I am having another episode and am extremely nauseous, have slowed bowel movements, acid reflux and pain above the belly button. My doctor suspects an ulcer flaring up and has given me nexium to treat. I will see her in a week. Nexium is not having much effect. What is a differential diagnosis and what test can I have to deny or confirm ulcers? Is it possible to have multiple ulcers? I also suffer from tremors and am not on any medication except for nexium.

Prilosec is taken over a 14 day period and can only be taken every 4 months. Not sure about dosing for Nexium but Prilosec is often prescribed because it is over the counter.

He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.

Never took Nexium or any PPI prior to treatment, but took Nexium a day for most of treatment. After treatment, I was able to stop completely. So, treat yourself a little more of that purple pill if it will make your QOL on tx better. In addition, you might also try an H-2 pump like Zantac or Pepsid AC (not Pepsid Complete) at bedtime. Also, an antacid (like Tums, Mylanta) here or there is no problem as long as you space it around 3 hours away from your riba dosing.

I have done that when mine was high and then gone back to regular dosing. I hope you find the problem quickly. Let us know what you find out if you feel it would be of help to others on this drug. BTW, I am doing better on 1/2 of a 25 mg. Atenolol at night and nothing thru the day. My heart rate is up a little and I am not used to that, so I'm feeling a little hyper. Hi all. I'm just very curious about this. I had an appointment with a gastro because I'm having twinges on the rib area and think it's due to anti-inflammatories. I've been on Nexium for years, so the GERD is really under control. Immediately I was set up for an endoscopy which is fine, but not what I really wanted. I guess I just wanted to test a drug like Carafate first, for relief, then get the endoscopy if needed.

I am waiting on biopsy result meanwhile I am taking nexium with no relief. Do I need to worry about anything serious in my future?

I was recently diagnosed with GERD, and prescribed to nexium. Today is the 2 week mark of taking nexium. The only symptom I seem to get is really bad belching and it feels like there is a lump in my throat, those were the same symptoms I had when I was diagnosed. hello , i have plm with burp , it hard to get burp . i take nexium wont work , what i do ?
