Avatar m tn I've been taking Nexium 40 mg. for about 4 years with no side effects. I was recently switched by my doctor to the generic brand Esomprazole Magnesium & have a very dry mouth. Is it possible it is from the generic med?

974371 tn?1424653129 ve been tested for Sjorgens (biopsy), which was negative. I still have terrible dry mouth and throat and a feeling of something stuck in my throat, mainly from behind the left nostril down the left side of my throat. Add to that, usually a feeling of nausea. For some reason, after the procedure, I seemed to have broken out with a couple of canker sores inside my mouth and a cold sore on the outside. Maybe I should try taking the Valtrix that another doctor suggested I do for 30 days.
974371 tn?1424653129 I am still suffering from chronic dry mouth and throat issues. Set for yet another endoscopy on this Wednesday. I doubt that is the problem. I have had many tests, biopsies, CT scans, MRI's, etc. No definitive answers. Whatever I *don't* have is now chronic and getting worse and just about ruins my daily life. I am beginning to think that this is not necessarily an ENT issue but has actually something to do with the *tissue* of my mouth and throat.
Avatar n tn t noticed much with the mouth but i will now be paying close attention. I have taken Prilosec, Nexium, Aciphex, and Prevacid up to twice a day at the max dosage. I recently had an eye exam from an eyeMD but the doc just said i had dry eye and would need glasses when I hit my 50's. Not real helpful.
974371 tn?1424653129 I have not been well for some time and have been to numerous doctors, mainly due to dry mouth and throat and feeling of lump in my throat. Have another appt yet tomorrow. I went to an endocronologist for thyroid nodules and cysts and had a second biopsy - benign. My thyroid tests are always normal.
Avatar n tn Yes it does happen with both eyes and i haven't noticed much with the mouth but i will now be paying close attention. I have taken Prilosec, Nexium, Aciphex, and Prevacid up to twice a day at the max dosage. I recently had an eye exam but the doc just said i had dry eye and would need glasses when I hit my 50's. 974371 tn?1424653129 Not sure I have an autoimmune disorder. I had posted in the ENT forums before but never really got much help or saw anyone posting symptoms similar to mine. Looooong story, but have had worsening dry mouth/throat problems with feeling of lump/mucus in throat and feeling generally unwell. Have seen numerous ENT docs, GI docs, etc and had numerous tests (CT scans, MRI, blood work, etc).
Avatar f tn I wake up every morning with a tension headache (a dull constant pain between the temples and around the forehead area) that feels like a 4 out of 10 on the pain scale and stays with me all day and all night. I also wake up with really dry eyes and somewhat dry lips (but not a dry mouth). Recently in the last two weeks I have also woken up with neck and upper back pain that stays with me all day. No OTC or prescription medicines relieve my neck, back or head pain.
Avatar m tn that you were on anyway right? if he or she knew you were on nexium and xanax and still prescribed it to you then it should be okay i guess. also the same for your doc. that prescribed you the nexium. sometimes you can find on certain websites like drugs.com or something how certain meds react with others.
Avatar m tn I am tired and achy and my mouth is dry. I feel like I am falling apart right now and that I will never find peace again. I really need to hear from people as to what all these feelings could be and how I can stop them. I am desperate and scared and very grateful for any response.
Avatar m tn I am taking Nexium for reflux, had burning through esophagus/stomach. I am taking meds for dry mouth and drink water constantly but still having mouth infection issues and no resolution to my issues. As this has gone on for several months, my anxiety is through the roof and MDs aren't taking me seriously.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm new to this site. I was recently diagnosed with GERD, and prescribed to nexium. Today is the 2 week mark of taking nexium. The only symptom I seem to get is really bad belching and it feels like there is a lump in my throat, those were the same symptoms I had when I was diagnosed. I had the same symptom for about a month before i went in. Maybe once or twice did I get heartburn or get an acidic taste in my mouth.
974371 tn?1424653129 Again, as the day progressed, my dry mouth, uncomfortable tongue and that gluey feeling was getting worse and worse. Add to that I now seem to be having problems with thick mucus I cannot blow out my nose or expectorate and am back to on going hacking and clearing my throat. Add to that feeling of flushing and generally feeling unwell. Latest ENT doc ordered yet another sinus CT scan and gave me aLydocaine rinse and am supposed to swallow it!
Avatar m tn I have been seeing a GI doctor for the last 10 yrs. . I told him about it last time I saw him and he looked in my mouth and shrugged it off. I have to go back to him next week to make a appointment for a Endoscopy and a Colonoscopy. The Colonoscopy is about a year overdue since my last one, which he told me I had Spastic Colon. My last Endoscopy was two years ago and he said, everything looked fine. I due have Gerds, Barrett's Esophagus and I had a small ulcer which he treated.
Avatar f tn Went for gastroscopy and docter diagnosed GERS. Topazole and Lancaps didnt help. Now I am on Nexium 40mg. Because of all this worries I am having panicattacks... Struggeling to eat because I am afraid it triggers reflux and the burning and chest pain triggers a panick attack. ECG was normal, but I am still afraid there is sumthing wrong with my heart.
3093770 tn?1389739126 First, I had a dry nose and mouth throughout the entire 48 weeks and also for a month and a half after finishing Tx. At times my mouth was so dry I could not swallow, especially at night. My nose was also dry and crusty inside. Disgusting. Hope you are not eating, LOL. I measured my water and, in order to get the 1 gallon a day (4 liters), I was constantly drinking, day and night. Even without the measuring, I would have been drinking because my mouth was parched and I could not swallow.
Avatar m tn For the last year or so I have had these pinpoint size pimples in my mouth and throat. I went to see two ENT's and neither one of them knew what they were or what was causing them. They took swabs and they came back normal. They tried antibiotics and they are still there. They even gave me an inhaler and nothing. The pimples are still there. One ENT said, maybe I should have my tonsils taken out and the other ENT said, my tonsils were fine.
Avatar n tn Also good for the linings of your mouth and eyes is a small glass of orange juice daily (too much juice will dry you out), and of course anything with vitamin A in it, like carrots and sweet potatoes. I know how it feels to "freak out" and get the jitters. I think once you get rid of the Nuvigil, that should help a lot with that. You may need someone to doublecheck your air machine, perhaps increase the pressure and oxygen on it.
Avatar m tn I have been everywhere on the web and here and nothing seems to fit, until i did some research and saw that dry mouth is sympotmatic of diabetes. Can anyone shed some light? Its more of an inconvenience than anything else. I can still swallow, doesnt affect taste, throat isnt sore, sleeping is not a problem. I should also mention this doesnt happen everytime and its also varies in dryness. I am going to be changing from a GP to Internest within the next couple of months.
