497348 tn?1283436066 I take Omeprazole first thing in the morning and was told to take nothing else for an hour. Are you taking them at the same time? If so, you may want to take them an hour apart. The Omeprazol, being an acid reducer, may have interfered with the absorption of the Celexa. This is just a guess as to why you had an attack though.
Avatar m tn I have been desperately trying to quit Omeprazole for the last 5 years but have had so much problem with extreme acid release it seems I'll be with it for my life. Of course noone knows yet the result of taking omeprazole for a lifetime, mice had cancer after weeks but human might as well after decades. I can't replace omeprazole with ranitidine, as the latter doesn't seem to work at all. I've been able to lower the dose to about one 20mg in two days but not more.

For pregnancy, for Luteal Phase Defect, for your menstrual cycle or Endometriosis etc?) without that information they might not know how to answer your question. Either way, I do hope that someone can provide you with a helpful answer. I think that you might have to elaborate though on what and where you are using it for.
1442483 tn?1284210716 Later that afternoon we received prescriptions for Amoxicillin, Metronidazole, and Omeprazole. After the weekend the nurse phoned me the pathology results, but couldn't see any answer as to what the cause of his gastritis was. However it did state Moderately Acute Gastritis H. Pylori not detected. I already had scheduled an allergy test for Wed. He tested allergic to yeast (and carrots, but no worries there for sure!). At the initial consultation with the Dr.
Avatar m tn Would the typical dosage amounts of these meds used to treat children for seizures be applicable for this condition? If these medications cannot be used in children for neurogenic cough, what other alternative meds would be helpful?
Avatar m tn My 4 year old son has been prescribed 20mg omeprazole for unknown stomach pain. I heard that PPIs such as this can increase the risk of pneumonia and he has a horrible chest cold. cough right now, should I discontinue taking this medication until this passes? Are the chances of it turning into pneumonia greater if he is on omeprazole? Or is this risk factor only for prolong use?
Avatar n tn You're incorrect. Omeprazole isn't a definitive treatment for peptic ulcers in that it won't correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.
Avatar f tn I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Avatar m tn Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
Avatar n tn He also feels warm inside stomach. Doctor prescribed omeprazole and he had it for three times year. It has not improved. He is loosing weight and drinking less water. He is afraid to eat food and missing school. Right now he is 5 feet 10 inch and 50 kg weight. Please advice what to do??
Avatar m tn Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.
Avatar m tn I am now on week six so this has dramatically changed my social life and I am now on 20mg of omeprazole. For the first month it started ok. I cut Alcohol, spicy food, all fizzy drinks, orange juice. Now I'm faced with crippling stomach pain, the belching is back and as worse as when I used to drink. I throw up bright yellow acidic sick and have diarohea frequently. I have to wait 2 weeks till my GP appointment. I'm still taking omeprazole, I'm exhausted and I need help.
Avatar n tn Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?

Avatar f tn I have been prescribed omeprazole 20 mg daily, Miralax, Citrucel, Klonopin .5 mg daily (anxiety) and 1/2 a Lortab 5/500 (due to painful abdominal cramps 24/7). The SIBO was recently diagnosed a month ago by HBT (positive fructose intolerance) and small bowel series showed rapid transit. I was put on Xiafaxan 550 mg b.i.d. for a 10 day course. I began to put the weight back on I had lost which was 12 lbs.
Avatar f tn I totally agree with Opus88's comments. You should not be dosing your kitty. Dosing should always be left to the vet who, after all, is an animal doctor.
Avatar n tn Today, there are syringes that are designed for very low dosing that children often need for a while; there are pens also designed with kids in mind. As soon as your child is even close to old enuf, I'd encourage you to involve him/her in the injection process. S/he can likely push the plunger before being able to do the injection, but every step of involvement and empowerment will take some of the pain away.
Avatar f tn I have severe vomiting, nausea and headaches. I am currently on omeprazole 40mg , I take 1 pill a day in the morning. My throat still feels as if food is stuck in there and my throat feels as if my throat was burnt severely and now it's sore. My stomach hurts, i constantly keep relieving gas. I would like some advice to what I should eat to make me feel better. Especially because of the vomiting & gas. I don't have insurance or else i would check myself into the hospital.
