I am a somewhat active guy who plays in some sports leagues throughout the year. A few weeks ago while playing I felt a burning pain near my spleen. It has continuted and goes away then comes back - sometimes tingling other times feeling like cramps.
I started omeprazole which helped for a couple weeks, and helped my upper stomach issues, i am able to eat and go longer with an empty stomach without getting sick, . Most of my symptoms cleared up, even my stool was normal but after eating a burrito which was a little spicy, it seemed like it came back, but a little less severe. Now i am dealing with upset stomach, bloating, stomach cramps (mostly at night trying to sleep with an empty stomach) and watery foul smelling diarrhea every morning.
s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted.
Does anyone have experience with taking this?

I have never heard of it prescribed for this before but it could help a little I suppose
more widely prescribed for GM are some of the big anti inflammatories - particularly prednisone or methotrexate
I did take Naproxen for some time, (months at a pretty high dose - it really attacks your stomach lining though so I went off), which I guess is a step up from advil, and is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID), can't say if it helped with the inflamma
As some of you know I suffer from severe health anxiety...I started going through a particularly bad time last fall...I am constantly afraid of headaches,fevers,muscle aches etc..as a result of this I started taking advil constantly and I am up to about 10 to 12 liquigels a day..If I don't take them my anxiety goes through the roof and I start to imagine headaches,pain etc...this can't be good for me..and I don't know how to stop...

We just found out yesterday I am expecting and figure im about 5 weeks. I have terrible headaches but I am allergic to tylenol, I have always just puked it up. Is there anything else I can take at this point?

I ALWAYS have to take medicine and take it easy for a few days during my period. I usually take Advil the day before my expected period because they say that it works better if you take it before the pain starts. It does for me. I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?
t correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.
I get up and have 2 or 3 cups of tea with sugar, should wait a 1/2 after taking the medicine before drinking the tea?
is omeprazole a nercotic pain killer? i know some medications that may b addicting so i thought i would double check..also i had seen that u can take in an i.v is this true and if so how?
