For short term use along with modifying ur diet and life style so u can stop the meds....the Prilosec is the original med for this issue....Nexium is made by the same pharmaceutical company. Make sure u follow guidelines of foods to avoid...exercise and get plenty of rest and avoid stress....

i have tried everything my dr has suggested and everything ive read nothing is working... like for example sitting up higher when sleeping eating smaller meals nothing an hr before bed. Nexium doesn't work my dr has me taking pepcid in the morning and at night with tums. Milk doesn't help water all day long ... The list is really endless... It's really horrible this pregnancy is the worse by far.

Zegrid is the equivalent to Nexium. Our GI wanted to give me samples of it for Jenna since my copay went up to 100 for the Protonix and I asked him what it compared to and that is what he told me, needless to say we did not change meds since the Protonix was working fine, I didnt want to risk changing meds.

He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.

my insurence does not pay for brand Nexium. Only brand Nexium works. The company who makes Nexium will ok brand if I have a rejection from my Ins. Co. I called my Ins. co and they said that the do not send papers out that they do not pay for brands. Hello, I am 16 turning 17 in May. I started taking Nexium in 2013 in August. I have a severe case of Acid Reflux. My esophagus is mildly burned. I have no ulcers. Hey ggreg, My whole GI tract seems to be out of whack after taking HP Pac (equivalent of Prevpac). My stomach hurts some times, including pelvis and lower back. Most importantly, I am having digestive issues as well....can't eat the same food as I used to be able to. In addition, I am on two mediciences now....one for motility (to keep the food going down) and Nexium as well. I've already tried Probiotics (as I had become Lactose Intolerant) after taking this medicence.

Hi fahadali2008, hope you are feeling better and able to have some sleep? Since when were you taking Lexotinal for sleeplessness and how much useful was it? Had it been prescribed by a doctor? Can you say the reason for stopping the use of this drug completely? Did you have any serious side effects of the drug? It is better you consult your attending physician or consult a sleep specialist before abruptly stopping the drug to be advised on the alternate medications.

I doubt that "NEXIUM" has anything to do with your sisters knee pain. You can refer to the package insert if you look up the medication..

I take 40mg daily of nexium daily. I was having acid attacks even with the Nexium, alway at night when sleeping. I have the wedge, extra pillows etc. Garvistan, Tums next to my bed. I once asked Dr. when could I stop Nexium he said I would need to lose weight. I have low iron, low B levels. Thinning hair etc. I already have spinal stenosis. I have been on Nexium for at least 10 years. Anyone out there who's been able to quit Nexium, let me know how and how long it took.

There is nothing in the manufacturer's literature regarding bone loss with Nexium. If the Nexium is diminishing your calcium supply then you may need to increase your calcium intake. First, I would suggest a bone density scan to make sure if your calcium levels are low or not and to measure the strength of your bones. Please discuss this issue further with your primary doctor.

My doctor and specialty pharmacist said for me to use something like Tums or the equivalent because it is calcium carbonate which will not interfere with the drugs or drug absorption. I use generic calcium carbonate tablets. They look like Tums, but are cheaper. They work.

Been taking Zantac effervescent regularly and have tried every other drug known to man but the doctor suggested we try 20mg Nexium a day to see if that helps.
