pain neck knot

The itchy stopped but now I hurt....everywhere, but mostly in my legs and back I also have a weird round knot in the back of my neck below my skull that hurts all around it. I am taking like 6 advil a few times a day for the pain. I cant sit still....my muscles clench....Im no weakling when it comes to pain....what is going on?? I really cant afford to pay a co pay every time I have a question for my doc just so they can write a referral to some one else!! Frustrating!!

Hi, 24yo female! About 4 weeks ago i was admitted to hospital with severe headache & papilledema! After CT & MRI came back fine i was told i have benign intracranial hypertension, was sent home with DIAMOX tabs which seemed to ease the headaches a little!

I cant open my mouth more than a half an inch and when I do open my mouth I have severe pain. This knot is very hard and its about two inches wide and one inch long. I cant even turn my head in the direction that this knot is in. The pain meds the dentist prescribed me doesnt help with the pain. My dentist said this was normal but I dont think it is, my mom had the same surgery and didnt have the knot and pain like I have. Thanks to all!

thank you for replying so quickly, Yes the knot is hard,. when I touch it, it makes my shoulders feel heavy and sends a bit of pain down my neck. but I could just be touching it too much, I often try to massage the area but there are times it isn't painful to press, b it seems to have gotten a bit bigger though.

Each morning the pain is quite bad between my shoulder blades. The pain is worse on the right hand side. The pain in my arms are 2 places and once again much worse on the right hand side. Upper arm and lower arm. Physio said the lower arm pain could be tennis elbow. This pain feels like the muscle weakness you experience after a heavy gym work out, starting around the area of the elbow towards the hand.

I am concerned about my fiance so I am here asking this question. He has had a knot that comes and goes on the left side of his neck in the front near his throat and collar bone. It looks to be swelled up to about half the size of a tennis ball and sticks out around 1/4 inch. It brings him to his knees when rubbed down on. Does anyone know if this could be serious or needs immediate attention? Thanks in advance.

The therapist spent FOREVER on the knot and as usual, nothing. I feel worse than before I weneed to the therapist as now the knot hurts bday and I can feel it more prominently. Is there a chance it's not a knot? What else could it be? I really would just like the pain to stop.

Hi there. I have a lump, possibly a swollen gland on the left side of my neck, close to the jaw. According to the charts it looks like the jugulodigastric node and is right on top of the jugular. My best guess to size is just over a half inch. It isn't tender, just swollen. I just quit smoking and I'm 24 years old. I'm not sure how long it has been there, though I suspect its been a while (been monitoring it for a week now). I don't have any other symptoms that I'm aware of.

Can a knot in the muscles near/around/of the shoulder (thoracic region) cause severe neck pain? It is difficult or maybe even impossible (due to pinching pain) to turn my head to the right. The muscle knot is also on the right side of my back. What can I do to help ease the pain and "fix" the knot in my back?

Been diaganosed with anxiety by my gp and therepist.I get a lot of neck pain,upper shoulder pain sometimes it feels like burningmuscle and mild pressure headaches towards the back of my head.I am a hypochondiac i will admit from all the physical symptoms of anxiety ive become a regular at my doc and now even have a cardio doc which have ran numerous tests and all came back fine went to a massage therepist and she says its knots in my neck from stress.

Well I'm 37 weeks, and my neck and my back(up top) are really messed up.. like it hurts to turn my neck or move my right shoulder. My boyfriend has been complaining about a chest and back pain on his right side for about a week now. It came totally out of the blue. I have just recently noticed, my 19 month old, has a small knot in his neck. It smaller than a pea, rolls around but seems to stay in the same general area of his neck.
