the wafers are all that works. i am having trouble getting a script larger than four wafer or tablets. its really started to drive me mental. i am having to go to the doctor every four days just so i am able to function for work. any suggestions on how to get around this problem??
Tell your Dr. They can give you anti nausea tablets that work wonders. It can be dangerous not to eat and drink and throw up too much, so it's important you call them. I got Ondansetron orally disintegrating tablets. Super cheap and worked great the few times I was sick. Hope you feel better! Keep drinking water!
Hi I hope u feel better I was like that especially after work felt so awful n couldnt keep dinner down im taking ondansetron 4 mgs tablets love them they are true lifesavers and I recommend them talk to your doc about it they have dissolving ones u put under your tongue tell them u want the regular ones your swallow
Ondansetron is Zofran hun. Its just the generic name for zofran. Even though theres a lawsuit, id say its more of a money maker. I took it both pregnancies and my babies came out fine. Youve got to look at whether the benefits outweigh the risk with ANY medication. If youre miserable and need to eat for baby, take it. My advice is try to only take it when u really need it, not on a regular basis. Stop as soon as symptoms ease up. Lots of water too.
Ondansetron is the generic for Zofran. Why would you refuse it? It's safe to take or your Dr wouldn't prescribe it to you. There's other meds out there if you don't want to take it. My Dr gave me Diclegis. It helped take the edge off the nausea.
My mother bought me preggie pops they are like suckers but there are only a few kind that I like go to your pharmasists and ask for them. Also I tske ondansetron orslly distegrating tablets! Just make sure you half the pill and let is dissolve in your mouth and it don't have a bad taste. But when you get almost half way through your ninth week it does not work for me I just ran out And I feel like I'm dying..
Ive been taking ondansetron my whole pregnancy, it usually keeps it under control if I take it regularly otherwise ill be vomiting.
I never had hep A, but have considerable experience with nausea and vomiting, While on treatment for hep c these symptoms were almost continuous. Ondansetron 8mg ODT (orally disolving tablets) worked well and gaviscon, that I learned would stop my retching immediately. One morning I was standing at the counter trying to figure out how I was going to get down 20 grams of fat so I could take my pills and began to retch.
Hiya im 15 weeks and I have been the same the whole way through my pregnancy so far, ive tried everything, little and often, tablets of the doctor all sorts. Ive gone four days now without and I found orange juice helped, fresh orange.. I drink it constantly throughout the day and ive stoped throwing up, I think its because it fills me up as im struggling to keep food down.. ive also stayed away from hot drinks and hot places..
Ondansetron has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal damage. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Case reports have described two women who have received ondansetron during pregnancy for life-threatening hyperemesis gravidarum. No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Zofran/Ondansetron is also used in pregnancy. I felt safe using this during pregnancy as I have known more women who have used it without any problems. it's a newer drug and works very well without the sedating side effects that promethazine can have. Here is the FDA information too.

I took Ondansetron. They're generic for Zofran.. They were 8mg dissolvable tablets & they worked great ! I never had any morning sickness but on the days I didn't feel good, these really helped.
I am a teenger. for a year i have been plagued with horrible nausea. i've been to the dr, i've had so many tests done, and all of them have come back saying i'm normal. the dr doesn't know what to do. sometimes i can't breathe. my hands shake. my nausea hightens dramatically. i'm constantly nauseated, but during these moments i really do think i'm going to puke, but i never do. i also get really dizzy during these moments sometimes. my whole body shakes.
I had that to my doctor gave me "diclegis" it helped me alot ask to see if they can prescribe you some :) i tried the candies the ginger ale it helped with the nausea symptoms but doesn't help actually keep any food down :( the diclegis helped alot :) you need to try and eat i lost weight with the nausea let us know how it goes good luck with everything
I was going to ask myself in this forum I put on 3lb in first month now this month I've lost to point I'm below my weight when I conceived I am struggling with sickness I'm now on tablets to help so hopefully weight will start to come on
Im currently 10wks pregnant with my second baby.iv been so sick 4wks of 24/7 nausea and 1 1/2 weeks of vomiting and I was unable to keep food or fluids down I was prescribed ondansetron wafers and maxolon tablets and vitamin b6 unfortunately this didn't help me at all and resulylted in going to the hospital for a IV drip.
I was put on 50 mg of zoloft a month ago and have had nausea ever since. It seems like it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I was prescribed Ondansetron ODT 4mg. It doesn't seem to help. Will the nausea go away?
And yes Nexium as Pepela suggested is also in the PPI class
I'm 32 weeks right now and I have been taking ondansetron to help with the nausea... And it helps out!!
My doctor gave me ondansetron, it saved my life lol! I'm 17 weeks pregnant and I still throw up on the daily but its not as bad as a few weeks ago. The ondansetron has a grape flavor but it does make me gag, what I do is place it under my tongue and then swish with a huge gulp of ice cold water.
I noticed that my nausea was worse when I was super hungry but I would be so hungry that I couldn't keep anything down- frustrating!
Hi am in my 13th week and is having bad nausea my doctor gave me this Ondansetron tables which helped a lot but am concerned about taking it. Any suggestions on should I take this medicine as it help me to work??
