I would give your dog Pepcid rather than Nexium. Pepcid has been proven safe and effective for dogs and is available over the counter. A large dog can have a full human dose.

ve been taking Nexium for 6 months now. He wants me to continue the Nexium, twice a day for 6 weeks. I was ok for 1 week and now it's all coming back (pain and heartburn). If medication don't help, is surgery the cure?? Thanks!!

I understand that Medicines for acid reflux that act in the same manner as Nexium, may cause dementia. Does Pepcid and medicines like it act in the same manner? Do they also carry the same risk for developing dementia?

I have found that occasionally, during chemo, I need to pop in a PEPCID AC COMPLETE in addition to the Nexium .. but never at the same time. I always needed Pepcid if I drank red wine. I asked my gastro MD about taking both and he said I could since they do different things. My ONC also knows I take both ... Constipation/Diarrhea are common with chemo. I like Miralax for constipation. I prefer not to dwell on the more serious side effects at this time.

My doc told me to use tums and pepcid. Also benadryl is very effective for anxiety in pregnancy and was recommended to me by doc, helped me a lot, only took when i needed to.

According to the FDA plavix should not be take with prilosec or nexium. I'm not sure about any other ppi. Ask your Cardio or GI doc. They should be able to give you the infor you need. I am taking plavix and was on nexium. Had to go off it because of the FDA findings. Am now on pepcid You can also look on the FDA website for more info on that. Good luck.

4 PPIs: Nexium, Prevacid, Aciphex, Protonix; 2 H2blockers: Zantac and Pepcid; 2 antiacids: Gaviscon and Riopan. I couldn't take any of these more than a few days (from 1 to 13 days) because of their side effects. The 2 bad side effects I've most often had are: worsened IBS - bad abdominal cramps (caused by Nexium together with fever and Zantac) a white-coated and burning tongue (caused by Prevacid, Zantac, Protonix, Pepcid, Riopan).

If so is there another drug that can help with reflux/heartburn that is not a PPI? I had problems with Nexium as well (dizziness and rapid heart rate) so I'm hesitant to try another PPI drug.

Tums works for me i eat two bfore bed

Prevacid, Nexium, Protonix, Aciphex, Zantac, and Pepcid are all used to treat reflux. You can ask you doctor who will know best which one is least likely to cause you dizzyness.

Hi I noticed you have been on nexium for a few years can u tell me how long it takes before nexium kicks in. I have been taking them for about 10 weeks Recently diagnosed barratts oesophagus gastritis hiatus hernia oesophageal ulcer.

I had been having acid reflux for a few weeks, and last week I woke up after rolling over on my stomach during the night with acid burning my esophagus. A doctor perscribed me Nexium, but since my insurance wouldn't cover it, I started taking over the counter Omeprazole instead. The very next day I woke up with stomach pain and cramps at around the same time I had the acid reflux the previous night.

About 3 months ago I started getting really upset stomach, bloating, and a little diarrhea. I went on Pepcid ac, pantoprazol, and now my doc prescribed nexium. These meds work for a few weeks then stop working. I am now wondering if my stomach issues start over every time I take another bluechew pill (which is only once every few weeks). Has anyone else had stomach issues with viagra or generic sildenafil?

I'm 18 weeks and I threw up last night because of my stupid acid. It hit at around 12 weeks and has only gotten worse. It started as heartburn and tums were magical. Then it got worse and worse. I got it so bad every night I couldn't sleep. I had to take Pepcid AC before bed just to hope to sleep. To add to it, I get Acid Reflux, too. The acid burnt feeling not only sits in my stomach and chest and goes through my intestines with a diarreah feeling, but also comes up my throat.

I doubt that "NEXIUM" has anything to do with your sisters knee pain. You can refer to the package insert if you look up the medication..

Been taking Zantac effervescent regularly and have tried every other drug known to man but the doctor suggested we try 20mg Nexium a day to see if that helps. It has, but after 10 days now I seem to be getting worse again. Also started taking Gaviscon (again) before meals. The question is how long do we take the Nexium? permenently, or stop when I feel better? the doctor was vague abd said the usual; come back in 2 weeks and let me know how you are. Anybody have any side affects?

I cant sleep because it so bad I have to be sitting up all the time. The pepcid,zantac,tums and Maalox just aren't doing a darn thing anymore. I still have 32 days till my due date. I just dont know how I'm suppose to keep dealing with this. I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy. It hurts, burns and it's extremely uncomfortable. Since I have it everyday it make me so irritable and infuriates me to no end.

I have delt with the same problem my doctor allowed me to take Pepcid AC and it has truly worked!

Ok so I have some of the worst acid reflux....What I don't have is heartburn...Mostly just pain with vomiting...Vomiting is on a regular basis...Pain is slight but constant with out breaks of so much pain that I have put myself in the hospital and they had me on 4 different pain meds before the pain subsided...Morphine, Loritab, and I don't remember the others...I have been on Nexium for several months and have recently tried the Activia 14 day challenge....

t allow Nexium to be sold/patented because it was so similar to Prilosec. Prilosec = Omeprazole vs Nexium = Esomeprazole, just go with Omeprazole and pay the generic copay.
