omeprazole drug

Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?

I've followed this research, and from what I've learned the drug interaction of Plavix and PPI's (proton pump inhibitors) is not not that strong. I doubted the report from the start as I took Plavix and PPI's and my blood was as thin as tea, I bruised very, very easily, and the blood tests to determine my clotting factor wasn't changed by taking the two drugs.

This morning the pain is still there as is some slight nausea though I was able to eat something. Does anyone know of drug interactions between Anacin and Progesterone? Is there something else it could be?

I was having panic attacks which caused me to have a little bit of acid reflux one time so my doctor prescribed me a generic form of omeprazole to take twice daily 20mg 2x a day, I took it for over 2 months, and within the 2 months my anxiety and panic got worse to the point where when I would try to eat my heart would race and put me in a panic attack. This drug seemed to have increased my anxiety/panic attacks.

My doctor says I have esophagitis, and prescribed for me 20 mg omeprazole for 4 weeks. I am taking it now for 6 days and don't see any improvement yet. The drug reviews say it usually takes up to 4 days to feel better. Is this the case, or may it take longer time to see results? Thanks.

He prescribed omeprazole 40mg and I have not had any symptoms until this week. I want off the drug so I am watching what I eat, no late eating, losing weight, etc. It looks as if I will have to step up the pace a good bit. I am going to continue the omeprazole for a few months but was wondering if there is a particular optimum time to take the drug?

in 1998 had a bypass that did not work they put a defribilator in 2000 which has worked well up to august this year i was rushed in with a heartbeat of 161 they put me on amiodrone straight in the arm for three days my defib went off twice but did not bring me back into rythem they rushed me to Barts in London where they took the drip of amioderone straight out of my arm because it caused flebitis and put me on oral amioderone took me off warfarin and gave me enoxaparin injection till the warfar

Was put on omeprazole while investigating bronchitis symptoms with final diagnosis from biopsy of Langerhans histiocytosis in 2009. Only on oxygen 24:7 with no complications to date.. Seriously want to get off omeprazole. Will going off impact lung problem now that we it is Langerhans and not bronchitis?

Esomeprazole (Nexium) is slightly different than omeprazole (Prilosec). But your body could react the same way. You could try a small amount and see. There are some combo otc drugs by Rolaids and others that have an antacid and famotidine (acid reducer). Those probably don't work as well.

It is easy to find information regarding drug-drug interactions for omeprazole (Prilosec) and atorvastatin (Lipitor). The omeprazole appears to increase the bioavailability of the statin, increasing the risk of side effects. Does this mean that the interaction is like taking a higher dose of the statin, which would provide benefit for someone like me who only takes a low dose (10mg atorvastatin daily) and has no statin tolerance issues?

I'm a male, 32 yo and I'm about to undergo cholesterol, triglyceride and hdl tests. I forgot to mention to my physician that I'm currently taking omeprazole. I just learned that it may affect the tests, how long should I stop taking this drug before I undergo the lab tests?

This is a problem I did not have 4 weeks ago until I quite taking omeprazole. There are studies that show omeprazole does help obstructive sleep apnea. So here I am, omeprazole caused severe itchy skin but helps sleep apnea. Oral steroid stopped the itchy skin but screws with my head and makes me miserable. It appears I am in a CATCH-22 situation.

My doctor asked me be patient and use the drug for 12 to 24 weeks to become symptom-free. My question is that does taking omeprazole otc instead of prescription prilose make any difference in efficacy of the medication. Also, my doctor told me that i can stop taking the medicine once i become symptom-free and take as and when necessary as my symptoms usually come back. i am 32 year old now.

I am taking Omeprazole 20mg+0+20mg since 07.21.2009 as i have duodenal ulcer confirmed by Endoscopy. I am suffering liver cirrhosis with verix 2-3 had EVL I want to know is it safe for my liver to continue omeprazole for long duration?

I have finally found relief for the constipation that goes with this. I now take 2 omeprazole a day, 4 domperidone--a motility drug, and a Zantac before bed. I have tried ginger capsules and all kinds of natural supplements, plus tums, etc. Any suggestions? I have had a bezoar when digestion just stopped, gall bladder out--infection in that. I was prescribed a medication called Omeprazole which I believe is an acid reduction medicine. It worked real miracles and the problems all vanished. In the last few weeks I have since come off beta blockers after surgery and am still on Aspirin. I have stopped the omeprazole so I reckon this makes you correct in that the beta blockers must be the culprit.
