Oxymorphone recreational dose

Common Questions and Answers about Oxymorphone recreational dose

opana

Avatar m tn opana is oxymorphone, it is more potent than morphine and is somewhat similiar to oxycontin, it has lots of recreational abuse, as long as a good drug for pain management, when needed...
Avatar f tn I’ve been taking 5mg oxymorphone extended release pills for 8 years. I recently had to switch primary care doctors because mine moved away. The first urine drug test I was asked to do was last Friday and they called today and said the drug didn’t show up in my system, and dropped me as a patient. I should start withdrawals tomorrow & I’m scared out of my mind. I’ve never failed a drug test, asked for an early refill, nothing like that.
Avatar f tn Oxymorphone was not detected in any specimen from high-dose morphine or high-dose hydromorphone patients. The authors conclude, based on these data, that oxymorphone is not a metabolite of morphine or hydromorphone. I wish I had better answers for you. I am not super knowledgeable in Chemistry. This was not imperative some years ago - so I am learning. All I can do is research for metabolites and UDS various results - though I do understand when I read them.
Avatar f tn This rotation calls for careful titration or the new dose and can require multiple visits to find that dose. The last time I rotated from oxycodone to morphine, it took about a month to titrate to the proper dose, which meant I was in the doctor's office about once a week during that month. Undertreated pain is misery. Be persistent in your goal of properly tirating your new, effective dose. Keep a pain diary, and stay in close touch with your doctor's office.
981443 tn?1250115802 so for the last 8 months Ive been doing a steady dose of oxymorphone hcl (opana) each pill is 10 mg and Ive been doing about 120 mgs per day, snorting it. now id like to get clean and i would like to know what the best way to taper off is. i don't wanna go through the hell of wd its hell. so please if someone has a suggestion for tapering off 120 mg let me know.
Avatar m tn I have built up a tolerance to oxycodone IR that I have had to take 3 times my dose just to get my pain to get down to a moderate level. The research I have done is that oxymorphone is stronger and less mg. I have several questions. Are taking less mg easier on the body? How do I ask my doctor to switch, I don't want to seem like just another patient trying to get high.
1855076 tn?1337115303 I have a hard time remembering what each medicine is, generic name versus brand names. I'm once again having a hard time controlling the pain. I have come down to a very small dose and I haven't been using anything long acting. My goal was to see if I could manage on nothing or very little and it's very clear that my quality of life is nonexistent on such a low dose. I'm taking oxycodone 10 mg. every 4 hours. I essentially get about an hour to 1.
Avatar f tn Oxycodone is metabolized by the liver into oxymorphone. Oxymorphone is about 2 times stronger than oxycodone based on pharmacology. When I was first switched to Opana, the drowsiness and tiredness were unreal! It was a real struggle for me at first and I also have a desk job. However, the sedation effects only lasted for a month at the most. Now I don't get sedated anymore and in fact I am more alert than I was on Morphine.
Avatar f tn Was on Tramadol for the past 7 months, up to 400mg a day for severe neck/back injury/pain due to a car accident 8 months ago. My pain management doc gave me this Oxymorphone 5mg. up to 3 times daily yesterday. Doc said try this, but if that doesn't work, its epidural cervical injections and possible surgery. I'm worried about addiction now, w/ all these pills they throw at me.
Avatar f tn Stands to reason that: 2 x 5mg Percocet = 1 x 10mg Oxycontin Don't quote me on that though. I know Percocet has both Oxymorphone AND Acetaminophen in it, and Oxycontin has Oxymorphone only. I'm not certain what the Acetaminophen brings to the table as far as drug-interactions go, but your statement that the Perc and the Oxy are the same (2x5mg vs. 1x10mg) sounds about right. Maybe someone in the Pain-Management Community would know.
Avatar f tn You use it to convert your fentanyl dosage to an equivalent morphine dose, and then find the equivalent morphine dose to oxymorphone, Generally when converting between opiates, doctors will reduce the new medication strength by a certain percentage to account for incomplete cross tolerance, which is a boost in analgesia you get from rotating from one kind of opiate to another. You can find equal analgesic tables, and apps for calculating equivalent dosing online.
Avatar f tn that said i failed his drug test threw papers at me and cursed me ,he started me on opanaer40mgs.in sept08, he did not start me out on a lower dose first.i am worried about withdrawls i have copd and hep.c in remission, should i have ever taken this drug?should he have given me something more than hydrocodone10/500 to come off of this med. i know that i am not susposed to have that much acedimine, what do u suggest i do about this? this hydro.
Avatar f tn Also 15mg's if oxymorphone ER. Morphine 39mgs ER didn't do a Dan think. The oxymorphone us better but far from great. The ixycidibe doesn't work at 5mgs. No I gave not built up a tolerance because I only take the oxycidibe when I need it. What U do is rake 5nfs if oxycodone and 3 or 4 hours later take another tablet. I never double the dose. I think 10mgs is the minimum I should be prescribed. Are any if you in the sane situation as I am. I'm very angry about this!!!
Avatar n tn Also want to say that the information about the way your doctor changed your dose is acurate. You went from a strong dose of Oxy to a very low dose of Opana. The conversion is way off for you. You should be taking 30 mg twice a day or 3 10 mg pills 3 times a day. Butr I'm going to say this, try not to increase, you will only suffer a little for about 5 days and your body will adjust. YOU DO NOT WANT the opana monkey on your back trust me!
687729 tn?1397992727 ve tried using Kratom for the pain and it keeps me awake. Can the fast-acting Oxymorphone be cut in half? I did pretty well with the Dilaudid, but it gave me such a rush that I don't want to develop a psychological addiction to it. I've tried cutting the Opana ER in half, but the blade in the cutter won't cut it. Any advice out there? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Opana worked well for me... But I have never had a med that works as long as it is supposed to! Have you ever tried Exalgo? It is hydromorphone instead of oxymorphone. I've done both but I'm on MS Contin for my extended release right now, it works well. Low dose ER meds only help to take the edge off so that the instant release works a little better. Maybe you should try a new IR like Roxie's, nucynta, or dilaudid.
Avatar m tn I dont see much about it in these posts but I have been taking oxymorphone(OPANA) for FBS.I have been addicted to Meth cocaine and alcohol in the past but have been free from those chains for 10 years. My disease has resurfaced with this Opana though.I have cut my intake from 20 mg a day to 10 mg a day for the past three days.I have been blessed to avoid the terrible sickness of opiate withdrawl that I went through last year with this **** when I went CT off of it.
Avatar f tn Hi Krista! I've had severe chronic pain since 1983 and was diagnosed with HCV in 1986 and with cirrhosis in 2004. Before my liver got so bad I used a variety of different pain meds, but have had to be way more careful since 2004. For the last year I've been using Opana (oxymorphone) ER twice daily and a small dose of oxymorphone IR for breakthrough pain. It has worked well for me, contains no acetaminophen, is okay with my hepatologist, and has fewer supply hassles than OxyContin did.
Avatar m tn Opana is identical to Oxycontin It has Oxymorphone in it, and is a pretty strong narcotic. Make sure you are in full blown withdrawals before you take the suboxone. If you take it too soon, the sub will push you into even worse longer lasting wds. and then you'll have to wait even longer before taking any.
Avatar f tn d my use of oxycodone for some years, and more recently my use of oxymorphone, but has told me to strictly limit the use of vicodin to less than 4 per day, due to it's Tylenol content. I quit taking it at all as a precaution Your own hepatologist should always be consulted regarding any medications you may need however, as every body is unique.
