394931 tn?1208115595 if i eat or drink anything i have bad heartburn doesnt matter what it is. my doctor prescribed me pantoloc for the heartburn which is not working at all. all it does is make me vomit..i am at the end here i am 23 years old and i am usually so uncomfortable because of the heart burn. my doctor said it is acid reflux and the pantoloc will help, but hasnt, any ideas?
Avatar f tn Is it possible to become immune to Pantoloc? I have been on it for approx. 11 years and am beginning to experience the same symptoms that lead to go on it in the first place.
Avatar n tn t allow Nexium to be sold/patented because it was so similar to Prilosec. Prilosec = Omeprazole vs Nexium = Esomeprazole, just go with Omeprazole and pay the generic copay.
Avatar n tn There is no 'safer.' It depends on which one works better for you. They don't all work by a completely similar mode of action. So you'll have to try to find the one that works and gives you the fewer side-effects.
Avatar f tn Last week during the night I awoke and it felt as is my stomach, esophagus and throat were on fire. I went to my Dr. who prescribed Nexium for what she thought was GERD. She also drew some labs. I have taken the Nexium since Sat which has helped a little along with diet modification. Today they called and my lipase was elevated at only 70. She said I should have a Gall Bladder UltraSound done and if that is normal then to procede with a HydaScan.
Avatar m tn What is the difference between Esophageal spasms and Erosive esophagitis and what are the appropriate medications for each? Is Nexium or Librax the preferred medication for one but not the other? After having two stents in a right artery almost three years ago, recently suffering from a burning chest pain that increased with exertion and a cardiac catheterization that indicated no progression of the heart disease, I was diagnosed to be suffering from esophageal spasms and was prescribed Nexium.
Avatar m tn My doctor diagnosed me with a reflux problem and put me on a proton pump inhibitor (Pantoloc). Within two months, my symptoms were gone. About 6 months ago, they began again and I had a racing heat beat. Once again I was put on the Pantoloc. While the vomiting went away, the lump in my throat hasn't and my heart hasn't slowed down. About two months later, I had this very strange sort of dizzy, almost like I was coming down with the flu.
1243620 tn?1274790697 I started Pantoloc for ulcer for a few weeks. I had a migraine every day I was on it. The doctor told me then to stop it and see how I was. I've been extremely nervous and depressed since I stopped it. Shaking and having panic attacks. Has anyone experienced this? Please help.
709686 tn?1277432159 Esomeprazole (Nexium) is slightly different than omeprazole (Prilosec). But your body could react the same way. You could try a small amount and see. There are some combo otc drugs by Rolaids and others that have an antacid and famotidine (acid reducer). Those probably don't work as well.
Avatar m tn Been taking Zantac effervescent regularly and have tried every other drug known to man but the doctor suggested we try 20mg Nexium a day to see if that helps. It has, but after 10 days now I seem to be getting worse again. Also started taking Gaviscon (again) before meals. The question is how long do we take the Nexium? permenently, or stop when I feel better? the doctor was vague abd said the usual; come back in 2 weeks and let me know how you are. Anybody have any side affects?
Avatar n tn I'd ask your dr and discuss rebound effects, too. If you don't do it cautiously enough, you run the risk of it being worse. Is there OTC for Nexium? I'd lower the RX dose if ok with your Dr and then wean down from there vs switching meds IMHO.
Avatar m tn I take larger dosages myself but don't suffer from constant relief requirements. Have your doctor check you for a urinary tract infection or stone. You seem to be wanting to go far more than even diuretics would require.
Avatar m tn Do you think the risk is still too high even at a BMI in the low 30s? Does the BMI take into account muscle weight vs. fat weight? When considering this type of surgery does fat vs. muscle weight matter? My body type is rather muscular.
Avatar f tn Also was on Nexium, about a year later I missed 2 days doses of my nexium tablets and my vomiting seemed to subside some, come to find out that Nexium was contributing to my some of my sickness, my Dr. said that 2% of people who take nexium have severe vomitting as a side effect. I have a few good days, and then I have spans of days or even up to 1.
Avatar f tn Could it be the angle her body is at in the carrier you use outside vs. inside? Some car seats, strollers, etc. seem to bring on reflux more than others! So that is just a thought that you may be outside more than inside in the nicer weather and it may be the stroller or car seat or infant carrier vs. shat she uses when inside that is causing pressure to push up on her tummy ?
Avatar f tn He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.
