nexium withdrawal symptoms

I recently started taking Zoloft for anxiety, but I felt ill after taking it for five days, so I discontinued it. For the past three days, I have been having terrible withdrawal symptoms. I was just wondering if anyone else has discontinued Zoloft after a few days and if so, how long did it take for the withdrawal symptoms to subside? I was only taking 25 mg.

I have been taking 6-8 fioricet/day for several years to combat the headaches I get from taking 2 Nexium/day. I know I need to stop the fioricet but will still have to deal with the headache side effect of the Nexium. Was so happy to find this spport online but can't find a new thread. Can anybody out there help?

So, after I stopped, I got the classic wd symptoms, worst on days 3 and 4, and have now subsided. The nausea, stomach pain, depression and loss of appetite are still with me though. I'm taking Cymbalta now for 3 weeks for depression, it doesn't seem to help. Does any body have any experience and advise? Any idea how long until the depression stops?

He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.

I am so happy you were able cure your GERD without Nexium and I am happy that you did not feel any withdrawal symptoms. I only wish that doctors, as well as you and I, knew that Nexium and similar medications should only be taken for 6 months or less. In the future I will only take prescription drugs of any kind for only a very short time if at all. I do not trust the information that the drug companies give out on any subject. Money is their highest agenda.

please go back to your doctor and ask him if you can try nexium i no how horrible these symptoms are and at times thought i was going mad.

I was supposed to take 30 mg a day but because I had a really bad swallowing problem (turned out those were actually anxiety crampings of my throat) I took a few times 60 mg a day (morning and evening a 30 mg). Everytime now I reduce the dose (even if slowly) I get terrible withdrawal symptoms like heart pumping, shaking, anxiety, no appetite, depression cold/hot flu like feeling. Depending on how much I reduced the dose it lasts anywhere from 3 days to over a week.

I have needed Nexium for more years than I can remember for GERD. I have found that occasionally, during chemo, I need to pop in a PEPCID AC COMPLETE in addition to the Nexium .. but never at the same time. I always needed Pepcid if I drank red wine. I asked my gastro MD about taking both and he said I could since they do different things. My ONC also knows I take both ... Constipation/Diarrhea are common with chemo. I like Miralax for constipation.

I've been taking Nexium 40mg for about 10 years as I overproduce acid. Occasionally I get flare ups where I have to supplement the Nexium with Gaviscon. However, the last week has been the worst I've ever experienced. It's getting worse every day. My Doctor has increased the Nexium to x 2 daily, Gaviscon after I eat and at night and I've to have another endoscopy in the New Year. I don't want to eat at all. I get up in the morning and my stomach feels okay.

I just read on another site that being on Nexium can cause biliary dyskinesia. Can anyone relate to this? Has anyone stopped the Nexium and had the biliary dyskinesia go away and gallbladder return to a normal ejection fraction? I have been on Nexium for the last year. I was put on zantac 150, nexium, malox chewables. nexium is prescription and you can get prilosec which is the same thing and is OTC. The phentergan will help with the nausea. I remember after a month of detox I was eating anything in sight. I was eating so much, I would throw up b/c my stomach was packed full. It went away after 2 weeks and I had gained 15 lbs and then lost it ...thank god. It will go away, once you are off all the pain medicine.

Hi, Im hoping to talk to a doctor about nexium. Im here on behalf of my girlfriend who recently started to take nexium for her stomach pains. She has been very hot at random times and has been nauseas at night. Her period was suppose to start yesterday but it has not yet and we are not sure as to why it has not. She had one episode of cramps this morning but it was very short and ended soon after.

Dear Doctors/Professors My reflux problem started approx 4 years ago. I did a juice based diet and then shortly after I would experience burning only in the stomach area nowhere else. It didn't travel up the Oesophagus at all. The treatment method was and is still Nexium 40. I take 1 Nexium 40 every 3 days and then obviously repeat this as the stomach acid returns.

my insurence does not pay for brand Nexium. Only brand Nexium works. The company who makes Nexium will ok brand if I have a rejection from my Ins. Co. I called my Ins. co and they said that the do not send papers out that they do not pay for brands.
