nexium and pneumonia

Has anyone else experienced only nexium working? I have used all other medicines and they don't seem to work, but now my insurance company wont pay for it.

I am currently ONLY on Nexium 40mg a day and I take the pill in the morning, and no matter how much I manage to drink, by 2am the next morning I wake up because my tongue and mouth are BONE dry! I can't find any answers other than this being a side effect. Hopefully it's not damaging my liver or sucking water out of my system!

I changed my sleeping position, and trying to change my diet. My fears of nexium causing pneumonia as well as keeping me from taking it. I really really wish that i didnt read about aspirated pneumonia. I cant seem to relax my stomach. Will I have to keep getting chest xrays? how safe is that. I would appreciate any feedback whatsoever.

Hi, I had a lot of symptoms that indicated allergies, but I knew that wasn't right. An I also felt like choking or my throat closing so they said that sounds like globus. Then the endoscopy, biopsy and blood test indicated celiac disease. So ask the doctors to check for everything they can because sometimes your symptoms say one thing when is actually something else. I have gerd and Nexium doesn't work for me.

On my right upper quadrant area it feel like something is sitting there no pain just uncomfortable feeling I was taking nexium but the feeling is still there what could be wrong my MD says he doesn't feel anything but area looks a little swollen plus my stomach is bloated

while I was on 6-80mg Nexium a day, I had weird and chronic gastro-viruses and I believe Nexium kills all the acid in your stomach and then you are more prone to stomach viruses.

Hi, Im hoping to talk to a doctor about nexium. Im here on behalf of my girlfriend who recently started to take nexium for her stomach pains. She has been very hot at random times and has been nauseas at night. Her period was suppose to start yesterday but it has not yet and we are not sure as to why it has not. She had one episode of cramps this morning but it was very short and ended soon after.

that you were on anyway right? if he or she knew you were on nexium and xanax and still prescribed it to you then it should be okay i guess. also the same for your doc. that prescribed you the nexium. sometimes you can find on certain websites like drugs.com or something how certain meds react with others.

Started Neils Rinse, Gentamycin solutions, nasonex, nexium, rx antihistamines only to be diagnosed with chronic sinusitis. 02/07 RLL pneumonia , severe bronchitis and was hospitalized and at the same time had bilat FESS. The physician claimed the surgery did not go well because I was so abcessed. I was treated with various IV ABT's and sent home with diagnosis of strep pneumonia. Swelling was a huge issue for me and steroids were the iv course switched to oral.

None of these were at any specific time or after any meals etc. After eating McDonalds for breakfast one morning I ended up with a very bad aching/pressure pain in the centre of my chest and a fast heartbeat so bad that I drove myself to the ER. EKG was fine. Another thing is my heart thuds once very hard every now and then.

Hello, I'm new to this site. I was recently diagnosed with GERD, and prescribed to nexium. Today is the 2 week mark of taking nexium. The only symptom I seem to get is really bad belching and it feels like there is a lump in my throat, those were the same symptoms I had when I was diagnosed. I had the same symptom for about a month before i went in. Maybe once or twice did I get heartburn or get an acidic taste in my mouth.

I am a 66 yr old female and I have never smoked, I have had pneumonia 2 times in my left lung last time 6 yrs ago. I have congestion in that lung and crackles noises when I lay on my left side to sleep. Sometimes short of breath until I clear the mucus. I hear gurgle like sounds when I laugh deep. Had my first chest X-ray in 20 yrs and that was normal. Went to allergists no common allergies or asthma. Allergic to mold and dust mites. Am concerned since it is only my left lung.

I have had gerd plus a hiatal hernia for years. I take nexium and have for at least ten years. Now I am told I have iron defiency anemia. Reading through the insert that comes with nexium it appears this drug could cause the anemia. Has anybody experienced this?

Hi, I just switched from Prevacid to Nexium and within two days started to have dark stools. Have had an endoscopy, CT scan of my abdomen and also a ultra sound on my stomach. Nothing has turned up to be a problem but still the dark stools. I would appreciate someone commenting if they've experienced the same with Nexium, "the little purple pill". Thanks.

Just got out of hospital with flu and pneumonia, and still wheezing and taking breathing treatments. In January of this year, I had a colonoscopy and my doctor prescribed prilosec, which I did not take as I should. A friend of mine, who has bad lung problems, told me her lung doctor told her that acid reflux problems can spill over into your lungs, causing you many problems. I have begun, religiously, to take my Prilosec.

Massive amounts of heartburn, bad indigestion, throwing up at times ( no blood ) and also always has gas 90 percent of the day. He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from.

The company who makes Nexium will ok brand if I have a rejection from my Ins. Co. I called my Ins. co and they said that the do not send papers out that they do not pay for brands. Yes nexium is ok to take, i hane cirrhosis and thats what my hepo ordered for me, he did switch me to prilosec only because its over the counter same as prevacid which is also ok.............

I think the confusion about all of the PPIs, including nexium, is that most docs prescribe PPIs without a lot of testing and without that testing it's possible that if someone feels better taking the nexium and stays on it longterm without any testing being done, it could end up masking a more serious problem - like stomach cancer.

Hello, I am 16 turning 17 in May. I started taking Nexium in 2013 in August. I have a severe case of Acid Reflux. My esophagus is mildly burned. I have no ulcers. Ever since I was 5 I had acid reflux disease for years we couldn't figure it out neither could my mom she just thought I had bad morning stomach aches until she became an EMT paramedic in 2010, ever since she figured it out we've been looking for medicine to help.
