Nexium would help GERD, ulcers, and inflammation of the stomach.
If it hasn't been done already, you can consider an upper endoscopy which can give a more conclusive answer.
Other tests to consider would be a 24-hr pH study or an abdominal ultrasound to evaluate for GERD and the liver/gallbladder respectively.
I would also obtain blood tests to exclude the bacteria H Pylori, which is associated with ulcers and inflammation.
Been on prilosec, nexium aciphex, etc., ever since. My GP ordered an upper GI. All normal except MASSIVE GERD. He doubled my nexium to 2 a day. Also had a chest xray which was normal. He ordered abdominal blood work - all normal (gall bladder, liver, pancreas, etc)
Still couldn't shake the intermittent nausea....Had an endoscopy - showed gerd, slight irritation of esophagus, small hiatal hernia and stomach blisters and nodules which were removed and benign.
I had my gallbladder removed laparoscopically 3 months ago. 2 months ago I developed a sharp pain in my upper abdomen (right underneath my Xiphoid process.) The pain is constant but gets worse after eating, regardless of what type of food it is. Occasionally the pain produces nausea but I do not vomit. I have been on Nexium 40 mg for 1 1/2 years prior to surgery.
He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.

hello , i have plm with burp , it hard to get burp . i take nexium wont work , what i do ?
Has anyone else experienced only nexium working? I have used all other medicines and they don't seem to work, but now my insurance company wont pay for it.

my insurence does not pay for brand Nexium. Only brand Nexium works. The company who makes Nexium will ok brand if I have a rejection from my Ins. Co. I called my Ins. co and they said that the do not send papers out that they do not pay for brands. How can I resolved this problem?

Hello, I am 16 turning 17 in May. I started taking Nexium in 2013 in August. I have a severe case of Acid Reflux. My esophagus is mildly burned. I have no ulcers. Ever since I was 5 I had acid reflux disease for years we couldn't figure it out neither could my mom she just thought I had bad morning stomach aches until she became an EMT paramedic in 2010, ever since she figured it out we've been looking for medicine to help.
I am being terminated from my primary care dr bc in my tox screen my xanax 0.5 mg did not show up at all not a trace. my dr gave me permission years ago to break em in half or a little less than half per dose 3 times per day,or i would be sleeping all the time with whole ones. I have panic attacks and aniexty vey bad. I cannot go without them. I even took my bottle to appt I made to show my dr the xanax in the bottle and broken ones.
actos, glipizide, insulin, nexium, simvistatin, seroquel, lamictil, prozac.
cannot correlate with any particular food intake, change in blood sugar level, or other variables.
occurs periodically; symptoms are transient. almost fainted on occasion
symptoms occurring more often now. neck pain becoming more frequent. do have a very long history of chronic anemia. some of these symptoms have woken me up from sleep at different times in the night.
I have to go on the LID for 4-5 weeks and have been searching for an allowable milk substitute. Does anyone have any coments about Rich's Non-dairy creamer? I was hopeful about a coconut milk I found in a carton in the refrigerated section but turns out is has carageenan in it. I put sour cream, ranch dressing or have milk all the time with my foods since I am "saliva challenged" after my radiation treatments.

I went to the doctor and he thought it may be constipation so he gave me Nexium and Amitiza. They made me feel pretty bad and didn't really seem to change anything that was bothering me. After a week he said to stop the meds.
The gas has since subsided, but the abdominal pressure and thin stools still persist (for about 2 weeks now) And I also notice my stomach gurgling a lot throughout the day and while in bed at night.
