Avatar n tn ) reviewed the CPT-4 codes for each study year (Table 1) to identify those that were believed to reflect the most common types of spinal injection procedures that radiologists perform, including lumbar discography (CPT-4 code 62290), cervical discography (CPT-4 code 62291), disk aspiration and/or injection (CPT-4 code 62287), epidural steroid injection (nonselective epidural injection or selective nerve root injection; CPT-4 code 62289 for lumbar injection or 62298 for cervical or thoracic injec
Avatar f tn CPT codes are the critical code numbers to tell your Insurance Co. when you call them for coverage information. They are the "procedure" codes that your Doctors office will bill to the insurance company. It is the first thing your Ins. company will ask for when you call them for coverage information. I am just trying to hunt down CPT codes myself and found that you have to ask for the "Billing dept.
Avatar n tn can some one tell me the code for billing static emg scanner?
Avatar m tn I was told to call the hospital and see what the cost of use would be for the out patient surgery. My doctor gave me CPT code of 67108. I got my estamite from the hospital and it's a staggering $15,000 dollars for us just to use the room. I Googled CPT codes and one site was AMA. Both sites said $1500.00 for code 67108. Can anyone tell me what to expect the hospital to charge for this? Not for the surgery, just for the privilege of using the place.
Avatar f tn It is usually referenced in codes, like the Current Procedural Terminology(CPT) code set is a medical code set maintained by the American Medical Association. Your primary care physician may be able to guide you appropriately, please discuss this with him. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn He shouldnt be charging you for more than your session time, 60 min is not the lowest increment available. I saw a code for 45 min also. Call your doctors office and ask for billing and enquire about it. Or call your insurance company and ask them about it. Tell either how much time you spent with the actual DR, not time in the waiting room. CPT Code 92214 means: Offic/Outpt E&M Estab Mod-Hi established patient. CPT Code 90838 means: psychotherapy, 60 minutes Hope this helps!
405614 tn?1329144114 my second brain MRI had that code, but not the first brain mri or spinal MRI (the CPT code listed the same for brain and spine; may be wrong). I researched the CPT code used for my spinal MRI, and they were standard MRIs without contrast. If the first brain MRI was ordered using the not-ms protocol CPT code, and the second one used the ms protocol CPT code. Wouldn't that mean that they were done differently and weren't adequate for noting changes?
2059648 tn?1439766665 Either ask your doctor to ask your insurance company what is the allowable charge for the particular CPT code of the test that you want, or call your insurance company and ask them directly. Concurrently, you could ask what percentage of allowable the insurance company will pay, or equivalently, what will be your patient responsibility. Don't forget to take into account any annual deductible that you haven't met yet!
Avatar m tn The pain associated with an implanted pacemaker may be musculoskeletal or nerve related. Most likely related to the minor surgery required for insertion of the pacemaker. This type of pain related to the incision should heal within weeks. If you have persistent chest pain at the site of the pacemaker, it might be reasonable to see your doctor so that possible causes can be evaluated.
Avatar n tn will there be personality changes after pacemaker insertion? My son is 24 and fears becoming"hyper",he now is fairly "laid back".Is this unfounded?
1025701 tn?1257172434 So, I am trying to find out from my insurance company (Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield federal) all the details I can. The girl who answered wanted to know what the CPT code for Tysabri is. If anyone out there knows what that is I would greatly appreciate it. I was hoping to find out as much as possible since I know that some places can charge you more per infusion. I think my cost will be 15% so it makes a big difference to me what the overall cost will be. Thanks so much for reading this.
Avatar n tn In my experience, when a Pacemaker is inserted by a Cardiologist, a representative by the Pacemaker manufacturer follows up the insertion and programs the pacemaker in the hospital. It's not unusual that it has to be tweaked from time to time. If your husband still isn't feeling right, I'd request that you contact your Cardiologist and ask for a manufacturer's rep to be present to review the history of your heart beats since it was inserted.
Avatar f tn Where it says CPT Code it says 86695 and for hsv2 it says 86696. Am i reading this correctly that these are the wrong tests??
Avatar n tn Normally, she should not have such pain after the insertion of the pacemaker. Maybe its position is causing some muscle spasm that is affecting her arm. The best option is to take her back to the doctor who inserted the pacemaker and explain the situation to him. If she has some fever, it may mean that the pacemaker place is infected and needs an urgent intervention.
Avatar m tn We are trying to figure out if we should go direclty to the insertion of a pacemaker vs. an ablasion procedure. Since ablasion procedure may need to be repeated and flecainide (drug after ablasion) is questionable, should we just go directly to the pacemaker?
Avatar f tn Hello. So glad I found this site! I just turned 50 yrs old. I had a pacemaker implanted in Feb 2011. Dr's said I had "heart block". To this day I'm still unsure what that is, but I was in the hospital at the time for seizures & a rare disease called P.R.E.S. It's basically swelling of the brain. Anyway, I was watching tv in my hosp room when a code was called, nurses came running : it was for me!
Avatar f tn I got a pacemaker June 20th on the left side. There has been swelling in my left shoulder and arm from almost the time I got the pacemaker. The left side of my neck is contantly stiff. A venogram showed no clots. The shoulder and are feel very tight and the left arm is obviously larger than the right arm to the naked eye. My cardiologist said this is unusual but didn't think I have anything to worry about. Did my surgeon put the pacemaker in incorrectly? Is it crimping my vein?
Avatar f tn I am on my 3rd pacemaker after an ablation and pacemaker insertion 12 years ago. Since my new one on the 5th of May was ok with the exception of lacking energy to walk far. Prior to my last insertion i was walking 4k's a day. Since then no way. i went back to my Doctor 4 weeks ago and told him. He said he would make it more sensitive. Then I experienced headaches amd feelings of nausea on many occasions. i went back the following week to be told my BP had gone sky high. 160/102.
Avatar n tn My father, 89, recently had a pacemaker inserted due to bradycardia. His PMD and internal medicine specialist started him on Coumadin afterwards. Since my step-mother had been hospitalized a week before with GI bleeding due to long term (20 years) effects of Coumadin, my father is reluctant to keep on with the medication now he's at home.
Avatar f tn I have UH also, but it might also be what type of UH it is. If your doc has merit for the test, I don't see why it wouldn't be covered. You could find-out the CPT Code of the test (by calling the doc's office) and then call UH Customer Service (on the back of your ins. card), give them the CPT Code and ask if it is covered under your plan. If you already had the test and it is denied, appeal!
Avatar f tn If the docs wont operate then they wont put in a pacemaker. A pacemaker does not seem to be needed. Your uncle's problem comes from clogged arteries due to high cholesterol (either from diet or genetics or both). The arteries supply blood and nutrients to the heart muscle itself to keep it alive. When the heart can't get it's blood supply you have a heart attack. Looks like they put stents in the artery years ago which keeps the artery open.
Avatar m tn Maybe see if there is a location there near you or speak with your doctor and tell him you understand he needs a screening but you cannot afford it - call around with the cpt code the doctor will use for the test and see if you can find your own lab that will do it cheaper. He should do it if you agree to go straight to the lab when they require a test.
