Ondansetron is the generic for Zofran. Why would you refuse it? It's safe to take or your Dr wouldn't prescribe it to you. There's other meds out there if you don't want to take it. My Dr gave me Diclegis. It helped take the edge off the nausea.
Its my saving grace! I've been taking it pretty much everyday since i was 7 weeks and now I'm 22 weeks. i couldn't stop vomiting without it. I still have a day here and there but its a lot better than before. I hope it helps you and good luck with your pregnancy!
Ondansetron has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal damage. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Case reports have described two women who have received ondansetron during pregnancy for life-threatening hyperemesis gravidarum. No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
I haven't. if the docs give it you then its ok to take, they aren't gonna to hive you anything that's going to harm the baby. you van always ask your Dr if you have any concerns.
Hello! I get extremely dizzy, throw up for hours and have a weird feeling to where, if I see anything (I have my face covered completely when I'm dizzy) I will immediately lose control and have to hold my head to keep from spinning. I know when it is about to happen because I get this sudden, indescribable rush that seems to come from my chest and shoot up into my head causing me to almost curl up in a ball. If I'm walking, I have to stop and hold my head.
Call your doctor now to get an Rx for Zofran (Ondansetron) phoned in to your local pharmacy. You need to control the nausea because if you can't keep your Incivek down your treatment could fail. Even losing one or two doses to vomiting could put you at more risk of viral mutation and breakthrough. The Zofran is a tiny tablet that you dissolve on your tongue every 8 hours as needed and it works very quickly and without sx in most people.
I went to the er and got ondansetron (generic for zofran) but the doc prescribed it bc I literally kept nothing but one icee a day down. I got a script for 12 and thats it. All I know is they do not prescribe it to one indivodual in large quantities and that bc it can affect and stay in your blood for so long they have to monitor how much an individual gets.
I was put on 50 mg of zoloft a month ago and have had nausea ever since. It seems like it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I was prescribed Ondansetron ODT 4mg. It doesn't seem to help. Will the nausea go away?
My doctor gave me ondansetron, it saved my life lol! I'm 17 weeks pregnant and I still throw up on the daily but its not as bad as a few weeks ago. The ondansetron has a grape flavor but it does make me gag, what I do is place it under my tongue and then swish with a huge gulp of ice cold water.
I noticed that my nausea was worse when I was super hungry but I would be so hungry that I couldn't keep anything down- frustrating!
I know you mention that you have spent so much money at urgent care facilities and hospitals, but do you have a gastro doctor as well? Urgent care and ER places are there to patch you up and get you on your way so it will be important to see a regular doctor to explore the best options.

Hi am in my 13th week and is having bad nausea my doctor gave me this Ondansetron tables which helped a lot but am concerned about taking it. Any suggestions on should I take this medicine as it help me to work??
In my opinion, if your doctor reccomended them you should be okay... But if I were you I wouldn't. Some women do get very sick in their firat trimester and lose a lot of weight, but you shouldn't worry about it. You should start feeling better and putting on pounds in your second trimester.
I almost feel guilty for complaining but I need some sort of relief if possible. Did anything work for any of you? What about that constant bitter taste all the time? Please share your remedies/stories with me.

I was on it for 4 days before that specific one stopped working and I ended up in the hospital again.. I'm 19 weeks today and had to take diclectin, ranitadine, and ondansetron up until 16 weeks regularly now it's just if i get stressed.
Our 14 yr old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix was diagnosed with CKF over 8 months ago and his levels were high. We changed his diet K/D, give him aluminum hydroxide gel, metochlopramide, and meloxicam. E has had some progressive muscle wasting in his back legs but still was able to walk a mile a day. 5 days ago he starting vomiting everything he ate, we changed to ondansetron for naseau. He is now unable to walk but eating and drinking. We are carrying him out to use the bathroom.
