nexium and fatigue

I have constant tightness/heavy sensation in my chest along with pleuritic pain when I take a deep breath.and fatigue. I called my cardiologist and he told me to hold the Attenolol (on Plavix, 325mg Aspirin, Losartan, Wellbutrin, Attenolol, Lunesta) My BP is fine. I am getting so discouraged- I thought I would feel better after the stents .

I was given Zegrid (Omeprazole) for my esophageal ulcers due to acid reflux and experienced severe muscle fatigue that took about a week to clear after stopping, took again and fatigue returned. I started taking Zantac 150 and it seemed okay but I started have occasional nausea and sharp pains in the stomach area. My Internal Medicine doctor advised the ulcer is being aggravated by the acid which is causing nausea and pain, the Zantac was not strong enough.

Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.

My main worry was that I wanted to try it again but was afraid that with all the supplements and then the nexium and levo that it might not be a good thing?

Hi, Im hoping to talk to a doctor about nexium. Im here on behalf of my girlfriend who recently started to take nexium for her stomach pains. that you were on anyway right? if he or she knew you were on nexium and xanax and still prescribed it to you then it should be okay i guess. also the same for your doc. that prescribed you the nexium. sometimes you can find on certain websites like drugs.com or something how certain meds react with others.

Hello, I'm new to this site. I was recently diagnosed with GERD, and prescribed to nexium. Today is the 2 week mark of taking nexium. The only symptom I seem to get is really bad belching and it feels like there is a lump in my throat, those were the same symptoms I had when I was diagnosed. I had the same symptom for about a month before i went in. Maybe once or twice did I get heartburn or get an acidic taste in my mouth.

I still drink beer on the weekends and take nexium to control heartburn. Could my liver be out of whack and it not show up at all during a hida scan or all of the blood tests they did?

I am at the point where I cannot get a good sleep without the help of Lorazepam and advil. I should also mention that I have GERD and take Nexium daily. Any further thoughts would be helpful.

I have had gerd plus a hiatal hernia for years. I take nexium and have for at least ten years. Now I am told I have iron defiency anemia. Reading through the insert that comes with nexium it appears this drug could cause the anemia. Has anybody experienced this?

Hi, I just switched from Prevacid to Nexium and within two days started to have dark stools. Have had an endoscopy, CT scan of my abdomen and also a ultra sound on my stomach. Nothing has turned up to be a problem but still the dark stools. I would appreciate someone commenting if they've experienced the same with Nexium, "the little purple pill". Thanks.

My mother lost weight (without changing her diet) when she stopped nexium and gaviscon and started digestive enzymes and betaine HCI with pepsin. I had a look online about this based on the fact that lower stomach acid is a cause of poor digestion. A quick google search and i found the article "Poor Digestion Can Make You Fat" by William McKenna. Hmmm. So can you have your aussie hamburgers and lose weight too? He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from.

Has anyone else experienced only nexium working? I have used all other medicines and they don't seem to work, but now my insurance company wont pay for it.

The company who makes Nexium will ok brand if I have a rejection from my Ins. Co. I called my Ins. co and they said that the do not send papers out that they do not pay for brands. Yes nexium is ok to take, i hane cirrhosis and thats what my hepo ordered for me, he did switch me to prilosec only because its over the counter same as prevacid which is also ok.............

I think the confusion about all of the PPIs, including nexium, is that most docs prescribe PPIs without a lot of testing and without that testing it's possible that if someone feels better taking the nexium and stays on it longterm without any testing being done, it could end up masking a more serious problem - like stomach cancer.

Hello, I am 16 turning 17 in May. I started taking Nexium in 2013 in August. I have a severe case of Acid Reflux. My esophagus is mildly burned. I have no ulcers. Ever since I was 5 I had acid reflux disease for years we couldn't figure it out neither could my mom she just thought I had bad morning stomach aches until she became an EMT paramedic in 2010, ever since she figured it out we've been looking for medicine to help.

I have been having really bad heartburn and a burning feeling in my stomach. I was told to take Nexium but I have a severe allergy to penicillin. My question is, can I take nexium if I'm allergic to penicillin?

She was on acid blockers for 25 years (tagament for 20 years, nexium for 5 years and also took gaviscon for 10 years). I took my mother off nexium and gaviscon cold turkey and started digestive enzyme supplements and betaine HCI with pepsin supplements in their place. She never got worse only better. She no longer suffers GERD, LPR and is 95% improved with gastritis. If you don't want to go cold turkey you could try taking digestive enzyme supplements and wean off nexium more slowly.
