Nexium treats GERD/acid reflux which could cause epiabdominal pain. The prescription bottle should tell you how to take it. No one on this forum is a doctor. I am just a patient that has been though lots of GI problems so I know a lot about GI problems.

Every morning, within 1 1/2 of waking, I have to 'vomit' which amounts to the usual heaving, nothing coming up except phlegm and saliva, eyes watering, etc. After this episode, my sinuses are more clear and everything's ok--my GP only treats with sinus meds or nexium...any ideas? This is debilitating.

My new kitty, Tommy, is thriving, filling out from being so thin, really coming into his own. He is a joy to be around, really a perfect cat in every sense of the word. I do have two concerns. He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.

my insurence does not pay for brand Nexium. Only brand Nexium works. The company who makes Nexium will ok brand if I have a rejection from my Ins. Co. I called my Ins. co and they said that the do not send papers out that they do not pay for brands. Hello, I am 16 turning 17 in May. I started taking Nexium in 2013 in August. I have a severe case of Acid Reflux. My esophagus is mildly burned. I have no ulcers. Keto won't help with your obesity, most likely. A permanent change in diet would be better. Keto might work for a short period of time, but you need permanent change that will last. You also need to exercise. But before you do anything you probably need to talk to a doctor. What you describe does sound like it could be an ulcer, but it could also not be. Nexium doesn't treat ulcers, it treats heartburn.

You can experiment with OTC-versions of prescriptioned medications to reduce stomach acid. Acid-reducer medications such as Prilosec, Nexium, Zantac, Prevacid, and others are available at any pharmacy. I have GERT, and I had an ulcer. I take one Prilosec, 20-mg, a day with no pain. Prilosec OTC, is 10-mg, is a good start. Take two if you later think you need it.. If I take two Prilosec, 20-mg, I get dry-mouth, so I only need one for 24 hours.

We have a dog, "Sparky" 4 yr old white shepard yellow lab mix. My wife is very concerned about the treats I give him. I take 40mg daily of nexium daily. I was having acid attacks even with the Nexium, alway at night when sleeping. I have the wedge, extra pillows etc. Garvistan, Tums next to my bed. I once asked Dr. when could I stop Nexium he said I would need to lose weight. I have low iron, low B levels. Thinning hair etc. I already have spinal stenosis. I have been on Nexium for at least 10 years. Anyone out there who's been able to quit Nexium, let me know how and how long it took.

There is nothing in the manufacturer's literature regarding bone loss with Nexium. If the Nexium is diminishing your calcium supply then you may need to increase your calcium intake.
