Hello my 12 year old was taking omnicef for a ear infection and 10 days into it she got hives all over her body and they come and go and really ichy do you think it's from the Omnicef?
My child was 1 1/2 months old when she developed a "cold" that consisted of a stuffy nose for about 1 1/2 months. After 2 bouts with antibiotics(amoxicillin & omnicef) it seemed that we were in the clear. Then about 3-4 weeks later she came down with a terrible cold that doesn't seem to want to go away and the doctors said there was nothing they could do for it.
I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question,
wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
Hi all, wondering if you have come across information indicating that flagyl can treat babesia at the same time it's treating Lyme. I understand it's also a antiparasitic, so not sure if that counts. If anyone knows or has heard their LLMD mention this please let me know. I just took my first dose of Flagyl, keeping my fingers crossed that I see some fantastic results!

I am a female age 33 years old and up until this year my bloodwork has always been perfectly normal. In November my Gynecologist told me that my Vitamin D levels were low and prescribed Vitamin D for me to take for 10 days. I did that like I was supposed to and haven't been to the doctor until this month. But to recap here is the problems I have been noticing. In March, I noticed that my feet and hands were itching.
I'm allergic to sulfa, too, so I am on Rifampin. It didn't seem to help as much as the Levaquin the first time around, but this time I'm on a higher dose. I assume I'll be on it a long time.
For me, Omnicef was almost useless. Within a month, my Lyme symptoms were getting worse. It's odd because Rocephin is helping a lot, and they're in the same drug family. Go figure. Omnicef is really helpful for some people, so don't be discouraged by my experience.
My 4 yr.old son had an allergic reaction to Omnicef. Hives all over and swollen hands, arms and feet. It's been 18 days and still gets a slight case of the hives . Within the last week( 3 times) he's had leg pain(muscel pain) joint pain. He has a hard time walking, usually the next day he can, it lasts anywhere from 12-24 hours. The 3 times he's had the leg pain he's either been swimming or riding a bike, took him to the hospital, blood work, x-rays and urine all came back fine.
I took her to her pediatrician that same day where they did a strep test which came back negative, prescribed omnicef and sent us home. The next day her temperature just kept skyrocketing, getting up to 106. That night I took her to the ER at Children's in Dallas where they ran another strep test, mono, flu, and cbc. Her mono, strep, and flu all came back negative. Her white blood count was at 21. They gave her a shot of rocephin, told us to continue the omnicef, sent us home.
He was put on amoxil and had an allergic reaction so he has been taking omnicef. The Dr told us this week that the omnicef has not done anything and that he was going to give him a round of antibiotic shots. So far my son has had 2 of the 3 shots. My first question is how quickly do these shots work? My other question is: Is there some underlying problem that is causing these ear infections, something more serious? He has not had any other type of infection i.e.
In certain patient’s there has been relation between use of certain medicines or allergies, environmental factors employed in the occurrence of hives. I think eye cream or omnicef could be the cause for developing hives in your case. I would recommend that you consult a allergist for further work up and confirmation of the cause for this. Best.
Swollen glands are non-specific. A swollen gland in your groin could be due to STD but it could also reflect skin infection in your leg on that side, athletes’, foot (really) or any number of other sources of inflammation. A single swollen gland as you describe is in no way suggestive of HIV.

I had Chlamydia several years ago before I was married and the only symptoms I had was was severe itching and burning in my Ureathra which allowed me to realize I needed to get tested. On the following Tuesday after the oral sex I a noticed a mild form of these symptoms beginning , it is no where near as severe as when I had Chlamydia and it may all be in my head. I had intercourse and oral sex with my wife on that Tuesday.
When she developed this acrid mouth stench I took her in figuring a sinus infection. Well she had a barely red throat and the PA decided to check for strep which was positive. Never having dealt with strep I assumed the smell was from the bacteria of strep. The Amoxicillan they gave her did not work so we went back for Omnicef and after 2 doses of meds the smell was gone. Two weeks after meds the smell came back... back to the Dr. no strep... no answers....
I cannot take Rifampin because it contains Omnicef which I am allergic to, so I should be ok right?
Did you find anything that worked for the pain in your tendons? I have had Lyme for 3 months. The doxy took away the rashes that were circular and bruise like but the tendons pain and random pain spots in my legs still remain.
ve had ulcertive colitis for 3 year now, with medication my doc said all ulcers are gone and was amazed this happened in 6 weeks. However the urgency and skinny stools never went away. On and off medications b/c it came back,the bleeding, urgency, pus, etc. I still have in the morning for over a hour, running back and forth to the bathroom diarreah. Mostly orange in color, skinny and smells.
What does the pain from your kidney infection feel like? My daughter has an, as yet, undiagnosed kidney problem. She said it feels like both of her kidneys are on fire. Is yours anything like that?

The allergist got a sinus x-ray and it showed a pretty yucky sinus infection. Once again, a round of Omnicef for 14 days made him better, but when I took him back for recheck and repeat x-ray, it showed he still had a mild sinus infection on the left side...So what is happening is the antibiotics have been getting him better, but not all the way, so it just comes right back, even if we keep him on antibiotics for 2-3 weeks at a time. He is set up to start allergy injections next week.
After about a day and a half (just under 2 weeks after the first impetigo spot) another one has popped up in the other corner of my lip. This kind of threw me off. The one in the left corner has come and gone about 4 times in the last 3 months, but it has never shown up in the other corner, and while already on antibiotics? I thought it may be a cold sore, but it is EXACTLY like the other side, and I thought HSV didn't occur on both sides, and rarely in the corner of the mouth.
Is it possible to have intense sinus pressure and not feel "stuffy" or congested? It has been such a long time since I had a sinus infection and I don't ever remember having this sensation. My right cheek/sinus cavity(only one side has seemed infected) feels sore and really aches. I was diagnosed with a sinus infection about 2 weeks ago----was put on an antibiotic which did not help. Four days ago, I was put on Omnicef.
