Ondansetron is the generic for Zofran. Why would you refuse it? It's safe to take or your Dr wouldn't prescribe it to you. There's other meds out there if you don't want to take it. My Dr gave me Diclegis. It helped take the edge off the nausea.
Ondansetron is Zofran hun. Its just the generic name for zofran. Even though theres a lawsuit, id say its more of a money maker. I took it both pregnancies and my babies came out fine. Youve got to look at whether the benefits outweigh the risk with ANY medication. If youre miserable and need to eat for baby, take it. My advice is try to only take it when u really need it, not on a regular basis. Stop as soon as symptoms ease up. Lots of water too.
No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Zofran/Ondansetron is also used in pregnancy. I felt safe using this during pregnancy as I have known more women who have used it without any problems. it's a newer drug and works very well without the sedating side effects that promethazine can have. Here is the FDA information too.
Ondansetron has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal damage. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.

So how long did it work for you and when are you starting the granisetron? Do you know if your doctor has given these meds to other patients on tx or is it just a hit and miss approach? I think it's great that he's willing to look outside of the box but I've never heard of either one being used.
It sounds like she is entering puberty early (precocious puberty) - you need to take her to see her paediatrician (or GP to get a referral to paediatrics if you are in the UK). There are tests they can do to check whether or not she has precocious puberty, and if she does, they can treat it with medication to prevent menarche occurring at an early age.
I am currently in my 9th week of triple tx and am really having a hard time with nausea.
I currently take hydroxzine and ondansetron, but I'm finding the nausea is getting worse.
At first the ondansetron worked pretty good, but over the week or so I have been really struggling to keep everything down. Food and meds.

I tried compazine last week and that was a disaster for me.
I went to the er and got ondansetron (generic for zofran) but the doc prescribed it bc I literally kept nothing but one icee a day down. I got a script for 12 and thats it. All I know is they do not prescribe it to one indivodual in large quantities and that bc it can affect and stay in your blood for so long they have to monitor how much an individual gets.
Hi, he's doing well in school, no friend problems, doesn't seem anxious, generally fit and active.we have been referred on to paediatrics...just concerned as he has constant headache for so long. Slight relief from ibuprofen and paracetamol but only takes then if really needed.
I was put on 50 mg of zoloft a month ago and have had nausea ever since. It seems like it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I was prescribed Ondansetron ODT 4mg. It doesn't seem to help. Will the nausea go away?
t know if these symptoms are related at all to the petechial rash. Other than this she seems to be healthy. The GP (doctor) has referred her to paediatrics for an appointment in 13 days' time. He also took a urine sample which was okay.
The rash doesn't seem to be linked to a virus as it all began over 2 months ago and she generally seems well in herself, other than these vague intermittent symptoms.
Could there be an innnocent explanation for this petechial rash, other than virus?

My son has had diarrea in bouts since he was a baby. Over the last 12 months it has got worse - episodes every few weeks lasting a few days. Sometimes he gets an urgency where he needs to go immediately and then explodes!! We have seen the GP on a number of occasions and he has just had a blood test showing raised enzymes?? he has been referred to medical paediatrics. He is nearly 13 years and thriving, growing, not losing weight. Any ideas??
Hi am in my 13th week and is having bad nausea my doctor gave me this Ondansetron tables which helped a lot but am concerned about taking it. Any suggestions on should I take this medicine as it help me to work??

My doctor gave me ondansetron, it saved my life lol! I'm 17 weeks pregnant and I still throw up on the daily but its not as bad as a few weeks ago. The ondansetron has a grape flavor but it does make me gag, what I do is place it under my tongue and then swish with a huge gulp of ice cold water.
I noticed that my nausea was worse when I was super hungry but I would be so hungry that I couldn't keep anything down- frustrating!
I am not happy with taking drugs while pregnant but I have lost a extrem amount of weight and it has been stressed to me medication and iv fluids are absolutely necessary. So have been taking Ondansetron (Zofran) and another prochlorperazine. I knew to ask for Zofran before treatment because I had throw up issues while in cancer chemo. Give your doctor a call and get relief. It works great.
I had it really bad with my first three kids, I practically lived in the hospital for all nine months, call your Dr for some meds
I ate really small meals...
