572651 tn?1530999357 I have nitroquik - sublingual nitroglycerin - to take if I have angina pains - this morning about 5 am I was miserable and couldn't tell if it was heart or ms symptoms and I took one. As always it stopped my discomfort, depressed my already low blood pressure and I went to sleep for about 3 hours. I've used nitroquik for the past 3 months or so and it always stops the pain and gives me relief within minutes.
1015873 tn?1261271548 Well, I really like Lucas from Mother 3. He's a good, kind little boy who is put through heck and back all because of a spoiled brat. I admire how well he deals with his trials, and I just want to give him a big hug.
Avatar m tn And why would you use something that is not prescribed your MD. Nitroglycerin is not a.drug to mess with. If it ended up on the wrong person, in the wrong concentration, there could be severe consequences.
Avatar f tn If you miss a dose of Nitroglycerin Patch, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once. When used for long periods of time without a break, some people develop a physical need to continue taking Nitroglycerin Patch. This is known as physical DEPENDENCE. Do not suddenly stop taking Nitroglycerin Patch without your doctor's approval.
Avatar n tn Well, Viagra is not safe at all in the presence of nitroglycerin tablets and in fact, we know that if anyone takes Viagra with nitroglycerin tablets, that the blood pressure can be lowered precipitously and can be lowered to such levels as can be extraordinarily dangerous to you. [ABC News report from May 2008 - Internet] As we know, not everyone experiences negative side effects from every medication.
Avatar n tn ed is correct nitro dilates vessels. I take a nitrate (isosorbide) for more than 6 years 3 times before going to gym for workout. My blood pressure does not drop between intervals...in fact I was told to have intervals of nitrate free period. It is true, nitro dilates the coronary vessels and prevents angina (chest pain). The patch should only be worn for up to 12 to 14 hours a day, or as directed by your doctor, but continued use with no interruptions can cause a tolerance for drug....
Avatar m tn One study found that taking 2 grams three times daily of vitamin C can decrease this effect when nitroglycerin patches are simultaneously used.2 Similar benefits have been confirmed in another study.3 However, it should be noted that it is also possible to avoid tolerance to these drugs by simply changing the dosing schedule. People taking ISMN or nitroglycerin should talk with their pharmacists about avoiding drug tolerance. I change dosing schedules!
Avatar m tn I have been experiencing left sided chest pains and left arm pain for several months now...I would describe the pain to be mostly pressure/tightnes in nature, sometimes it could be sharp in nature, the pain shoots down my left arm. The pain lasts anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. I have been prescribed nitroglycerin to take as needed for chest pain and this medicine surely helps. I've had several EKGs and cardiac enzymes done which were all normal.
Avatar f tn Another tough call. I currently play games on a PSP, PS2, Xbox, and the computer. I wouldn't give any one of 'em up either. I love my PSP...great graphics, portable, great when someone's watchin' the t.v. and I want to play a game that's not on the computer. I have always been a Sony-person, so I love my PS2 and the majority of my games are PS2s.
Avatar n tn I was being treated for pneumonia with 10 days of levaquin and lodrain 24 D. On the fifth day I started having moderate and continual pain between my sholder blades in the upper back and heartburn (no heartburn for 25 years previously) and extreme fatigue. I thought it was the pneumonia and didn't go to the doctor for five days. My blood test then showed troponin was high, doctor said I may have had a heart attack. Doctor wanted a stress test ... which showed normal.
Avatar n tn I have occasion severe pain in the upper back behind heart region. Have had stent in major heart artery. Nitroglycerine immediately stops pain...not similar to pain before stent inserted. Former pain was in chest, jaw, and arm. Is this heart related or spine ? Usually occurs at night, wakes me up. Very infrequent.
Avatar m tn The same with his recent heart catherization was chest pressure. In the ER he was given 2 nitroglycerin, 5 minutes apart, the chest pressure went away after the 2nd nitroglycerin. Does any good specialist in cardiology think that my husband should have the open heart surgery for bypasses considering the risks regarding his age, his diabetes? I would appreciate very explanatory answers, easy to understand, what to do in my husband's situation. Thankyou.
Avatar n tn I assume the diagnosis of hyperreactive responses not only to the constrictor effects of acetylcholine, but also the dilator effects of nitroglycerin were detected diffusely in the epicardial coronary arteries of patients with coronary spastic angina. The goal of treatment is to control chest pain and to prevent heart attack. The pain is relieved by a medicine called nitroglycerin (dilates coronary vessels). You have been prescribed norvasc and that should relieve any chest pains.
Avatar f tn I've never heard of nitroglycerin being used to treat migraine, but glad that it worked. But if it keeps on, and sorry to tell you this, but you probably should see a doctor ASAP. It could be the sign of a coming stroke, since it is sudden and very painful. I started with a sudden very different migraine than any I had ever had before. It turned out that within 3 weeks, longer than usual as a gap in time, I had a full carotid artery dissection stroke.
Avatar f tn I was in the ER yesterday with chest pain and shortness of breath. I do have benign PVCs. However I am unsure if my EKG was fully normal or not although I am pretty sure it was but what has me questioning it is the fact that I was given 4 aspirin and 2 nitroglycerin pills. My vent rate 126bpm PR interval 152 ms QRS duration 76 ms QT/QTc 306/443 ms P-R-T axes 71 66 47 Are those all normal? I do have high blood pressure lately along with an almost constant high heart rate.
Avatar n tn I have taken it on three occasions in a month. He also put me on the daily capsule that I take in the morning and at night, every day...and that has helped some also. I am also Type A personality and worry a lot as well.
Avatar m tn I'm a Raynaud's Phenomen patients who has the CREST syndrome and i use the nitroglycerin patches to control my raynaud's. Can you tell me if the patches used in this way would cause your acid reflux to be worse. When i took the lowest dose of nitroglycerin patches 0.1 didn't notice any but had to move up and now i do. Will this be something that my body may take an adjustment period for before i notice a different of not having symptoms again?
Avatar m tn 1280 in the anti-centromere pattern (centromere 5.5). I can't get back into the rheumy until July. I had elevated ana in the centromere pattern 2 years ago as well. I don't understand why they didn't diagnose me then. I didn't realize CREST is rare! That makes sense why there seems to be so little about it on the net. I'm 33 years old and was first diagnosed with RA when I was 17 years old. I've had raynauds and joint pain since I was 13.
Avatar n tn You should talk to your doctor as you may be a good candidate for a low dose nitroglycerin patch which opens the coronary vessels to increase oxygen supply to the heart. How are you currently managing your COPD? What medications and inhalers are you using? are you on home O2?
Avatar m tn The patient was brought in and catheterized by myself to exclude any possibility that his shortness of breath may have any cardiac component to it. He had grade I LV function with a normal RCA, LAD, and circumflex. A full hemodynamic assessment was made and his cardiac output was 6.8 liters per minute. His PA pressure is normal at 28/15 as was the RV pressure normal at 29/14. His pulmonary wedge pressure is a bit high at a mean pressure of 21, his RA mean pressure is also high at 17.
Avatar f tn I am 28 yrs old -small mitral valve prolapse and w/ 5yr history of cold hands and feet(entire hands and feets-not localized to certain fingers) and premature CAD in both parents sides of family( moms mom died at 38). As of January 08 I began having episodes of numbness and throbbing in arms and legs and feet. I was on Adallat C for 4 months with fairly good relief and at the end of 4 months and was then put on Norvasc.
Avatar n tn If it ONLY has #3 on one side and nothing on the other, white and round, according to drugs.com, it is Nitroglycerin .3mg - however, it would be best to double check with your pharmacist - they'd be able to tell you for sure what it is.
675923 tn?1296238011 I have dry itchy eyes, runny nose, headache and sometimes a scratchy throat. This year I am experiencing a burning sensation in my lungs and throat along with shortness of breath. Has anyone else had this experience? I am thinking that this is a new symptom of allergies OR asthma. I have never been diagnosed with asthma. I quit smoking three months ago but did not experience these symptoms even while smoking. Thank you in advance for your comments.
