neurontin

233622 tn?1279334905 Hi there, I'm not on Vicoden but on Neurontin... isn't the Neurontin working? What dose are you taking of that? I guess it doesn't take care of all the pain, I should know that too. But then I'm only taking 1200mg a day of Neurontin and my leg pains are bad in the evening and through the day at times too. I would ask you Dr for other types of meds if you are in so much pain... hang in there and let us know how things go...
Avatar f tn It is always best to check with your doctor. But since your doctor is out of town you could call a pharmacist just to verify everything. That being said I will say that you should be fine just stopping it but I would check with someone in the health field first just to be safe. I was taking about 1800mg a night for ten days while detoxing off of vicodin. I didn't feel any negative symptoms from stopping it.
Avatar f tn m looking for something other than Vicodin, Percocet and Neurontin (3600 mg/day) to use for pain. The Vicodin works a little bit, as does the Percocet. The Neurontin also works a little bit and again, am looking for one pain RX that would work for all instead of taking more than one. Have a friend on the Fentanyl patch and she swears by it. Says it is much better at pain relief than the Percocet or Vicodin and she's not on Neurontin. Please help.
Avatar f tn I just want people struggling with the debilitating side effects of vicodin withdrawal know that they don't have to suffer. Ask your doctor for neurontin or gabbbapentin. I am a 3 year severe (20-30) norco addict and I decided to stop the maddness but was afraid of the muscle pain i've felt before. With neurontin I have none of those spasms cramps or depression and mood swings. It also gives me no "high" feeling at all so its not a temptation for abuse or addiction.
Avatar m tn I know most of this stuff will subside and it will just be about staying away from the Vicodin that takes the edge off. Neurontin has been suggested and seems less dangerous than Suboxone. Can anyone give me an opinion on this? I can't go through these withdrawals again. I am begging for help.
Avatar f tn I have taken neurontin for withdrawals from vicodin and it helped tremendously. I was originally prescribed neurontin for nerve pain due to sciatica but it didn't help with that. I read about it on the net and found it is used in some detox facilities for withdrawals. When taking it the only symptoms I felt were the chills, a tad bit of anxiety, and a little lack of energy. I have went cold turkey in the past without anything and can say that when I used neurontin it made a huge difference.
Avatar n tn It sounds like you have tried everything but I will still ask just in case, have you ever been on neurontin or similar anti seizure meds. I also have fibro and migraines, I totally understand the smell thing, mine isnt as severe, but exhaust, perfumes, lots of smells can trigger a flare up.
Avatar f tn I'm detoxing from vicodin and norcos that I've been taking for about a year now. I was taking 7-10 a day. Its been 2 days without and my main side effect it anxiety. I wanna know if it will even go away and if so what is the normal time for it to last?
483757 tn?1208481255 My OB took me off of all of my Fibro meds at the beginning of pregnancy. (Meds were- Neurontin, Cyclobenzaprine, Baclofen, Trazodone, Vit. D and Tramadol) The only thing she will allow me to take is 1/2 to 1 tab of Vicodin 10/500mg a day even though narcotics have NEVER worked for my pain and she knows that- and I hate Vicodin. At every appointment, I tell her that my pain is worsening and unbearable but her only suggestions have been more narcotics and warm water exercise.
Avatar n tn if i quit cold turkey and just take the gabapentin (neurontin) will that be enough to help with withdrawals? or should i taper myself down on the vicodin and xanax a little bit, and then do the gaba therapy (i don't want to go in and have ANY doctor do anything)... help...?
Avatar n tn I have nerve pain, primarily in my lower legs, and have been put on Lyrica, Neurontin and soon will start on Cymbalta to see if I get a better result with the pain. In addition, I am taking baclofen before bedtime for the pain. The good thing about baclofen is that it helps relax the muscles spasms, but doesn't do anything for the numbness/tingling. Thats ok though because the numbness and tingling are not my main concerns anymore.
Avatar n tn t get in to the neurologist for another 3 weeks. I have already been on Neurontin so they added carbamazepine. She gave me some Vicodin for two days worth while the carbamazepine builds up... but so far, I'm still in constant pain that the Vicodin only barely relieves.
Avatar n tn If neurontin stopped the pain when a pain pill like ibuprofen or even Vicodin doesn't then it does seem like your Trigeminal nerve is involved. Doctors often give Tegretol as a way to diagnose Trigeminal pain. There is a great diagram of the Trigeminal nerve and all it's little sub-branches on Bartleby .com. Look for grays anatomy book on their website. The Trigeminal nerve has sub-branches into every tooth.
Avatar f tn what type of issues r u having with it? Lyrica is the new neurontin..more abused than neurontin but has not been cited as physically habit forming//much stronger with more of an urge to abuse it for some than neurontin//altho there r peeps who abuse nyquil trams affect the MIU recptors same as narcotics do//they also affect seratonin levels making depression a big issue with wd from trams..trams are physically and mentally habit forming..
Avatar f tn Hey Gizzy how are you?I am doing ok.I have a problem with these darn tramadol's and want to put a end to it.I used neurontin for the vicodin w/d's a long time back and they worked pretty good.I slept,no body pain or rls.It has been a while since I used it.I remember not feeling like 100% but it was way way better than going cold turkey for me.I remember it making me feel drowsey some what and I remember my feet would tingle but other than that it worked well for me.
Avatar f tn I have recently been prescribed to Robaxin, Vicodin and Gabapentin for back pain/sciatica. Anyone have experience with these meds?
Avatar m tn whether u were abusing them or not...i know about 2 years ago, i was taking Vicodin 5mg, 6 per day for about 1-2 months, never abused them, had pain, etc...when i stopped, i felt like ***@**** called my doc and he said, yeah, could be WDs...i had no idea...i looked it up online and sure enough, it was... i didnt use Nuerontin though, so someone else may have a different answer....
Avatar m tn I have been treated w/Vicodin for awhile now for chronic pain. I have now moved from the US to India, where it is not available. Any recommendation for alternatives? I can't take codeine long term, and take Effexor, neurontin and metformin daily, w/Soma PRN as well. I can have scripts shipped here if need be, but wold prefer to avoid the hassle/expense.
Avatar f tn I have been on vicodin for a nexk injury since February. I started to see a pain doctor but I keep coming up short. It's ruining my life. I have kicked a worse addiction to oxyir several years ago. I have some klonopin 0.5mg, tizanidine and flexeril. I cant keep living this way. I'm not strong enough to taper down. Does anyone have any suggestions on things I could take. Last time I used neurontin but I don't have those this time. I haven't gotten the pain yet but I can sleep.
Avatar n tn I have read a few things about Lyrica, but I would like to know what other's experiences have been. I had a fusion at c5-6 about 1 month ago. For the first 3 weeks, the terrible pain I had near my shoulder blade was gone. Around week 4, the pain started up again on the other side of my body. Pre-surgery, I just had right side pain. That is gone now but I have left side pain. I am taking vicodin, but I obviously can't take that forever. I have to go back to work in 2 weeks.
Avatar n tn Thanks so much for your response. Yes, I am on a bi-pap machine; however, the sleep apnea I think began well before I gained the weight, and I have read where it can actually cause weight gain (a chicken or the egg debacle). I woke up with headaches so bad I had to get up to take the pressure off my head against the pillow. That was 100 pounds ago. I thought it was just migraines, but always found that getting up and moving around cured the headache more often than not.
Avatar n tn Hi...my history is this: 8 years ago had terrible back injury and since have had 6 surgeries. Over the years I've taken different levels of vicodin, oxy, morphine, percocet, percodan, neurontin...and muscle relaxers, sleeping pills, anxiety meds... Right now I'm doing the best I have since my injury. Currently I'm taking vicodin 7.5--4/day, neurontin 600mg--6/day and avinza 30mg--2/day.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Vicodin for about a month now due to back issues and subsequent surgery. I'm still in pain but I want to stop taking them sooner rather than later. Will I have problems with withdrawal after taking 10/325 every 4-6 hrs for about 30 days now? Should I plan to do anything special? Thanks for your help...I want to stop this before it becomes a problem.
