Common Questions and Answers about Ondansetron for vertigo

zofran

862235 tn?1336060295 it happened a few times as i was working at my desk, then I had it for about 3 or 4 days one time, it started the day after my injection, and got worse for a few days. At one point it took me about a half an hour to get out of bed, i kept falling back down from the vertigo. It went away after a few days. I find it hard to believe that it has nothing to do with treatment when I hear others having the same thing.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron is Zofran hun. Its just the generic name for zofran. Even though theres a lawsuit, id say its more of a money maker. I took it both pregnancies and my babies came out fine. Youve got to look at whether the benefits outweigh the risk with ANY medication. If youre miserable and need to eat for baby, take it. My advice is try to only take it when u really need it, not on a regular basis. Stop as soon as symptoms ease up. Lots of water too.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron is the generic for Zofran. Why would you refuse it? It's safe to take or your Dr wouldn't prescribe it to you. There's other meds out there if you don't want to take it. My Dr gave me Diclegis. It helped take the edge off the nausea.
585414 tn?1288941302 It is also in clinical study for tardive dyskinesia. Since it is FDA approved for other purposes I was allowed to try it (with mixed results) but it is part of a new class of antipsychotics in development, the 5-HT3 receptor antagonists that are being researched as adjuncts (in addition to standard antipsychotics) treatments for schizophrenia.
Avatar f tn Case reports have described two women who have received ondansetron during pregnancy for life-threatening hyperemesis gravidarum. No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.

She started taking Ondansetron for the nausea, which helped somewhat and has discontinued her hepatitis treatments (last Friday 2 weeks in) but the Miniere's symptoms persisted. 14868695 tn?1443396776 Has anyone taken this for nausea? Its generic for zofran which has some medical lawsuits due to it causing clef pallet and heart defects in babies. I was given one at the hospital yesterday after my ob sent me bc of a pain in my side and really bad vomiting. And now I have a prescription for it. The side effects list is soo long. It says to talk to your doctor to see if the benefits out weigh the risks. Now I don't even want to take it. :( I'm not sure what to do.
Avatar f tn its really started to drive me mental. i am having to go to the doctor every four days just so i am able to function for work. any suggestions on how to get around this problem??
Avatar f tn Sure thing! Also try sea bands, ginger snaps, and I'm not supposed to have salt, but found a lime salt that saves my car rides! My doctor even prescribed Ondansetron (Zofran) for me. I've even tried essential oils, but most have such an overwhelming scent it triggers even more sickness!
Avatar f tn Does any of the medicine the docs give for morning sickness actually work? Everything else Ive tried isnt helping and its so terrible! I barely get through work and if it gets any worse Im not going to be able to work I really dont want that!
Avatar f tn I was put on 50 mg of zoloft a month ago and have had nausea ever since. It seems like it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I was prescribed Ondansetron ODT 4mg. It doesn't seem to help. Will the nausea go away?
Avatar m tn And yes Nexium as Pepela suggested is also in the PPI class
Avatar f tn I almost feel guilty for complaining but I need some sort of relief if possible. Did anything work for any of you? What about that constant bitter taste all the time? Please share your remedies/stories with me. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi thanks for the explanation. I did have severe vertigo last year and saw an ENT that said my vertigo was not an inner ear issue he suggested then it was neurological in nature but further investigation is yet to determine where my vertigo stems from. I'm often lightheaded. But I also feel like when I'm standing doing something I feel like things are moving around me. Strange I know but it doens't happen often enough to really bother me yet.

1348086 tn?1370783185 I have been taking Cymbalta now for 8 days. I have had very little side effects.Tonight, about 45 minutes ago, I felt like someone was taking my stomach and intestines and twisting them in a knot and then I became nauseated. I took a Prilosec and some Gas X. I ate the same thing the rest of the family ate for supper and they are fine. I have 2 questions. Could this be related to the Cymbalta? I absolutely have a phobia to throwing up. My mom has Ondansetron that she takes when she is nauseated.
