Avatar m tn Initially was put on temisartan 40mg by Doc, used it for 3-4 months and later dosage was reduced to 20mg but later switched to another medicine, olmesartan medoxomil hydrochlorothiazide (20+12.5) and since then using the same tablet till recently My readings were pretty normal and infact my doc was convinced and wanted to reduce my dosage to only olmesartan medoxomil. Of late i have developed severe anxiety disorder and panic attacks, so started using Inderal 20 on the advice of Psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn Is there any reasons to prefer or take losartan above olmesartan or the olmesartan above losartan. Person taking these is african, 57 years, female and oh, my mother.
Avatar m tn Morning - Olmesartan (H) 40mg, Metoprolol Succinate Extended Release 25mg; Evening - Olmesartan 40mg, Metoprolol Succinate Extended Release 25mg. Now, I have been further prescribed for 30 days, which I have started taking: Eltroxin 25mg empty stomach & Zyloric 100mg after breakfast. Kindly advise further.
Avatar n tn Diuretics? I have been on Benicar (olmesartan) for many years, works very nicely. Amlodipinealso said to work nicely but may diminish your taste reception.
Avatar m tn He changed my meds and prescribed 40mg olmesartan while waiting for the results to ease the symptoms. After 3 days, chest pain and shortness of breath was significantly reduced however I became dizzy when standing from sitting or lying down position. Doctor said orthostatic hypotension but was probably just dehydrated. Tried to cut the dose to 20mg and dizziness went away but the chest pain came back. So went back to 40mg. Tests came back. ECG normal. Echocardiogram, normal ventricles.
2009161 tn?1327915695 My doctor prescribed me to have olmesartan 20 mg per day, however as it is an ARB (Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker), I have been having it since 3 years, I have a strange feeling in the morning of pain in chest and goes away in seconds. Please advice if ACE inhibitors at the age of 35 is good for me?
Avatar m tn OK, so I recently developed a cough that's dry, and feels bronchial in nature. I think it might be related to a new medication I started (olmesartan); however, I'm more interested in the pain that I get in my arm. I've had it in the past when I had similar coughs. It's a very specific, sharp pain that occurs only in the left arm above the elbow. It's positioned medially along the bicep near the distal biceps tendon almost to where the triceps is.
Avatar m tn At present he has prescribed me Olemesartan Medoxomil/Amlodipine Besilate (40/5 mg) I need your suggestion. (My age is 43). My present weight is 97 kg and I have started brisk walking since last week and also I am on diet. How shall it me to bring LVS (55%. Doppler parameters are indicative of normal diastolic function. Left ventricular filling pressures are normal. Right ventricle: There is normal right ventricular cavitary dimensions. Right ventricular systolic function is normal.
Avatar m tn s not uncommon to have dizziness, you may want to as your doctor to try another. I prefer Angiotensin II antagonist drugs such as Olmesartan. They have a completely different mechanism and usually have fewer side effects. Don;t give up, your doctor can find one that works well for you with minimal side effects.
Avatar f tn white male in generally good health, maybe 5 or 10 lbs overweight, with well-controlled hypertension, no family history of bad diseases. Ordinarily, I take benicar (medoximil olmesartan) 20 mg to control my BP, which is normally in the range of 110--130 / 70--80. I measure my BP at home using an Omron Intellisense meter. I do a brisk 2.5 mile walk several times a week, and I also go to the gym, usually 1x or 2x/week.
18814286 tn?1468326748 Well firstly I would be very reluctant to stop the Olmesartan. Its been prescribed for good reason by your doctor. Well BP checks multiple times a day is far too much. You want to stop this routine? Best thing to do is take it like one day at a time. Except here its one hour at a time. Consciously say to yourself, each time you get the urge to check your BP, Ah sure i will check it in an hour. Just put off the moment, then each day go up an hour.
Avatar m tn LABETHOLOL 200MG, AMLODIPINE, THAZIDE, OLMESARTAN, SPIRONALDACTONE 50 M. ATORVASTATIN 40MG. WAS DOING OK, BUT LATELY HAVE DIFFICULTY ON EXERTION. DULL ACHE FEELING STARS IN BACK, DOWN BOTH ARMS, TOP OF CHEST AND ACHE IN NECK/JAW AFTER CONTINUING TO WALK. i KNOW IT SOUNDS LIKE ANGINA, BUT HAD A ANGIO A YEAR AGO AND WAS OK REGARDING BLOCKAGES VALVES ETC. AT THE TIME MY EF WAS BAD 15%, BUT WITH THE BP UNDER CONTROL IT CAME BACK TO 40%.
Avatar f tn I'm so glad to know that based on your liver treatment experience, BP can and do go down afterwards. I told my husband to ask his MD to prescribe him anti-hypertensive meds. He's now on ACE inhibitors: Olmesartan 20 mg, once daily... I'm really praying that he will get even better BP readings after his treatment for his Hep C...
Avatar m tn Go cheese and milk free for 3 months and see the difference. My case is severe so I still take one med only. For me I have good experience with olmesartan generic also known as olmetec. TALK to your doctor to lower your meds and do lifestyle and changes in diet to improve blood and heart health.
5265383 tn?1669040108 While medication side effect may vary from one person to another, some side effect of Olmetec or Olmesartan include fatigue, cold or flu-like symptoms as well as inflammation of the lining of the nose or rhinitis and inflammation of the throat or pharyngitis. Apart from other issues such as diabetes, drinking plenty of fluids may be directly or indirectly related symptom to taking of this medicine. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation.
Avatar f tn Well, I sure appreciate your thoughts!!! I've been posting on several different forums to see if anyone is dealing with something similar - and reading a ton more articles and forums - and nothing so far. For the first 8 or so months, everyone thought it had to be pheochromocytoma (an adrenal tumor) because every single symptom fit that diagnosis, but none of my tests show any of the abnormalities that would be there if I actually had an adrenal tumor.
Avatar m tn The Treatment Patients on the Marshall Protocol take a medication called olmesartan (called Benicar in the United States), which is able to bind and activate the VDR by pushing 25-D and bacterial proteins out of the receptor. Patients also lower levels of 25-D in the body by avoiding the kinds of vitamin D present in various foods. These measures renew the body’s ability to turn on the innate immune system and produce the anti microbial peptides.
Avatar m tn Accumulating evidence now supports the observation that a number of autoimmune diseases can be reversed by restoring VDR function (using the VDR agonist olmesartan) along with antibiotics. This includes rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosis, sarcoidosis, scleroderma, psoriasis, Sjogren's syndrome, autoimmune thyroid disease, and type I and II diabetes mellitus (Waterhouse et al., 2009; Proal et al., 2013).

646318 tn?1261181494 The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), telmisartan and olmesartan, for patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and chronic hepatitis C (CH-C). We analyzed the incidence of obesity, insulin resistance, and other disorders in patients with NAFLD (Group A), CH-C (Group B), or other liver diseases (Group C).
Avatar m tn A mild hypertension is managed well with a beta blocker (celiprolol) and olmesartan so that my blood pressure is pretty steady at around 120/80; some palpitations (PVCs and PACs) crop up after particularly stressful periods. I am a Civil Engineer with a PhD from Northwestern University and I am a faculty member at an established Greek University. The bane of my life (or so I think) is that both parents suffered from Alzheimer's (!) although they were diagnosed after 85 years of age.
Avatar f tn Just as a possibility for your research, the combination of carvedilol and Olmesartan/hydrochlorothiazide (a BP med and diuretic) made the most difference for me. Imdur didn't help enough for me, but I had to have the addition of a teeny tiny dose of 10 mg amitryptiline at night to help with those BP spikes.
