s, I have been placed on Atenolol which has been increased to 50 mg QAM and 25 QHS, I have been placed on zantac 150 mg BID and nexium 40 mg BID (have been on Nexium for about 10 days). PVC's are almost totally gone but the chest pressure is there daily from approx. 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The only relief that I get from the chest pressure is to lie on my stomach (weird right). When my doc put me on nexium I felt great for about 4 days, the pressure came back and is still with me today.
I did not supplement my Ibuprofen ingestion with an acid reducer (Pepcid, Nexium) and after 4 months developed one peptic, esophageal ulcer and several erosions (ulcer precursors) in my upper GI. My GI doctor prescribed Nexium twice a day and is confident the GERD is NSAID induced and that my lesions will be healed in 12 weeks.
I have chronic pancreatitis with pseudocysts & calcification, I also have an enlarged pancreatic duct and history of bile duct sclerosis. I have systemic sclerosis and have chronic gastric ulcers (no H-pyloric) and food bezoars for 10 years. I am supposed to be on liquid diet (I am not) and have gastroparesis and have gained 40 pounds in past two years. I have hypothyroidism for 33 years and empty sella syndrome.
Told back pain. Prescribed NSAID (Mobic) which did nothing. Elevated white count so given sulfa which ended pain after 10 days. Also bp spikes to 180/110 or worse during that time, my normal bp at the time was 135/90. Also ooze from abdomen. On NSAID swelled up so put on Lasix. Swelling down but no bowel movement for 10 days Jan. 2012. Seeing chiropractor to see if he had any ideas. ooze started again Feb. '12.
Ok even though there are already hundreds of people on here just like me, here goes. On march 14 2010, I began having an unusual pain in my upper middle abdomen as though I had just ate a very large meal even though it was first thing in the morn and I had not ate yet. Over the next couple of days the pain grew worse and worse until I was unable to get myself off the ground. Plus, the area directly where your stomach would be began appear swollen.
Hi - - - Naproxen Sodium is the only NSAID that is not metabolized in the liver - -- it is metabolized in the kidneys. So, I do not think you are damaging your liver - but your kidneys may suffer. I totally agree with the above posts, however, that you are not going to get relief from Migraines with this drug - -- - You really do need to see your PCP and find another treatment for the headaches - --- the advice above to use acetaminofen ( no more than 4000 per day - max).
He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.

hello , i have plm with burp , it hard to get burp . i take nexium wont work , what i do ?
Has anyone else experienced only nexium working? I have used all other medicines and they don't seem to work, but now my insurance company wont pay for it.

my insurence does not pay for brand Nexium. Only brand Nexium works. The company who makes Nexium will ok brand if I have a rejection from my Ins. Co. I called my Ins. co and they said that the do not send papers out that they do not pay for brands. How can I resolved this problem?

Hello, I am 16 turning 17 in May. I started taking Nexium in 2013 in August. I have a severe case of Acid Reflux. My esophagus is mildly burned. I have no ulcers. Ever since I was 5 I had acid reflux disease for years we couldn't figure it out neither could my mom she just thought I had bad morning stomach aches until she became an EMT paramedic in 2010, ever since she figured it out we've been looking for medicine to help.
I have recently been suffering from reflux as well and have been adivised to take Nexium 40 mg. In the past month I have undergone two visits to the opthomologist for laser surgery to my right eye for a tear in the retina, which was discovered after suffering flashes and floaters in my eye for several days. I don't know if any of this is connected, maybe just a normal part of getting older. Who knows. Hope you can shed some light on the situation.
I doubt that "NEXIUM" has anything to do with your sisters knee pain. You can refer to the package insert if you look up the medication..
I take 40mg daily of nexium daily. I was having acid attacks even with the Nexium, alway at night when sleeping. I have the wedge, extra pillows etc. Garvistan, Tums next to my bed. I once asked Dr. when could I stop Nexium he said I would need to lose weight. I have low iron, low B levels. Thinning hair etc. I already have spinal stenosis. I have been on Nexium for at least 10 years. Anyone out there who's been able to quit Nexium, let me know how and how long it took.
There is nothing in the manufacturer's literature regarding bone loss with Nexium. If the Nexium is diminishing your calcium supply then you may need to increase your calcium intake. First, I would suggest a bone density scan to make sure if your calcium levels are low or not and to measure the strength of your bones. Please discuss this issue further with your primary doctor.
Once a week I take an NSAID and no matter what other natural treatments I may be using for my hip arthritis, I always feel better--motion is more fluid and unencumbered, almost normal--on those NSAID days. So my question is this: am I allowing the arthritis to worsen more quickly by not taking NSAIDs every day?
Ice and an nSaid are about all you can do.
