8518086 tn?1407289593 I have really bad nausea as well. My doctor prescribed me Ondansetron, an orally disintegrating tablet, to help subdue my nausea. It's helped me get sleep at night because my nausea seems to be worse around bedtime. And since the tablet disintegrates orally it's gets into your system a lot faster.
Avatar n tn If it does turn out to be a migraine then a doctor could prescribe you a fast acting triptan (nasal spray or orally disintegrating tablet) in order to stop the migraine... a regular triptan in tablet form would not be good in your situation since in your case your situation resolves itself in under 30 minutes, so you would need a fast-acting triptan in your case, such as a nasal spray or an orally disintegrating tablet in order for it to be effective.
Avatar f tn Tell your Dr. They can give you anti nausea tablets that work wonders. It can be dangerous not to eat and drink and throw up too much, so it's important you call them. I got Ondansetron orally disintegrating tablets. Super cheap and worked great the few times I was sick. Hope you feel better! Keep drinking water!
Avatar m tn s quick dissolve tablet, or as the company calls it orally disintegrating tablet. It appears that for it to have an effect at half an hour, you must have the 10mg tablet and NOT the 5mg tablet. So, if you want relief at half an hour and not later, make sure to ask your doctor for the 10mg Maxalt-MLT orally disintegrating tablets. To sum it all up: Relief @ 10 minutes: Ask for Zomig Nasal Spray 5mg Relief @ 10 minutes: Ask for Imitrex Injection (but... this is rarely prescribed!!
Avatar f tn It has gotten better but my doctor gave me some nausea pills (ondansetron odt 4mg tablet) and it has helped a lot.
Avatar f tn My OB prescribed Ondansetron (Vomikind 4 mg)before meals so that I can manage to have food. I tablet per day or if the situation worsen up I can have one tablet in the morning and in twelve hours gap the other in the night.
Avatar f tn Ive just been prescribed zofran 4mg. It says to take one tablet four times a day but its $60 for a box of 10 and only have one repeat script. I think she wants me to only take it when I need it and stick to maxalon. How often do you need to take it ?
Avatar f tn Ondansetron is Zofran hun. Its just the generic name for zofran. Even though theres a lawsuit, id say its more of a money maker. I took it both pregnancies and my babies came out fine. Youve got to look at whether the benefits outweigh the risk with ANY medication. If youre miserable and need to eat for baby, take it. My advice is try to only take it when u really need it, not on a regular basis. Stop as soon as symptoms ease up. Lots of water too.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron is the generic for Zofran. Why would you refuse it? It's safe to take or your Dr wouldn't prescribe it to you. There's other meds out there if you don't want to take it. My Dr gave me Diclegis. It helped take the edge off the nausea.
Avatar f tn I took Ondansetron. They're generic for Zofran.. They were 8mg dissolvable tablets & they worked great ! I never had any morning sickness but on the days I didn't feel good, these really helped.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal damage. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Case reports have described two women who have received ondansetron during pregnancy for life-threatening hyperemesis gravidarum. No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Avatar f tn Zofran/Ondansetron is also used in pregnancy. I felt safe using this during pregnancy as I have known more women who have used it without any problems. it's a newer drug and works very well without the sedating side effects that promethazine can have. Here is the FDA information too. Ondansetron has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal damage. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.

Avatar f tn I went to the er and got ondansetron (generic for zofran) but the doc prescribed it bc I literally kept nothing but one icee a day down. I got a script for 12 and thats it. All I know is they do not prescribe it to one indivodual in large quantities and that bc it can affect and stay in your blood for so long they have to monitor how much an individual gets.

Avatar f tn The forms out there are Maxalt-MLT (orally disintegrating tablet) or Zomig-ZMT (orally disintegrating tablet) or Zomig Nasal Spray or Imitrex Nasal Spray. There is also an Imitrex Injection although this is usually only prescribed in very rare circumstances or administered in a hospital setting.
585414 tn?1288941302 A 2006 double-blind, randomized controlled trial indicated that ondansetron may have value in the treatment of schizophrenia, as an adjunct to haloperidol.
484033 tn?1208516117 This is because there are a lot of drugs (e.g. Granisetron, Ondansetron, and Aprepitant) available which are highly effective at controlling these symptoms. So with proper medication, you shouldn't worry too much about vomiting. Capecitabine comes in tablet form and is taken orally. It commonly causes diarrhea and mouth sores (55% of those who take the drug). The diarrhea is usually mild (the stools just get softer) and can be controlled by drugs such as loperamide.
