nexium and maalox together

Can nexium and priolac cause weight gain. ARe there any other over the counter meds for reflux/sour stomach?

Hi...I am on Nexium and synthroid....can I take them together in the morning and hour before breakfast? I am supposed to take them both in AM. Thanks....

Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.

I continued with the 80 mg of Nexium until around the middle of February and discovered the Nexium can cause chest pain. When I cut back the Nexium to 40 mg. a day, the chest pain stopped. But now, the reflux is back with a vengeance. I am pretty careful with my diet. My question is: Could the Nexium have stopped working? I am now experiencing pain when I swallow, pain just below my sternum and lots and lots of reflux (but not a lot of acid but I do get a burning throat on occasion).

Hello all I am so overwhelmed with GERD! Currently I am on Nexium twice a day plus Maalox and still have symtpoms. My throat and nose are burning. My stomach is upset and can't seem to eat anything! I have been reflux problems for about 4 years now and it has NEVER been this bad. Sometimes food seems to be stuck in my throat/chest. On top of all theses symptoms I am extremely tired and have joint pain.

Most knowledgeable hepatologists prescribe proton pump inhibitor (PPI) drugs like Nexium or Prilosec. Both are generally considered liver friendly; omeprazole is available generically if cost is an issue.

Diane just asked if Pepsid was the same this is the response: Jmjm had the worst case of GERD out of just about anybody on the forum and he said these are ok - it's the same thing copyman said so I guess it's perfectly fine just stay away from Tums and Mylanta and Maalox and those things! Just don't take Pepsid complete!

I do have a medium size hiatal hernia along with barrett's esophagus and GERDS. Besides the nexium 40mg twice a day I also take Maalox, but I don't have any indigestion at all. I don't drink coffee, tea or soda. I may have a few beers with friends once a month. I have been staying away from spicy, fried and oily foods, but it dosen't seem to help with the pain. I don't eat anything for at least 4 hours before bedtime.

Ive been on different meds like Nexium and even Maalox Advanced but none of the meds are helping, sometimes when I take Nexium and Maalox together right before the intense pain starts the duration of the pain is reduced but it never stops it from happening again.

S (Proton pump inhibitors) are fine to take before or during tx. I am on tx and taking nexium, prevacid is also a good one. prilosec otc is also fine to take. I took it before starting tx and my viral load had never been lower. Not that prilosec made a difference but it sure did not make it go up.

I am taking 2 zantac and about a roll of rollaids and then at night chugging the Maalox. Nothing seems to help. I swear when I eat some ice cream trying to cool things off, I swear that ice cream curdles as soon as it hits my throat it is so hot. I am hungry, I just cant eat because it hurts so bad to swollow ANYTHING even just some ice water. What in the world is going on? What am I doing wrong that I am getting NO relief? I cant afford to have any test done.

So my doctor said that I must have stomach ,esophagus spasms. And then he still prescribed me only nexium and maalox,and remind me trying to relax,no cancer at all. One month later,my swallowing difficulty did not go away. Sometimes got so worse that also infected my breath when I ate rice or bread or other dry food which stuck on my chest for one or 2 days. I had to rush to the ER for 3 times,but they could not help me also.

m taking prevacid in the morning and then zantac 150 2x a day and still eat the smoothie tums and alka seltzer. My ob said next appt if no better she will prescribe me something. I go back the 26th and am seriously counting down the days so I feel ya. I wake up with it when I haven't ate or drank all night. Good luck.

both bile and acid you might ask your doc about using an aluminum-based product with I believe includes Maalox. You may also need to eat smaller meals more frequently thoughout the day.

I am on Nexium x 2 a day, Maalox 24-7, Titralac and Pepcid.....Everything I eat...even water produces hearburn. Early on I was on Augmentin, Levaquin, amoxcillan Mucinex, zrtex, and nada. No help. I cannot live like this. I am very tired....I take advil, aspirin and tylenol for the head pain. I am on Plavix for my heart.

I cant sleep because it so bad I have to be sitting up all the time. The pepcid,zantac,tums and Maalox just aren't doing a darn thing anymore. I still have 32 days till my due date. I just dont know how I'm suppose to keep dealing with this. I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy. It hurts, burns and it's extremely uncomfortable. Since I have it everyday it make me so irritable and infuriates me to no end.

I have just started in the past 3 months with PVC's and finally went to the cardiologist this week and had ekg and echo and next week stress test. he says I have benign PVC's but they are keeping me up at night and driving me crazy. I feel so tired and have a loss of energy as well as bowel and stomach distress. They say I may even having GERD.. taking pills for that but still feel awful.

If you have had a vagotomy, taking Nexium is not advised, A vagotomy reduces acid production and the Nexium also reduces acid production. My advice, having gone through the same surgery ,is to stop taking the Nexium,which by the way is not recommended for use more than 14 days. Take a fiber supplement mixed with water and a teaspoon of cider vinegar before every meal . If you should have occasional acid stomach symptoms, take regular Tums.

ve tried all the OTC drugs like prilosec, maalox, gaviscon, gas-x, Zantac, and even Dexilant. These drugs have minimal effect on my symptoms. I've even tried Acupuncture for stress. I've cut out Gluten and Dairy for a time, though admittedly I probably have not done this for a long enough period (about two weeks total). This has really effected my quality of life and my productivity on the job. Sometimes I think I will have to live with this forever which makes me very depressed.

My doctor told me I need to try to ween myself off of the medicine (zegerid, because nexium and a million other meds dont woork). I tried doing that and I still keep getting heartburn no matter what. I have gotten the endoscopy several times and the doctors just say that the bottom of my esophagus is not tight, which gives me G.E.R.D. I can't deal with this anymore. I get terrible heartburn and I dont know what to do with myself because I take Zegerid EVERY DAY!!
