So we went to a doctor and he gave out to urine culture report. And that report says, Klebsiella Oxytoca(K.Oxytoca) is isolated in the urine. It is a urinary tract infection. It also says that the colony count of the bacteris is 1,00,000 cfu/ml. Hence, doctor prescribed some medicines like Uribid with nitrofurantoin in it, Prothiaden M, Montemac FX for allergy and Hifenac-P for fever and also Cital syrup for UTI.
After 7 days of this exposure i feel UTI like symptoms and diagnosis done by a urologist and tell me that u have UTI. My urine culture was positive with E.coli. i took antibiotics Doxycycline, nitrofurantoin, fosfomycin, farobact, Mikacin . Symptoms go away after 40 days of antibiotic course. But after one month symtoms repeats.
After 3 months of this exposure i have pain in penis, burning senstation during urination & ejaculation, heavy yellow urine.i went to a urologist.
I have been prescribed nitrofurantoin (macrobid) for a UTI. I have a hard time swallowing pills. Can these be broken up?

The test results yileded Klebsiella bacteria! So basically I have this bacteria infection around my mouth and it causes the PAINFUL pimples? I have been googling Klebsiella skin infections but I dont see any pictures to compare mine to. Is it normal for these painful, ugly, pimples to occur? They look like pimples but I always knew they were different - I could tell there was a difference between a certian pimple I got like on my forehead compared to these mouth ones.
9 days ago Nitrofurantoin (200g a day for 5 days) was taken and daily birth control (Qlaira). Both are known to decrease levels of haptoglobin but nothing about complete depletion.
Could this be an extended effect from Nitrofurantoin? When should the test be repeated ?
Since you are on this post, Klebsiella pneumonia can be normal bacteria in your intestines. It can also cause urinary tract infections, infections in wounds and sometimes pneumonia in immunocompromised people. So, the fact that you have a Klebsiella sp. in your urine isn't surprising if you have an infection there as it is a relatively common organism for a urinary tract infection. It is unlikely you would get pneumonia from it.
A couple of weeks later I developed a urinary tract infection. Urologist prescribed nitrofurantoin for the infection. Immediatedly after starting the antibiotic my ears gradually starting feeling clogged. Now, two weeks later, they are both very clogged (no wax buildup) and I can barely hear. Logic tells me the ear clogging is somehow connected to the nitrofurantoin. Has anyone ever experienced this or heard of this happening? Will this clogging go away by itself?

Hi I have recently diagnosed with Klebsiella pneumoniae in vaginal infection. I had a vaginal delivery 10 months back with a very bad tear and it took 6 months to heal and was fine for 3 months and after that I was diagnosed with vaginal pus on the vaginal wall stuture and the pus was drained and the pus culture report says the bacteria is Klebsiella pneumoniae I am worry ied how it could caused and for recurrence? Now I am have two more small boils near the wall.

I have been taking ciprobid, doxyl and nitrofurantoin for a month now. but still the is no change. I still have some pains. I have an overgrowth of +4 Klebsiella in my bowels and i cannot find a way to get rid of it! I have been on antibiotics now for 15 days and don't feel any different. The doctor said it is definitely bacterial conjunctivitis and he did a culture. It is klebsiella. I have had this in my eyes for a year and half. The tissues around my eyes have been destroyed. One eye droops now. I am going to see a different opthalmologist.
10/13/13 I visited a Dermatologist and diagnosed with cysts. Vaginal culture sent to lab- result was an over growth of Klebsiella. 10/13, I visited another GYN and I was told the same thing (cysts)- prescribed nystatin and triamcinolone ointment for the bumps which I never used because the small bumps cleared by themselves. My gyn. prescribed me sulfa meth/trimethoprim for Klebsiella on 11/1.

Suspect in your case is a variant of Behçet disease,with mainly neurological and gastrointestinal involvement.
2 weeks later i did a sputum test which showed I had klebsiella oxytoca infection as well as pseudonomas aeruginosa. They treated me with cetamadine iv for 7 days and 10 days of doxycycline (oral). The klebsiella was gone but pseudonomas remained. They then put in a pic line and gave me 3 daily doses of gentamyacin , and 10 days of zosyn . ( zosyn ran for 20 hrs per day and genta for 1hr) .
