nexium

Avatar f tn Do you mean Omeprazole? It's used by those who have varices (cirrhosis)..Primarily for nausea. Dosage seems high. This medicine can cause unusual results with certain medical tests, and you may need to stop using the medicine for a short time before a test. http://www.drugs.com/omeprazole.
Avatar m tn Losec or OMEPRAZOLE is what I am taking now and yes it works fine.I was told by the pharmasist thst it is a generic of prilosec. Ask ur dr on the dosage u need....the instructions on the box r to take for a period of time and stop.....but ur dr may tell u something different. If I stop for one day I can tell, so do ask ur dr what meds r right for u and what dosage to take and how.
Avatar n tn A couple years ago he also put me on 20 mg Omeprazole to take once a day for 14 days, after which he said I could start taking the Ranitidine again if i still had the heartburn.
Avatar f tn She has been prescribed with Mox 250mg( Amoxycillin capsules), Maclar 250mg( Clarithromycin), omeprazole tabs. Will it be sufficient for the cure with regular dosage or please suggest any additional measure.
Avatar n tn Is it possible to have a reverse reaction to Nexium / omeprazole? It never really made the symptoms of my recently diagnosed hiatal hernia caused reflux (lump in throat, mostly) go away. It seemed to help for 2 weeks, but after 1 month it seemed to aggravate GERD symptoms. I am reading a lot on the subject, experimenting with diet and relaxation and the occasional spoonful of Maalox. I relate to the person who said they felt fine until after the endoscopy.
Avatar n tn If you look at the label on cough syrup for children, even those typically recommend for age 6 and up (at least the brands I have seen.) When my 2 1/2 year old has a cold with a cough I give him milk slightly warmed with honey in it. I have also given him a teaspoon of honey on it's own. It works extremely well.
Avatar m tn My 4 year old son has been prescribed 20mg omeprazole for unknown stomach pain. I heard that PPIs such as this can increase the risk of pneumonia and he has a horrible chest cold. cough right now, should I discontinue taking this medication until this passes? Are the chances of it turning into pneumonia greater if he is on omeprazole? Or is this risk factor only for prolong use?
Avatar m tn Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.
Avatar m tn At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.
Avatar f tn I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Avatar n tn is omeprazole a nercotic pain killer? i know some medications that may b addicting so i thought i would double check..also i had seen that u can take in an i.v is this true and if so how?
Avatar n tn I keep forgetting to take my omeprazole dr 20 mg 30 minutes before meals, can I take it after the meal.
Avatar m tn Hi, Do you think a different manufacturer, could possibly make a slightly diffrent product,or maybe a different coating ? that could change the makeup of Omeprazole, or any other product for that matter.
Avatar n tn Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?
Avatar m tn Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?

Avatar m tn I told the nurse at my primary doctors about breathing menthol and all she did was laugh at me. I am betting you need the Omeprazole dosage upped. I was taking 40 mg. a day and they upped it to 40 mg. 2x a day.
Avatar f tn I was taking a prescription (omeprazole) to control my severe reflux(GERD) before I found out I was pregnant. My primary doctor suggested I stop taking it until my first appt with OB( 1/27) to see what she suggests. My reflux is severe and I don't want to keep taking Pepcid and tums like crazy. Has anyone else had this before pregnancy and what were you given to take that was safe?
Avatar f tn Had total thyroid removal in September 2011. Voice still gets hoarse when I talk alot. Also, right side of my neck and under chin feels numb and tender to the touch. Been prescribed Omeprazole and now Protonix for "acid on vocal cord (box). Never had any acid reflux or heartburn. Have appointment for a "Swallowing Test" next month. As for the neck/chin issue...docs don't seem to be concerned about it. Was told it won't go away.
Avatar f tn Remember there is usually a temporary increase in anxiety when a dosage is increased. The increased anxiety can cause more stomach acid and therefore your symptoms. I confess I take omeprazole for the heartburn. The burping went away with the anxiety. My stomach burned so bad I thought I had an ulcer. You can get prevacid or prilosec over the counter. Either one should help. Good luck and excuse yourself!
Avatar f tn So I have GERD and regularly take PPIs (one 20 mg pill per day, I rotate between Omeprazole, Esomeprazole, and Lansoprazole because they seem to lose effectiveness after a while if I just stay on the same one indefinitely) but for the past several days I've had excessive gas and heartburn. I've stopped eating all spicy foods as a result but it so far hasn't helped. Is it safe to double my PPI dosage for a week or two to see if that helps me alleviate this issue?
Avatar n tn I am in my mid-40's, post menopausal, and have been on Zoloft 100mg for 17 years. I recently had a really bad setback with my anxiety and it's been ten days since I increased to 125mg. I have noticed no improvements. I have a lot of health anxiety, and I sometimes convince myself that the Zoloft doesn't work anymore and I am doomed. I feel like after being on Zoloft for this long of a time, a dose increase would show some improvement by now.
Avatar m tn I started out taking two pills a day - one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. I decided to reduce the dosage as I had a dreadful withdrawal about a year ago while on Oxycontin. Is it possible to feel symptoms after cutting out one pill a day? I thought maybe I should lower the dosage to half a pill twice a day and did so but had weird feelings last week and the symptoms seem to be what others have written on their posts.
Avatar f tn i just discovered i have been giving my 41 year old daughter twice the amount of NEUTRA-PHOS-K powder as prescribed.....(the mgram amount is not listed on the packets) the prescribed dosage is one packet twice daily and i have been giving her 2 packets twice daily for about 2 weeks.....is she in any danger if i just go back to the prescribed dosage right now ?...
Avatar m tn ve seen comments with all kinds of opinions comparing the effectiveness of different forms of Prilosec (generic name omeprazole). But that are usually prescription brand-vs-generic, or OTC (non-prescription) brand-vs-generic. What I am looking for is real-life experiences from people who have moved from PRILOSEC OTC to GENERIC RX OMEPRAZOLE, or vice versa. I've been taking PRILOSEC OTC (non-prescription) for quite awhile, after years on the original prescription brand Prilosec.
Avatar m tn However, recently I discovered a generic version of omeprazole which when I take in the morning it does help with my breathing. However, when I take it for longer than 3-4 days, my breathing starts to be bad again. I am really confused and would appreciate some help. I read about vagus nerve, acid going into lungs I think I tried pretty much everything. One thing is that I live in Thailand and doctors here are by the book. I don't think many are even aware of silent reflux.
