I quit taking it, and within 2 weeks they were gone, despite an allergist not finding it. I tried Vytorin, had muscle and joint pain. Unless you have experienced the full brunt of side effects from statins, you can not state "just stick it out". The side effects are unbearable. I finally asked my doctor if it was really healthier that i went from someone who worked out at the gym 5 days a week to someone gobbling pain medicine and laying on the couch. other new symptoms are joint pain/stiffness and no, previous symptoms not resolved....continued lethargy + and 0 weight loss.....
As of this morning I am stopping medication in hopes that the faintness/dizzyness will go away as well as the joint pain....the office of the Dr. that prescribed the medication I have since found out has been closed by legal action!
I have taken Accutane and experienced joint and muscle pain. However, this and other side effects wore off as my body got used to the medication. I had no side effects, except for dry lips, from 12 weeks onwards and took Accutane for 24 weeks.

re having to go through this. If your shot was Neulasta that is indeed one of the side effects, joint pain. I had it all over my body and it was sometimes crippling but I still went to work. I walked like I was 30 years older than I am because my hips, legs, feet, hands and spine ached like crazy. Even my fingers!
The only thing I can say is when you get your chemo, drink lots of water and flush it out of your system as quick as you can.
The statin drugs, like lipitor, zocor, crestor can all have side effects of muscle and joint pain. I had to go off of them for that reason, then I tried Niacin and that was terrible also. I am 52 and the doctors harp on me about my cholesterol (I also have high BP). I suppose I will have to try another one soon. Even your blood pressure drugs might be a problem. Ask the pharmacist about side effects.

The doctor injected me in my right knee joint and I thought I would die from the pain. The left knee joint was not as painful. After I felf pain relief. However, when I awoke yesterday both my knees where the injection was given , as I bent my knee, felt crackly. The right knee now "catches" as I walk-almost like something got dislodged. What is going on? I will see my doctor Monday cause he was not in. I am afraid to get the other injections now.

m going to try taking Niacin which is a known blood vessel dialator, and Ginko which has similar effects. There is also accupuncture, which can relieve some types of spasms, but it can also create spasms. In addition to the Niacin and Ginko, I think I'm going to try some yoga poses standing on my head, which engage and strengthen the neck muscles near the ear.
Did you try the Niacin with aspirin to reduce side effects taken at bedtime? Niacin can do wonders on the LDL especially when there may be a corkscrew like protein attached to it and no amount of statin, diet or lifestyle change will impact the LDL but Niacin will. I was on tamoxifen for 5 years and have been on femara for 3. The back pain and joint pain has gotten horrible. I can no longer stand up straight or walk very far. I am 64 and afraid I will no longer be able to walk soon. I stopped femara 4 days ago. I wonder if any else has had this problem with the very severe joint pain, and if it will go away any time soon. The pain and quality of my life is so bad that I am taking the chance.
it works better than any narcotic and I have not had to take any pain pill for inflammation, arthritis, or joint pain but these last few shots seem to have triggered an emotional rollercoaster that is unbearable! I am a caregiver and can't control crying spells and feelings of inadequacy. i just want to crawl out of my skin!
Long term use of ibuprofen (motrin) in your age group definitely has its side effects. It has effects on the kidney (nephrotoxic drug) and stomach (gastritis). Caution is advised with its use especially at your age. Also, remember to eat something whenever you take the drug.
As you seem to be severely affected, it would be wise to discuss with your surgeon regarding this. We have other safe drugs which can control the pain.
