nitrostat

5520965 tn?1506009040 Hi there, Non-urgent question - sent to my cardiologist but he's out of town for a few days. I'm on Isosorbide mononitrate ( generic Imdur ) 30mg once a day, and I have an active scrip for Nitrostat as well, to treat my angina. If ever needed, can a Nitrostat SL be taken when I'm already on Isosorbide Mononitrate without harmful effect?
1500525 tn?1458529998 I was dx w/CHF in 2014. I've had 3 heart attacks & my ef was about 15 about 6 months ago. I don't take any cardiac med w/the exception nitrostat when needed bcuz I also have ALS. The 2 illnesses r completely unrelated according to the Drs I saw at Mayo, Hopkins & NIH.But for that reason I dont take any medications for the heart failure.as of lately during my last echo I was told that I now also have Afib.
Avatar m tn hi guys im just a little bit confuse about what doctor said that boiling has no effect on stability of HCV outside the body but this article said heat have a drastic effect on HCV life so that means boiling can kill HCV ( http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2834657/ ) HCVcc in culture medium was found to survive 37°C and room temperature (RT, 25 ± 2°C) for 2 and 16 days, respectively, while the virus was relatively stable at 4°C without drastic loss of infectivity for at least 6 weeks.
Avatar n tn I get home an hour later they call me saying they say a shadow on/around the heart..probably blockage. They immediately phone in Nitrostat, and 25 mg of Metorpolol. This has me on high alert. I went 9 minutes on the stress test with no pain what so ever. I am 40lbs overweight, fairly active, and female, I eat pretty healthy, but my family history has a lot of heart failure. I see the doctor next week. Before I go I am to fitted with a heart monitor halter for 24 hours.
232967 tn?1257740086 Well yes they explain to me that I do have Heart failure but not active right now it was a couple of weeks ago when I had water on me and he increase my Lasix. I do have the Dypnea everyday and the chest pain which I'm on imdur and Nitrostat. Well I'm going to get the hang of it one day @ a time.
1500525 tn?1458529998 t take any cardiac med w/the exception of isosorbide and nitrostat when needed bcuz of a separate unrelated illness but as of lately the isosorbide isn't working well. My question is, recently I have been getting angina below my left rib cage & pretty severe dizzy spells that stop my train of thought(nothing else has changed except I have been getting pain behind my left shoulder.
Avatar f tn You are in a tight spot right now but you are going to have to figure out what is more important here, your financial stability or your mental stability. Maybe your kids will have to go to public school, you may have to downsize your living arrangements etc. I know this is easier said than done but to rely on your husband right now is only going to get you further in the hole. You said you love the stability you have but i dont see it. I hope you continue with alanon.
888550 tn?1241030258 I just seen my Cardilogists today and he up my Lasix to 40 mg a day He keep my Coreg 12.5mg for now and My Imdur is the same and I also use Nitrostat when needed which is every other day sometimes. I aslo have Diabetic Mircovascular Heart Disease. Well in three months he is going to recheck my pressure to see where we are @ right now . It was so hard to hear him say Congestive Heart Failure and i think he didn't want to say it either I don't know why it was hard for him to say it.
Avatar f tn 5 mg Norvasc daily and 50mg metoprolol twice a day. (and 0.4 mg nitrostat as needed) But they have had no impact at all on the frequency of chest pains or exercise intolerance. I am not Diabetic... my Gastroparesis is believed to be from either Autonomic Neuropathy or Mitochondrial Disease. I have been tested in the past many times for adrenal issues (including pheochromocytoma) as well as cushings, carciniods, zollinger ellison....
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with MVP about 30 years ago. I have angina from time to time, usually when I'm at rest and I carry nitrostat with me in case the angina becomes unbearable. - MVP is very common and I only had a bad episode once when I thought a heart attack was imminent. Turned out to be an anxiety attack. However, people who have anxiety attacks frequently should be monitored by a cardiologist. At present, I see my cardiologist once a year for a check up or nuclear test.
Avatar m tn X-ray is taken to determine if the bone is solid for implant placement in my pracrice. Primary stability is critically important for successful osseointegration. It appears that tr33704's condition did'nt achieve primay stability and final ossointegration was unsuccessful.
614519 tn?1258194301 Last week i went to a pdoc for the first time and he assessed me and told me I dont have BP, I dont have cyclothymia and he almost said i have nothing. Avatar f tn the toes grip the ground for stability and do so more often when people have flat feet. when the toes do this, the knuckle portion rubs against the shoes, causing discoloration and callusing. i recommend wearing a shoe with a higher toe box to prevent the rubbing. also, wearing an orthotic can help give you stability and prevent the toes from gripping the ground as much when walking.
Avatar n tn s out there for people to be labeled at inadequent in mental stability when the thyroid ( or not having one) isreally the problem. If you google up iodine and Free T3 hormone you will see a direct link to low functioning or non thyroid individuals and a connection on mental stability with this condition.
Avatar f tn My husband is BP I, has been hospitalized but has had 10 + years of relative stability. Certainly there have been highs and lows, but more similar to cyclothymia than the full blown mania/depression episodes. He is exploring the idea of reducing/going off of lithium. He is 50, had his first major episode at 17, had significant cycling in his 20's and mid 30's including job loss, suicidal issues, schizophrenia overlays, but his last really major incident was probably 14 years ago.
Avatar f tn Mostly when I lay down at night or do anything (walking, stairs, etc) right after a meal. Some shortness of breath also. I have started using the Nitrostat again but I am really depressed to think that the old symptoms can come again with all the work I've done to keep them away. I will use the NG until I get up to the "3 limit" before going back to Dr. I had 2 surgeries in 07 and that only makes this more depressing.
Avatar m tn The cardio had also given me an rx for 25 mg metroprolol 2x daily and nitrostat. (this on top of my 30mg benazepril). But my resting pulse rate is typically 47-55, so how low would the metro send it? The cardio said try it as an "experiment." He seems to be continuing to interpret my throat tightening as angina. The throat tightening is a sensation of not being able to physically get enough air across my throat.
Avatar m tn But stability is the main issue for which I used to use cervical soft collar prescribed by doctor. I am left my job as well for rest purposes. Another thing is bleeding from mouth. I don't know from where it comes but it often comes after I get up in the morning. Normally does not come in normal day routine and my routine is so light. I am almost resting. Please guide me basically what't the issue which is causing specially head un stability and other symptoms again.
874521 tn?1424116797 thx for the reply...interesting. he has been on seroq. for quite awhile without this issue, however it was upped at the same time as adding the lithium..so perhaps it is the culprit. he too bangs and bumps into things when up foraging for food, so much so that it wakes his wife up who than goes to investigate to see if he is okay, don't believe he suffers the nightmares tho........
