Common Questions and Answers about Nexium and dizziness

nexium

Avatar m tn Hi, Im hoping to talk to a doctor about nexium. Im here on behalf of my girlfriend who recently started to take nexium for her stomach pains. She has been very hot at random times and has been nauseas at night. Her period was suppose to start yesterday but it has not yet and we are not sure as to why it has not. She had one episode of cramps this morning but it was very short and ended soon after.
Avatar n tn Well if any of you are taking nexium that may be why I have been taking nexium for 3 weeks now it seems like everytime i did i would feel dizzy nauseous and got diarrea so i stop taking it and im feeling less dizzy still nauseaus but is only been the second day im off the nexium and i believe that all dose symptoms are all side effects of nexium
Avatar n tn I woke up a couple of months ago with 30 minutes of heart palpitations, and then chest gas followed. Eventually a lot of head pressure followed that, with my ears popping. I had been written up as having GERD symptoms years ago, for other reasons, but I never had connected on and off moments of dizziness with GERD. And this time because of the timing, I thought "Ohhhh, this gas has to do with my heart.
Avatar m tn I have been given Nexium to reduce stomach acid - this helped a bit with nausea...but didn't solve the problem completely or the dizziness or headaches. Have taken to opening the house up often to let the fresh air through as well as the Dr gave me a nasal spray prescription that is for sinus and allergies. The headaches and dizziness have mostly stopped now, but still slight nausea - I think the Nexium takes 4 weeks to work completely.
Avatar m tn ve been on it a while, but I noticed 2 weeks ago my symptoms were much worse when I took a double dose. I got in an argument with my wife while on 80mg Nexium and I swear I could feel the adrenaline rush come from me feet up through my head like someone threw a switch. I have never had Anxiety before this. Your thoughts? Anxiety? GI? Chiropractor? Or all three?
Avatar f tn I'm not sure what the hell is going on with me lately. I'm experiencing dry heaves, body twitches, and most of all dizziness when I feel the acid reflux coming up. It's pretty uncomfortable. I started Nexium 3 days ago and it's gotten a little better. I have had bad acid reflux episodes before but this time it's along with the dizziness. At night I'm not sleeping well and in the morning I waked up anxious.
Avatar n tn This that it goes down my throat happened 10 years ago, when I was 30 pounds heavier. I took Prilosec and then Nexium and it solved the problem then. Now (I am normal weight now), when I remember, I take Pepcid AC and it seems to solve the problem for the next night. I am thinking of taking Prilosec or Nexium to permanently stop this from happening. What do you think?
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with Gerd and took Nexium 40 for 3 months with no relief and hives and acne as side effects. Now, I have been having dizzy and lightheaded spells, shortness of breath, with pain from my shoulders down through both of my arms. On the back of an acid reducer otc medication, it says that these symptoms may be a sign of a more serious condition, but I cannot find out what that condition can be.
Avatar n tn She has been taking this medication for one week, and has been experiencing dizziness and nausea. She weighs about 120 lbs. I looked online, and it appears that these are side effects that some patients experience. My question is: would Nexium pose the same problems for her?
1696240 tn?1308183023 ve stopped the levo because of too many side effects. one of which was tightness in my chest and dizziness after eating, and it was really only happening at dinner and sometimes at breakfast. my last time taking the levo was on saturday but i still have pretty bad tightness in my chest and some dizziness when i eat. i have been to the cardiologist and he said everything looks great except for a slight leak, which according to him was pretty harmless.
Avatar n tn My 17 has been complaining of heart flutters or heart pain. She is an athlete and in great shape.
Avatar m tn Went to a gastro specialist who performed an gastro scope and colonoscopy and found nothing. Finally got off nexium by using raw honey to heal my stomach. Slowly new issues starting arising that would come and go. Such as muscle twitching all over and waves of anxiety. In late 2009 I had another severe episode of dizziness. It was so bad I went to the hospital. A cat scan of my head was done and all was okay, an MRI of my head (taken in Jan 2010) was ordered and that revealed nothing.
Avatar n tn Steps were taken to attempt resolution, and while the jaw pain and dizziness lessened, I started getting headaches more and more often. Taking medication for the heartburn (nexium) started making the headaches worse after a while. Combined with my recurring panic attacks, this escalated to migraines (which run in my family, although these weren't particularly painful most of the time) with auras, the auras being numbness in the face and lips, and sometimes pain running down my arm.
Avatar n tn Prevacid, Nexium, Protonix, Aciphex, Zantac, and Pepcid are all used to treat reflux. You can ask you doctor who will know best which one is least likely to cause you dizzyness.
558565 tn?1276206567 I suffer from dizziness, GERD and gastritis. My doctor attributes the dizziness to my anxiety. I noticed my dizziness peaked in stressful situations such as when I was in class while I was in college or recently when I started a new job and had to put on the "phony, I'm an angel" attitude everyday while training, basically in social settings. I question whether or not you suffer from anxiety...
1569985 tn?1328247482 I was trying to link my atenolol and hormones to the dizziness and actually was on symptom checker last night (because I had one of those spells yesterday, happens a lot with flourecent lighting), and the top medical condition was of course...anxiety (which I'm really tired of everyone and everything saying this and trying to link everything to anxiety), but the next one was medication reaction!!
Avatar n tn He gave me some meds. for anxiety the didnt help. I have GERD and endometriosis. I take nexium for gerd. Any suggestions out there? Tired of having these spells....
Avatar m tn i have just had surgery for the reflux 2 weeks ago and no longer have to take the nexium. i had chest pain, numbness, dizziness, and reflux everyday. i thought being dizzy was normal for me. after the surgery i dont have any chest pain but my throat still closes and thats when im dizzy. my doctor says that should go away because that is a symptom of post surgery. hopefully he is right. good luck.
Avatar n tn OK well the everything not real is a bit exaggerated but the dizziness persists, I am leading quiet a normal life other than the headaches and dizziness, and have not been told I have acted any differently or been strange recently by girlfriend or any friends, maybe stress is a factor though, never knew it could do that to you...
Avatar f tn Taking diazepam with a sedating antihistamine can cause increased sedation, dizziness, and confusion. It was difficult to find what interacts with the Kanna. I would just use caution because it too can make you sedated. It is ok to take the valerian if you do not take the diazepam (again, only when going to sleep because it is sedating). Just be sure not to take the valerian and diazepam together. They are believed to work in a similar way in the brain.
Avatar n tn My doctor prescribed me Nexium 40mg each day and it helped with the stomach acid (the burning, the liquid in the throat feeling) but it did not help with the stomach spasms, the cramping, and the gagging. I'm not sure whether this is brought on by the medication but I've been feeling lightheaded and on occasions, feel like I'm really going to pass out. I am hoping to get some opinions on what's causing these problems and whether I should be taking something other than Nexium.
Avatar f tn Before I ask my question, I need to provide some historical information. A. I am waiting for surgery to have bilaterial complete TMJ replacement. I have severe pain in my left TMJ and ear. B. I take pain meds including Oxycontin and Dilaudid for my TMJ/ear/face pain. C. I have had stomach pain, nausea & dizziness for several years and take Nexium 40mg daily. If I don't take the Nexium, my stomach pain comes back. My family doctor says I have IBS. D. I get nausea & dizziness.
Avatar m tn Hi...I am on Nexium and synthroid....can I take them together in the morning and hour before breakfast? I am supposed to take them both in AM. Thanks....
Avatar m tn that you were on anyway right? if he or she knew you were on nexium and xanax and still prescribed it to you then it should be okay i guess. also the same for your doc. that prescribed you the nexium. sometimes you can find on certain websites like drugs.com or something how certain meds react with others.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm new to this site. I was recently diagnosed with GERD, and prescribed to nexium. Today is the 2 week mark of taking nexium. The only symptom I seem to get is really bad belching and it feels like there is a lump in my throat, those were the same symptoms I had when I was diagnosed. I had the same symptom for about a month before i went in. Maybe once or twice did I get heartburn or get an acidic taste in my mouth.
Avatar f tn Hi, I don't think diverticulitis is hereditary, and it normally shows up after 40. There is a lot of pain associated with diverticulitis and you don't mention pain. Nexium is used to treat GERD (acid reflux). I would have him see a gastroenterologist regarding this. I would also want someone to tell you why he developed high BP at such a young age, this in itself is unusual.
Avatar f tn I have had gerd plus a hiatal hernia for years. I take nexium and have for at least ten years. Now I am told I have iron defiency anemia. Reading through the insert that comes with nexium it appears this drug could cause the anemia. Has anybody experienced this?
Avatar n tn Where are the pains exactly? I'm having intense stomach pains from the top of my naval to the top of my stomach and they are refrerring it to GERD (Acid Reflux Disease). I'd go see your GI and see if they can do an upper endoscopy on you. I'm going in on the 3rd to for one to see if I have GERD or a peptic ulcer. Drink a lot of water and a very bland diet (toast with peanut butter).
