572651 tn?1530999357 I have nitroquik - sublingual nitroglycerin - to take if I have angina pains - this morning about 5 am I was miserable and couldn't tell if it was heart or ms symptoms and I took one. As always it stopped my discomfort, depressed my already low blood pressure and I went to sleep for about 3 hours. I've used nitroquik for the past 3 months or so and it always stops the pain and gives me relief within minutes.
Avatar m tn What would happen if you rubbed pure nitroglycerin on your skin? I'd like to know the symptoms on and below the skin. I know that nitroglycerin is used for anginas, but I also know that it's generally mixed with something else, so I'm curious about how well pure nitroglycerin would work and what it would do. And if you had a vial of pure nitroglycerin, what could you mix it with to be able to use it as ointment?
1015873 tn?1261271548 Well, I really like Lucas from Mother 3. He's a good, kind little boy who is put through heck and back all because of a spoiled brat. I admire how well he deals with his trials, and I just want to give him a big hug.
Avatar n tn One night I woke up to go to the bathroom and my breathing became more and more labored. I popped in a nitroglycerin one at a time; I used my COPD inhaler. Finally, I called 311 and was taken to the hospital. The doctors guessed I had pneumonia and put me in a HARD mask to clear my lungs. I liken the condition to severe asthma. This happened 2 or 3 more times in the course of one year.
Avatar n tn I was diagnose with clogged arteries over a year ago. I even had a stent put in because one of my arteries was ecluded. I still had stable angina every time I did some for of cardio activity or is I ate something with sodium. I started using Nitroglycerin patches and even have the pills just in case my angina episode occurs. I had a date and I read online that you can't take viagra and any nitrates cause it can drop your blood pressure really low.
Avatar f tn I forgot to take off my nitroi patch last night What should I do This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/252428'>Nitro Patch</a>.
Avatar n tn after reading about it, I feel like I meet many of the symptoms of this, not all, but many...why do you think my doctor didn't want to use the term POTS to describe what is going on? Is it not a respected term in the medical field, or are some doctors just not aware of it? I am currently being treated with norpace and lopressor, which after reading about POTS seems to be the correct course of treatment. Just wondering? Based on what I have mentioned do you think I have POTS?
Avatar n tn I have occasion severe pain in the upper back behind heart region. Have had stent in major heart artery. Nitroglycerine immediately stops pain...not similar to pain before stent inserted. Former pain was in chest, jaw, and arm. Is this heart related or spine ? Usually occurs at night, wakes me up. Very infrequent.
1098952 tn?1270309713 Ken, I found what you wrote to be interesting. My daughter was given Nitro to see if it would help her and you are right; she nearly crashed as a result. Her BP bottomed out.
Avatar m tn t they be giving me a sedative or relaxant as opposed to a vasodilator? I have a pending stress echo test in a couple of weeks and if this test is again normal...I would like to request for an angiogram...would this be a good idea? Thank you all.
Avatar f tn Since the last 2 months I feel pain in heart. I visit to cardiologist. He suggested ECHO and ECG and I done that. ECHO report is normal but still I feel pain, so please suggest me what should I do like any other treatment or diet change or anything else.
Avatar n tn If it ONLY has #3 on one side and nothing on the other, white and round, according to drugs.com, it is Nitroglycerin .3mg - however, it would be best to double check with your pharmacist - they'd be able to tell you for sure what it is.
675923 tn?1296238011 First I need to know how long you have been sparking up on cigs and second, this could be anything from chest congestion to emphysema, or anxiety, since i am a professional anxiety sufferer in my attacks i get Shortness of breath, cold, dizzy, and an extreme rush if fear, which i found now very EXCITING!
Avatar m tn I am 66 year old male from India.I am told that i had Ischamea in the year 1977 without any symptoms. I have taken an ECG just like that. My doctor revealed this. After that i hve taken some medicines for a period of 6 months. this happend after my fathers sudden death due to MI, when i was under deep depressiona dn fear for aperiod of 4 months .i.e from july to Nov 77.After that till this time ther is no problem and i have never visited a Cardiologist also.
Avatar n tn Now I continue to have fatigue, shortness of breath, sleeplessness and chest pain. I wake every morning (for 2 weeks) with a headache above the eyebrows. Do I need further heart evaluation as my EKG and stress test showed normal?
Avatar m tn If it is necessary and his heart in reasonably good shape otherwise, of course, he should have the procedure done. I am only going by what I would do and I am 76. Two friends of mine both 77 years old at the time had it done, one with diabetes type 2 - a triple bypass, the other a quintuple - both are doing fine.
Avatar f tn Another tough call. I currently play games on a PSP, PS2, Xbox, and the computer. I wouldn't give any one of 'em up either. I love my PSP...great graphics, portable, great when someone's watchin' the t.v. and I want to play a game that's not on the computer. I have always been a Sony-person, so I love my PS2 and the majority of my games are PS2s.
Avatar n tn I am just concerned that this will forever be a constant worry for him. Any suggestions of how I can help him. Also I asked his MD about having nitroglycerin to have on hand and he said that this wasn't necessary??? Should I insist that we have some available?
Avatar m tn The doctors just did an ECG and say all is good. Is this possible? She is on constant Nitroglycerin and Morphine prn. Should she get a second opinion? What other procedures could she have done to take away this pain? She says the pain is getting more frequent and stronger. Thank you for your responses.
Avatar f tn I was in the ER yesterday with chest pain and shortness of breath. I do have benign PVCs. However I am unsure if my EKG was fully normal or not although I am pretty sure it was but what has me questioning it is the fact that I was given 4 aspirin and 2 nitroglycerin pills. My vent rate 126bpm PR interval 152 ms QRS duration 76 ms QT/QTc 306/443 ms P-R-T axes 71 66 47 Are those all normal? I do have high blood pressure lately along with an almost constant high heart rate.
Avatar m tn i'm new to this forum but i do have CREST SYNDROME which i have the raynaud's mainly in my hands. I have tried all kinds of blood pressure pills and when i move up on dose to help it causes more raynauds. I finally was put on nitroglycerin patches and had to be moved up once and now i'm adding ginko to my dose and i have finally saw a change. Not a perfect fix yet but much better. I also take fish oil twice a day for the inflamation.
Avatar f tn Hello, Thanks for posting your query. It can be due to vaginal or perineal tears. However it is common during labor. The other possibility would be an anal fissure. An anal fissure is a split in the anal skin and it feels like being cut with glass when you have your bowels open and afterwards. First of all, sit in sitz bath 2 or 3 times a day, increase fiber in the diet and take stool softeners or laxatives to avoid constipation. You may apply Preparation H cream or 1% hydrocortisone cream.
Avatar m tn The pain is still there together with light headedness and goes away if I take nitroglycerin (thought I know that nitroglycerin would relieve essentially any kind of chest pain). The cardiologist saw me after the angiogram and told me that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my heart and I should start working out. I tried some walking at pace this morning and started getting pain in chest radiating to arm with shortness of breath. I stopped and after taking some rest it went away.
Avatar m tn Thanks for getting back! I've been thru alot of test in the last several years and yes i did see a gastrologist last year and he seem to think that the CREST syndrome hadn't effected my esophogus just that i had simple reflux but i have defitely come to the conclusion that all these pills and now the patches has made me have flare ups. Seems like when i'm on a upper dose that's the only time i notice it but i have to have to have something for the Raynaud's in my hands.
Avatar f tn I've been taking medication for bipolar and anxiety for about 5 years. I'm still dealing with mood swings and changing doses on meds and that's okay. It's part of the course. My problem is that I'm stuck in the house most of the time and I really want to go out and get active again, but nobody seems to understand that I just can't move. My family is very supportive but they just don't have the time to hold my hand so I can get out.
