Ocella is great

Common Questions and Answers about Ocella is great

yaz

Avatar f tn Well Ocella is the generic for Yasmin. I was taking Yasmin for 2 years, when last month I was given Ocella. Well I wasn;t too thrilled with it, as I had cramps for 5 days plus I started my period 1 day late. They say generic is always the same, but for me I felt a difference. It could be from the pill. Your body needs to adjust being on it. Side affects should lessen by the third month.
Avatar f tn I am SO sorry to hear about this terrible family tragedy, and after seeing for myself some information on the issue of this drug ocella (generic for Yasmin), it appears there is a possibility the birth control brought your daughter down, particularly since that was the only thing she was doing differently when all this started. It's a scary thing that medicines can do this to people, I just wonder how well these things are tested and so forth.
Avatar n tn Earlier in May I missed three days of my pills and started to bleed. So I stopped taking it because I was going into my placebo week. I had my period then stopped for a day or two then started spotting that's never happen to me. I got my new pack and started taking them and now I feel nauseous as ever and I'm in my second week going to my third week...
Avatar m tn I was wondering if switching birth control pills could have helped maximize the anxiety. I switched from yaz to ocella and have only been on ocella for a few months and the anxiety started like a month ago.
Avatar f tn I am currently on Ocella (generic for Yasmin), I have been on it for almost a month, I start the inactive pills tomorrow night. Before I took Ocella, I was taking Yaz(and I switched immediatly). My last period lasted for 3-4 days. I should start my period on March 11th. Yesterday I had light pinkish/red blood when I wiped and some cramping and now I am having light brown discharge that is odorless. I have not missed any pills, and I do have unprotected sex.
Avatar n tn The ER doc said it might be endometriosis or my birth control pill that is causing it. If anyone is taking Ocella have you had this problem before? and what do I need to do?
Avatar f tn Hello, I am taking Lybrel only as an alternative to end my periods. I am not in any relationship, I already have an IUD (paraguard). I don't need to take birth control pills but I am only taking Lybrel because I heard that it ends periods. I hate having my period because not only are they uncomfortable but I go through severe pms. I asked the doctor for them and she prescribed them for me. However, I've been bleeding (having my periods) for three months now!
Avatar f tn I took two more one did not have an answer the data other neg. I have 3 kids already. My concern is stil no period but somr pain on right side here and there. I go to my obgyn in a few days.
Avatar f tn Recently I switched to nights and I've found it difficult to maintain taking my birth control on time ( I've been on ocella for years). Before my bf and I started having sex I had one very brown only slightly bloody period for a few days. We had sex for the first time (protected) around June 12 and around June 23 I had very dark brown bleeding for about 2-3 days. too early for my period. I'm worried it may be implantation bleeding.
Avatar f tn I have been on Ocella for the past 10 months. I'm finding that the past few months I am consistently anxious and depressed. I am concerned that it could be the birth control that I am on. I would like to know if there are any b.c. pills that limit this side effect. I also find that my libido is less strong. All of these symptoms are affecting my relationship. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Gianvi is the same formulation as Yaz, execept in generics fillers are different. Ocella is supposed to be the same as Yasmine, but fillers are diferrent and I reacted differently on ocella. Yaz has 24 pils and Yasmine 21. Yaz is supposed to take care of the PMDD symtoms better. 10. My MIND is a lot cleared on YAZ but the side effects and physical effects are unhealthy and I have not been able to engage in excercise etc because of the symtoms.
Avatar f tn If you have been on the pill for at least 2 months you should be fine for protection since it stays in your system and takes at least a full month to fully leave your system, though your blank/sugar pills are usually when you are on your period...
Avatar f tn At the end of September I was switched from Syeda to Ocella. I was about two weeks late picking up my prescription. On October 5th I was sexually active and it was during the first week of my pill pack. I ended up starting my withdraw bleed during the third week of my active pills. It was light and spotty, only when I wiped. It lasted 10 days. About three days into the spotting I got sore breasts, which I have never gotten before.
Dinosaur I do the same thing and take my pills for a few months at a time skipping the placebos. I'm not sure what you're referring to when you skip the reduced hormone pills, because I thought you could only skip the placebo pills if you were on a monophasic drug (not triphasic). To answer your question, though, I also get break through bleeding if I've been doing this for 3 months or so. I think it just means that your body is ready to have a period.
Avatar f tn Yasmin is the one they have on TV all the time that causes blood clots and what not. I noticed a couple small bumps on my nipples and they are slightly darker than they were before all this. I have no idea when my next period should be since I am so messed up haha. What has got me the most confused is that the spotting I had lasted for 10 days and that seems a little much to me. And thank you for the help too! :) I'm going to pick up a test next time I go to the store.
Avatar n tn Also it is not uncommon for us to sometimes miss a period in general, so being on the pill is the same thing. I asked my doctor when i missed my June period, he said it could just be one of those things...or maybe a cyst. It all worked out, because I got my July period on time. I would say wait it out another week, if no period take a test and see your doctor.
5395363 tn?1367334419 Okay, I am on the birth control Ocella and I just got done with my period a week or so ago. My boyfriend and I had sex sunday and he came in me, then yesterday we did it twice and he came in me both times. I'm worried about possibly being pregnant. Is it possible to get pregnant even if i take my pill everyday at the same time all the time??
Avatar f tn im also 14 and on ocella, a birthcontrol pill, the pills DO NOT stop your period, it just makes it less then a usual week, mine is 5 days. Now the DEPO shot, you may have your period non stop for about a month, the horomnoes in the shot finishes cleaning you out...
Avatar f tn My boyfriend and I are sexually active, we've been together for about 2 years. I am on birth control (Ocella) but, he always pulls out before ejaculating. He's never "busted" inside of me. I haven't missed a period, but do you think I'm at all possible of being pregnant? HELP PLEASE! Thanks!
Avatar n tn Well my gyn nurse practitioner called and I guess there is new evidence out that Yasmin is causing causes more blood clots than other BCPs, and this is a risk that increases as you get older. She’d like me to switch BCP. Which is not as straightforward as she thinks. I’m not sure if Kaiser is yanking my chain and just wanting me to take a generic BCP, the only thing I can find is a study published recently in the British Medical Journal.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately there is always pre-*** and there are millions of sperm, alive and well, in it. If you are not taking birth control regularly, MAKE your boyfriend wear a condom and use a contraceptive foam (both available at any pharmacy without parental permission). Also, be aware that you can contract an STD that will be with you forever, even if you don't get pregnant.
Avatar f tn Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise considering one of two options. The first would be to proceed with laparoscopy to directly evaluate and possibly correct the "blockages" seen on the hsg. The second option would be to go on to IVF. Which option is right for you depends upon financial circustances and availability of services. You could also continue doing what you are doing for another 6 months, but, moving forward would seem to be a better option. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Me and my boyfriend had made love about 2 days ago. and the condom had broke and we didn't feel it break. So now I don't know if I'm pregnant or not. I'm on Ocella (Birth Control) and I was wondering do I take the pill even though I have an irregular period?
1122431 tn?1263315441 i calculated when i would of ovulated and it said tht i had high fertility on the 3rd and ovulation on the 8th...i was taking ocella the birth controll pill...but i only took it for 2 days...then stopped....yesterday would of been the day to start my period and i usually am really regular...i am hopeing i am not pregnant..is there any other reason for my period to be late...maybe bc i started taking the pill then stopped right away...and if i am pregnant...
