I have a strange tickle in my throat .It seem like lint,or dust hits my throat and causes me to constantly cough.I have vomit on a full stomach if I have to constantly cough.This is so embarrassing picking my daughter up from school,work,or out in public.My doctor has given me allergy pills and nasal spray none of these seem to work.I read all of the above comments and I seem to have the same symptoms.

read the directions on the bottle or RX given u by ur Dr...many times a GERD med will suggest 10 to 60 mins b4 u eat to swallow the pill with a full glass of water. I have also had my Dr RX the med to be taken just b4 bed to help with the nighttime issues...again check with ur Dr, or instructions on the med itself.

I take 40 mg daily and am thinking about going down to 20 mg. I found a study that says Omeprazole can cause SIBO (bacteria) in 50% of patients. I can't get into a gastro doc for another 2 months and think the diarrhea and inherent pain and nausea are driving my BP way up. I have had stomach cramps, constant burning in my upper abdomen and chest and diarrhoea. I was on omeprazole but had to stop as having an endoscopy done on the 19th. First, yes, I have been on the meds for 10 years, the reason I was taking them was because in the year 2000, I had a perforated gastric ulcer, probably caused by another med that I was on at the time. Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. You're incorrect. Omeprazole isn't a definitive treatment for peptic ulcers in that it won't correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. Have had some liver function test abnormalities but these vary between slightly raised and normal. Have a small liver cyst on ultrasound. Last ten days with omeprazole I get some headaches and sometimes I feel white bubbles in urine like calcium. Yesterday I drink little green tea and it made my chest horrible.
