Avatar n tn Diuretics? I have been on Benicar (olmesartan) for many years, works very nicely. Amlodipinealso said to work nicely but may diminish your taste reception.
Avatar m tn After one month, bp was controlled at 120/80 but I now notice as if my stamina is weaker but what was significant was the fact that there was an redness and slight itchiness on my arms and legs. But there was no pain whatsoever. Took 2 weeks off the drug and the itchiness went away however, my heart feels like it was beating so hard. Then I was prescribed losartan 50mg.
Avatar m tn Initially was put on temisartan 40mg by Doc, used it for 3-4 months and later dosage was reduced to 20mg but later switched to another medicine, olmesartan medoxomil hydrochlorothiazide (20+12.5) and since then using the same tablet till recently My readings were pretty normal and infact my doc was convinced and wanted to reduce my dosage to only olmesartan medoxomil. Of late i have developed severe anxiety disorder and panic attacks, so started using Inderal 20 on the advice of Psychiatrist.
Avatar n tn I was recently put on a drug that had had a recent epidemiological (SP?) study that demonstrated a link to cancer. I forget which type. He said that it was absurd to think that a five year study could demonstrate such a link, that it takes longer for a drug to cause cancer. I have to assume that he also thinks its absurd to think that it would only take five years for a drug to cause a cancer that was 'dormant' to become active (detectable). Do you agree?
2009161 tn?1327915695 My doctor prescribed me to have olmesartan 20 mg per day, however as it is an ARB (Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker), I have been having it since 3 years, I have a strange feeling in the morning of pain in chest and goes away in seconds. Please advice if ACE inhibitors at the age of 35 is good for me?

Avatar f tn Does anyone know anything about RO5024048, a drug for HCV made by Roche? I have been asked to participate in the study. Any info is appreciated.
Avatar f tn It has had (VX 950) a really good track record so far but also is not perfect as their are reports of severe rashes and some evidence of viral mutations in the earlier trials. Being it is in phase 3 with a large group to study the picture will get a little clearer on that drug. I hope that helps and good luck in your decision just think long and hard about it first.

956931 tn?1271636169 The first arm will receive 100 mg of the study drug for 12 weeks and a placebo for the remaining 36 weeks. The second arm will receive 150 mg of the study drug for 12 weeks and a placebo for the rest, and so on. Each arm is different. Neither I nor the doctors or nurses conducting the study know which arm I am in. Only the drug company knows. I won't find out until the end of the study.
Avatar m tn OK, so I recently developed a cough that's dry, and feels bronchial in nature. I think it might be related to a new medication I started (olmesartan); however, I'm more interested in the pain that I get in my arm. I've had it in the past when I had similar coughs. It's a very specific, sharp pain that occurs only in the left arm above the elbow. It's positioned medially along the bicep near the distal biceps tendon almost to where the triceps is.
5265383 tn?1669040108 While medication side effect may vary from one person to another, some side effect of Olmetec or Olmesartan include fatigue, cold or flu-like symptoms as well as inflammation of the lining of the nose or rhinitis and inflammation of the throat or pharyngitis. Apart from other issues such as diabetes, drinking plenty of fluids may be directly or indirectly related symptom to taking of this medicine. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation.

Avatar f tn An MRA can provide significant antihypertensive benefit when added to existing multi-drug regimens. In a small study of patients taking an average of four anti-hypertensive medications, adding a MRA lowered blood pressure on average by an additional 25 mm Hg systolic and 12 mm Hg diastolic. Multi-drug regimens: “It seems most appropriate to continue to combine agents of different mechanisms of action,” the group wrote.
5112396 tn?1378017983 We were also randomised and blinded for the first 144 weeks (Phase III). On this particular study we were randomised into a group that got Avonex or a group that got daclizumab (the study drug). To make sure we didn't know what we were getting, I injected myself once a week at home with something that may or may not have been Avonex, and I went to the hospital once a month where I was injected with something that may or may not have been daclizumab.
768754 tn?1373918737 Hi everyone. I'm considering participating in a Phase II drug trial that combines Pegasys and Copegus with a third drug "BI 201335 NA". The BI study drug is supposed to work by preventing the virus from multiplying. This is a double-blind study with four Tx groups (with various doses of BI and one placebo combined with standard of care (SOC) tx). Chances of me receiving the BI drug in addition to SOC is 4:1. I'm a 42-yr old who has had the infection for about 23 years.

Avatar f tn I would rather have a drug that has been approved via a proper long term study that I can read than a natural drug that has no basis of fact that it is effective or safe. We do agree that every individual needs to be a responsible patient and research what they are asked to take. I have never started a drug that I don't first ask my doctor pointed questions about and then research on my own. I feel it is our responsibility. Thanks for your thoughts.
Avatar n tn Hi everyone, I was treated, unsuccessfully, 5 years ago with Peg-INF and RBV. Now, my doc wants to put me on new experimental study - Merck's drug (I believe MK-7009) that is in phase II. What are the chances with this drug? I'm 1b, btw. Thanks!
Avatar f tn s important before participating in any study to read as much as you can about the study drug, and also to read all the fine print on the study design and agreement. My husband recently finished a phase IIb study for another protease inhibitor, which worked out well for him, so I am generally pro-clinical trials. However, it's always very important to select the study carefully.
