My healthy 20 yr. old daughter was taken Ocella Birth Control Pills for 2- 3 months when she began experiencing severe headaches. She would take Tylenol, and eventually the headache would go away. At the time we did not make the relation between headaches and birth control pills. One particular day she complained of a headache, pain in her right shoulder/arm, blurry vision in her right eye, and she couldn't remember certain things that normally she remembered.
Well Ocella is the generic for Yasmin. I was taking Yasmin for 2 years, when last month I was given Ocella. Well I wasn;t too thrilled with it, as I had cramps for 5 days plus I started my period 1 day late. They say generic is always the same, but for me I felt a difference. It could be from the pill. Your body needs to adjust being on it. Side affects should lessen by the third month.

I am currently on Ocella (generic for Yasmin), I have been on it for almost a month, I start the inactive pills tomorrow night. Before I took Ocella, I was taking Yaz(and I switched immediatly). My last period lasted for 3-4 days. I should start my period on March 11th. Yesterday I had light pinkish/red blood when I wiped and some cramping and now I am having light brown discharge that is odorless. I have not missed any pills, and I do have unprotected sex.
At first I felt good, but around the second pack I started getting horrible headaches, my periods would stretch out to a week instead of a few days, I would breakout, and I had terrible mood swings. Interestingly enough, my best friend started getting the same symptoms as me after taking Yaz and she hadn't even been on birth control before, so I had the feeling we probably weren't alone. I don't know why I switched, but I am definitely going back to Yasmin because Yaz is just evil!!
Earlier in May I missed three days of my pills and started to bleed. So I stopped taking it because I was going into my placebo week. I had my period then stopped for a day or two then started spotting that's never happen to me. I got my new pack and started taking them and now I feel nauseous as ever and I'm in my second week going to my third week...
If you like bananas and orange juice, try to eat those and drink OJ at least once a day and see what happens. Your potassium levels may be low which can cause the dizziness and headaches. The OJ will provide the Vitamin C that we need as well. I hope this helps. Also, you may want to request a MRI just to be on the safe side.
I had to bring her a print out, and this was on my second appointment. In the beginning she prescribed ocella, I stoped because it was making me bleed. She told me that I shouldn't had stoped because it was my body adapting to the pill. When I read about Lybrel, I immediately printed the information and asked for it. I had faith on this pill. My period started on Feb. 11 while on Lybrel and I have menstrual staining, occassional bleeding, every single day.
Recently I switched to nights and I've found it difficult to maintain taking my birth control on time ( I've been on ocella for years). Before my bf and I started having sex I had one very brown only slightly bloody period for a few days. We had sex for the first time (protected) around June 12 and around June 23 I had very dark brown bleeding for about 2-3 days. too early for my period. I'm worried it may be implantation bleeding.
I have been on Ocella for the past 10 months. I'm finding that the past few months I am consistently anxious and depressed. I am concerned that it could be the birth control that I am on. I would like to know if there are any b.c. pills that limit this side effect. I also find that my libido is less strong. All of these symptoms are affecting my relationship. Any suggestions?

Although they claim to not have any difference, I was on Yasmin (brand name) for a while and then was switched too Ocella (Generic) and I did notice slight changes in my period. In fact, I never missed a single period on Yasmin, but did miss one while on Ocella. The blue veins, I mean if your fair skin like me, I notice the veins all the time. Sometimes they are bluer then normal, but you can't always go by that being a symptom of pregnancy.
At the end of September I was switched from Syeda to Ocella. I was about two weeks late picking up my prescription. On October 5th I was sexually active and it was during the first week of my pill pack. I ended up starting my withdraw bleed during the third week of my active pills. It was light and spotty, only when I wiped. It lasted 10 days.
About three days into the spotting I got sore breasts, which I have never gotten before.
im also 14 and on ocella, a birthcontrol pill, the pills DO NOT stop your period, it just makes it less then a usual week, mine is 5 days. Now the DEPO shot, you may have your period non stop for about a month, the horomnoes in the shot finishes cleaning you out...
My boyfriend and I are sexually active, we've been together for about 2 years. I am on birth control (Ocella) but, he always pulls out before ejaculating. He's never "busted" inside of me. I haven't missed a period, but do you think I'm at all possible of being pregnant?

I have heard about Yaz and Yasmin causing more of a risk for blood clots in women....BUT (yes there is a but) almost all birth control pills can cause blood clots especialy if you have had them before, or have had a family history of them. If your nurse wants you to switch to a genric then you can still take Yasmin (but it would be Ocella). It's the same thing.

I haven't missed my period or anything, but I'm still nervous about the whole thing. Do you happen to know if I'm okay, or not?
#2 I have been taking my birth control, Ocella (28 pills) for 1 month, if I stop taking it will my periods come back since they were absent for so long? I have had 1 period so far, since I started my BC. I got my period on the 23rd of this month.
#3 can I still get pregnant, if I dont have my period after I stop taking the pill?
I'm not exactly sure when I could predict ovulation.
Me and my boyfriend had made love about 2 days ago. and the condom had broke and we didn't feel it break. So now I don't know if I'm pregnant or not. I'm on Ocella (Birth Control) and I was wondering do I take the pill even though I have an irregular period?
The ER doc said it might be endometriosis or my birth control pill that is causing it. If anyone is taking Ocella have you had this problem before? and what do I need to do?

The blood clots i had to pass with it were soooo horrible. Theres a reason theres a lawsuit against mirena beyaz and ocella. Ill never use an intrauterine contraceptive bc there's just NOT enough time tested proof of the side effects yet. Im sticking with pills, accidentally pregnancy is WAAAY more worth the risk than anything I went through with mirena. Btw I do not react to most medicines, have NO known medical allergies, and have a pretty B.A. immunity system and pain tolerance.

I just recently turned 22. I remember being little and seeing the floater in my right eye that I still have, only now I see it more often. I remember not wanting to go on computers, anything with bright lights, etc. when I was little (11-14?) due to the fact that I would always catch a glimpse of this floater. At the time I didn't know what it was... later in life I developed bad chronic anxiety since I was about 15.

I opted for trying to shrink it. She called in a prescription for Ocella, which made me nauseous, flu-like aches with headache, exhausted, plus the added benefit of feeling DEPRESSED. LOL. Once I recognized it was the Ocella causing side effects, I called and had the second conversation with the PA, during which she couldn't answer any questions but changed the prescription to Jolessa, which I am tolerating without side effects.
