Well Ocella is the generic for Yasmin. I was taking Yasmin for 2 years, when last month I was given Ocella. Well I wasn;t too thrilled with it, as I had cramps for 5 days plus I started my period 1 day late. They say generic is always the same, but for me I felt a difference. It could be from the pill. Your body needs to adjust being on it. Side affects should lessen by the third month.
My healthy 20 yr. old daughter was taken Ocella Birth Control Pills for 2- 3 months when she began experiencing severe headaches. She would take Tylenol, and eventually the headache would go away. At the time we did not make the relation between headaches and birth control pills. One particular day she complained of a headache, pain in her right shoulder/arm, blurry vision in her right eye, and she couldn't remember certain things that normally she remembered.
I am currently on Ocella (generic for Yasmin), I have been on it for almost a month, I start the inactive pills tomorrow night. Before I took Ocella, I was taking Yaz(and I switched immediatly). My last period lasted for 3-4 days. I should start my period on March 11th. Yesterday I had light pinkish/red blood when I wiped and some cramping and now I am having light brown discharge that is odorless. I have not missed any pills, and I do have unprotected sex.
I have had the tumor removed and have clean margins. I am T2 N1 M0, Estrogen Positive, HER2 Negative, 1 node was positivie. I have had all the test on the rest of my body and everything was clean.
My question is about chemo. I am taking TAC. I have had 2 treatments so far--they have made me very sick for 14 days or more. I was told I need to have a total of 6 treatments. I was wondering what you think about having 3 full treatments and the last 3 half dose treatments.
Earlier in May I missed three days of my pills and started to bleed. So I stopped taking it because I was going into my placebo week. I had my period then stopped for a day or two then started spotting that's never happen to me. I got my new pack and started taking them and now I feel nauseous as ever and I'm in my second week going to my third week...
The light headedness is different than usual. They no longer last a short amount of time but long periods of time. I have odd heartbeats (went to the cardiologist but they didn't see anything) that actually hurts when it happens.
The lightheadedness is what worries me. I can be sitting down, moving around or just putting clothes in the dryer when it starts. It's like when you are on an amusement park ride that spins you around and you get off and your mind is still spinning.

She told me that I shouldn't had stoped because it was my body adapting to the pill. When I read about Lybrel, I immediately printed the information and asked for it. I had faith on this pill. My period started on Feb. 11 while on Lybrel and I have menstrual staining, occassional bleeding, every single day.
Recently I switched to nights and I've found it difficult to maintain taking my birth control on time ( I've been on ocella for years). Before my bf and I started having sex I had one very brown only slightly bloody period for a few days. We had sex for the first time (protected) around June 12 and around June 23 I had very dark brown bleeding for about 2-3 days. too early for my period. I'm worried it may be implantation bleeding.
I have been on Ocella for the past 10 months. I'm finding that the past few months I am consistently anxious and depressed. I am concerned that it could be the birth control that I am on. I would like to know if there are any b.c. pills that limit this side effect. I also find that my libido is less strong. All of these symptoms are affecting my relationship. Any suggestions?
SO they gave me Ocella, the generic of Yasmine....for the first time I had side effects. On Yasmine, I had not side effects that bothered me enough to take into account. All I know is after years of riding the roller coaster of PMDD /Hairloss/body hair growth, I felt like the sun came back up on Yasmine.
My nurse changed me to Yaz in July. As I write this I about to switch back to Yasmine and the pharmarcy has lost my presciption..so I am cying!
I think the most common symptom of low estrogen is hot flashes. If you're not having those, you might be OK on the amount of estrogen. Try what the gyn says and if it doesn't work, get your dose tweaked.
She has been six feet tall since she was 12 when she was given estrogen to stop her growth. She claims to have no sex drive at all. Never has. Other than the lack of libido, she is healthy. I understand there are any number of things that can effect libido, but is it possible the estrogen therapy is a contributing factor--and if so, is there anything we can do about it now?

Although they claim to not have any difference, I was on Yasmin (brand name) for a while and then was switched too Ocella (Generic) and I did notice slight changes in my period. In fact, I never missed a single period on Yasmin, but did miss one while on Ocella. The blue veins, I mean if your fair skin like me, I notice the veins all the time. Sometimes they are bluer then normal, but you can't always go by that being a symptom of pregnancy.
At the end of September I was switched from Syeda to Ocella. I was about two weeks late picking up my prescription. On October 5th I was sexually active and it was during the first week of my pill pack. I ended up starting my withdraw bleed during the third week of my active pills. It was light and spotty, only when I wiped. It lasted 10 days.
About three days into the spotting I got sore breasts, which I have never gotten before.
They only thing she may consider is an estrogen ring which only releases a small amount of estrogen which absorbs locally. Very little is actually released into the bloodstream. This would only be used if other non-hormonal lubricants did not work. This will not do much for other menopausal symptoms.
im also 14 and on ocella, a birthcontrol pill, the pills DO NOT stop your period, it just makes it less then a usual week, mine is 5 days. Now the DEPO shot, you may have your period non stop for about a month, the horomnoes in the shot finishes cleaning you out...
I am 51 and going through peri menopause and had my hormone levels checked my Estrogen is 5x the amount it should be . I had the pelvic ultrasound inside and out and showed nothing, but my Regular MD is unsure and wants to send me to a Gyn , she is very concerned but I have read a lot about Estogen Dominince and it's common and also says it can be brought down by progesterone is this true?
Femara is used in estrogen receptor positive breast cancers to prevent cancer recurrence. It decreases the amount of estrogen in the body. Estrogen protects bone strength and if estrogen levels fall then there are increased chances of osteoporosis which can result in fractures. So calcium supplements are prescribed along with femara.There are few studies that do suggest that calcium supplements increase the risk of heart attacks. Discuss it with your doctor.
Or on how estrogen impacts B6 levels? Has anyone had any experience with the use of natural progesterone or estrogen with B6 toxicity? Prior to this, I frequently used natural progesterone during the last part of my cycle (day #12 thru day #26). I hadn't touched the stuff though still dealing w/ this B6 problem.
My period is late by about two days, and it is often quite irregular, but I believe this is due to the immense amount of stress I have been through this past month with school and personal issues. I have been having weird nipple darkening, excess white/clear sticky (and thick) discharge, and I often feel quite sick. To induce my period, however, I have been taking large doses of Vitamin C (3,000mg-4,000mg) for the past week (to help increase estrogen levels).
This is correct - it sounds very odd, but it’s true that men actually need some minimum amount of estrogen to have libido & sexual function. Dropping estrogens to near zero will mess up your sexual functioning...
