5 yrs started complaining of stomach pain and diarrhea four days back when the doctor prescribed ofloxacin and metronidazole suspension which had some effect in the first two days but worsened later.
Subsequently we got his stool examined which tested positive with RBCs, mucous, pus cells and tiny specs of blood. The docter then gave ofloxacin and ornidazole suspension.
When I consume antibiotics (like levooflaxin, ofloxacin), antiamoebics (ornidazole, metronidazole), I remain fine for the time period I consume the medicines. After end of treatment, Issues re-appear again. This is now happening very frequently (once every 2 weeks).
I do not smoke, drink or use any other obnoxious drug.
he gave me another round of azithromycin 1g. after that i had another 10-day doxycycline course together with 2g metronidazole. still the symptoms are there.
i've done some research and i know i've taken an awful lot of drugs enough to kill whatever i have in my system but still i have all of the symptoms, though the discharge won't pop out unless i squeeze/milk my penis/glans, my urethra still itches. could it be i have something else?
Hi, I got a bride fitted on my top left side, it is 4 teeth and fits on the tooth next to the top left wisdom tooth, obviously that tooth was ground and made smaller for the bridge to fit on it, the tooth was absolutely healthy and fine, i have never had any problems with that tooth earlier, the day grinding took place that tooth became sore, very very sensitive and I had to get temp.
If it had failed, the re-treatment with ceftriaxone plus doxycycline 100 mg twice daily, plus a single 2000 mg treatment with metronidazole is the recommended therapy for refractory urethritis.
Given how unusual your situation is, I find myself wondering if something other than an STD could be going on. did any of the therapies you have taken make any difference in your symptoms?
Once I hear a bit more detail form you , I suspect I will have further comments.
One swab test did show some pus cells so I was treated with Ofloxacin for 2 weeks which made no difference to my symptoms.
In the end the clinic had done all the tests they thought relevant so I went to a private clinic to see if they offered any additional testing. So I was screened for all manner of things and the only test to come back positive was gardnerella.
Upon reading through the forums related to STDs, found out that some folks were prescribed with ofloxacin. Without consulting a doctor, I am self medicating now after googling what's ofloxacin is for. 3 days ago I took 2 400mg and subsequently 200mg every 12 hours. So far, the irritation when I'm urinating and the tingling has subsided significantly. My question is, shall I still continue taking the ofloxacin until the 7th or 10th day from the day I started taking it?
During the first 2 months my symptoms were burning sensation when I urinate and a very foul smelling white to yellowish discharge. Went to a OB Gyne, she checked me and prescribed me Metronidazole, Doxycycline hyclate 2 times a day for 1 week and albothyl vaginal suppository. I thought I was going to be cured coz the smell went away but to my dismay the discharge is still there, only that now its frothy and my vagina itches. I went to see her (the dr) again and told me I had UTI.
On 3/21/07 she had stomach flu,5/24/07 she woke up with a bloody looking eye it's ALWAYS on the same eye (right)on the inner part of the sclera & it never spreads to the other eye,she always says it hurts & it swells up a little. Her pediatrician thought it was conjuvitis & rx Ofloxacin .3% it cleared up in 3 days.
If all of this has to do with the Ofloxacin, is the dermatological response still to treat the symptoms of the rash with the Doxycycline, or is there a medical way to counter all of these effects (if due to some sort of Ofloxacin reaction or build up of yeast in the body)? Many questions, sorry to be so exhaustive, your help/advice would be so greatly appreciated.
I am currently taking ofloxacin (local meds) 400 mg 3x a day for 5 days for my uti. Will it also cure any possible std(gonorrhea/chlamydia) if i have one?
I contracted NGU through oral sex and was prescribed 10 days of Ofloxacin. I had urine test at 21 after the last pill which came out negative. My question is if it was too early to test? I still have clear discharge 1-2 times per week in the morning.
The pains you describe can occur with ovarian cysts, endometriosis or just monthly hormonal changes. Seeing your doctor is the best bet!

I'm a 40 year-old American living in Thailand. A few months ago I had unprotected sex with a female coworker. About 10-12 days later I noticed a burning sensation in the tip of my penis (it felt similar to when soap gets in the urethra). The burning intensified over the next few days. It does not hurt when I urinate and no need to urinate more than normal. There is no discharge - just a slight whitish mucous visible only if I squeeze the tip. Co-worker has no symptoms.
Hi ladies ! I was given this drug to help with BV. I'm currently 23 weeks as of today, and this is my first baby. Have any of you taken it before and had any issues? Early this year over new year I was submitted to hospital for emergency treatment on a corneal ulcer and was kept in hospital for three days and given intensive treatment of ofloxacin eye drops every hour, then released from hospital and continued to be on ofloxacin eye drops every 2 hours and steroid drops every 2 hours with frequent visits to the hospitals eye clinic to monitor my progress.
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
I had to take it last week for 5 days. Everything is great with baby. It does say that there is no harm to take it however I understand your concern. I'm 27w 5d I'm sure I would've been me hesitant at 6 weeks.
I just finished a week on it. Same here, bacterial vaginosis. I had it 3 times with my second pregnancy. It was miserable. Hoping I don't have to take that stuff ever again!
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
