475555 tn?1469304339 What is it with this link-snipping stuff? Sheesh! Here are the missing words, in the same order: flaxcouncil bioriginal These are pretty worthwhile websites for anyone interested in beefing up their poly-unsaturated fatty acids. Flax seems to be better than fish and almost as good as chia (unfortunately, one of the chia species IS used in those horrendous pet thingies, but the one high in omega-3 fatty acids is apparently another species of chia that grows in Peru).
Avatar f tn This is literally the only thing that works for me. Been doing it for years. Chia is high in fiber and omega-3s as well which are good for baby!

7607165 tn?1395780125 U can put them in almost anything. They have almost no taste. Smoothies, yogurt, spaghetti sauce, quiche, enchiladas, literally anything! They're high in omega 3s, so great if ur don't eat fish or are a vegetarian! Enjoy!
Avatar f tn Flaxseeds are a good source of fiber and omega 3 fatty acids that help with brain development. Chia seeds are a good source of fiber and contain calcium and iron. Pregnant women should consume 1.1 grams per kilogram of body weight of protein per day. The shakes are not to be used as a meal replacement!!!
Avatar f tn Any veggie ladies out there? Any tricks or tips you've used to stay healthy during your pregnancy? Very been on chia seeds at the moment to get the omega 3s! Generally, I'm very healthy- eating organic, staying away from processed foods, taking my vitamins, daily moderate exercise, all that good stuff. Also my labs have always looked great. Just wondering if anyone has any tips I can work into my diet . Thanks in advance!!!
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if I can just take an omega-3 supplement, or should I eat all the foods this app is telling to to get it. I'm not much of a fish eater.
Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.
Avatar m tn I took an Omega-3 supplement for the first time before going to bed last night, and when I woke up one eye was very swollen and puffy. The only allergies I have had are seasonal. Could I be allergic to the Omega-3 supplement?
518994 tn?1212242047 I read where Omega 3 was good for your dog. Is it a different Omega 3 or is it the same that humans take?
1655526 tn?1330655629 I know that omega 3 is really supposed to be good for the heart, but I get palps after I take them for 3 days, especially krill oil. I've read in this forum that others have also had adverse reactions to taking this supplement. So I wanted to put this poll out to see how omega 3 affects you. The first time I suspected krill oil, which is supposed to be the best omega 3, I used the process of elimination. Still not believing it I did it a second and third time.
Avatar f tn A good way to start the day would be oat (I add vanilla and cinnamon for some flavour) add a teaspoon of ground flax seed or a teaspoon of chia seeds to your oats, both will provide you with omega 3. A little bit of knowledge can go a long way and all this info is readily available and I found it all very useful when switching to a vegan diet. It would be a shame for someone so young to suffer permanent damage from being underweight.
7557112 tn?1399509472 Try drinking some Chia Seeds, they give you a boost of energy naturally and are high in Omega 3 and antioxidants along with some other good stuff. My mom just bought some and I'm going to make a juice with it. I've tried the Mama Chia juices and they were good.
Avatar m tn Recently I heard that taking omega 3 capsules( the transparent one) will increase the risk of prostate cancer. Is there any scientific studies conducted on the subject?
Avatar m tn Quite a complex topic this but at the same time an interesting one. Omega 3 isn't just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints.
317787 tn?1473358451 Hi there! I just found this group and was wondering if anyone had tried Omega 3 supplements. I am trying them now for stiffness in joints, body. I've also read it can help with brain fog or fuzzy thinking.
4274823 tn?1388529098 Thanks for the list. I avoid soy and flax due to a health issue. I do eat pumpkin seeds and walnuts as well as plenty of vegetables and fruit. Interesting about papaya. Ideally I would like to get it from food rather than have to purchase an expensive supplement that I don't feel 100% comfortable with.
Avatar n tn I am not sure of your question. Are you asking where omega 3 and omega 6 foods come from? Omegas 3 / 6 are polyunsaturated oils that help lower cholesterol and help prevent blood platelets from clotting blood vessel walls. The best source is fish especially mackerel, tuna, salmon, and lake trout. Fish should be eaten 2-3 times a week. Omega 3 are found in whole nuts, soy nuts / oil, and canola oil. Recommend 1-2 teaspoons of nuts daily. Hope this answered your question.
