1974283 tn?1425609124 So I finally got to see the doctor the other day for a condition I had been struggling with. I thought I had vaginismus as that's where everything pointed me. Turns out that it's not my muscles, more so a nervous reaction. I was wondering if there's any women on here that have over come this or are slowly getting better. I have started treatment of lydocaine cream, physio therapy, and minor anti-anxiety medications, but I am still nervous that this isn't going to get better.

Avatar n tn Because a lot of the symptoms can be similar to those of a fungal infection like Thrush or a bacterial infection, it is very important for you to see your doctor. Vulvar vestibulitis is a complex condition and it requires careful assessment by your doctor and for to be given the correct diagnosis to manage this condition.
492652 tn?1252945408 I have been to multiples gynecologists because of pain upon penetration/change in odor and I was diagnosed with vulvar vestibulitis. I have been tested for just about everything it seems - no bacterial infections, no yeast infection. The odor isn't really foul, just different. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance!
Avatar n tn Hi and welcome to MedHelp. I also take percocet along with neurontin (gabapentin). The gabapentin is very similar to lyrica. I drink coffee 4-5 days per week and I haven't encountered any issues and I have been on percocet for almost a year and gabapentin for almost 2 years. I don't think there are any severe reactions when coffee is mixed with percocet or lyrica or both.
8496079 tn?1398412516 Has the drug Gabapentin (generic for Neurontin) worked for Fibromyaglia pain within a few days of taking this medication for the horrible pain from the Fibro? I was put on Gabapentin (generic for Neurontin) yesterday by my doctor for my Fibromyalgia Condition in addition to the Norco 7.5/325 I can take up to 4 pills day as needed for the massive pain I'm in.
Avatar f tn Hey! I was recently diagnosed with HPV and genital warts. I've never had any syptoms of HPV before this. Once my Pap smear wasn't clean. I think that was about 8 years ago. But I've never actually been tested for HPV before and all of my other pap smears have been clean. I've always had pap smears every two years. I have been with my husband for 10 years and I have been faithfull. I had vulvar vestibulitis for about 8 years during our relationship.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else been prescribed neurontin for headaches? My neurologist said that MRI was fine other than a small venous angioma and seemed to think my headaches (continuous for two months) are caused by neck and muscle problems. He put me on neurontin which has greatly improved my headaches but I've already gained six pounds in three weeks. Besides that I feel like I'm in a fog, forgetful, and generally kind of "duh huh" feeling. I can't take Topomax because of glaucoma.
Avatar f tn I take 300mg Neurontin at night for Migraine prevention and have gained 5 pounds on it over the course of 6 weeks. I hope that that the weight gain will taper off.
Avatar m tn Get your blood pressure checked in both supine and sitting position. MRI cervical spine is diagnostic for cervical spondylosis. Vestibulitis can be managed by sedatives and anti histaminics. What drugs are you taking for hypertension?
Avatar f tn I know people have taken neurontin for hydro w/d's and it helped,I wonder if it would work for tramadol w/d's.Has anyone ever tried it?
564491 tn?1320360393 I have tried almost every medication and procedure recommended. I am now taking Neurontin, and am wondering if anyone takes Neurontin, what dosage has been helpful, and if it has made a difference in the condition of your headaches/migraines. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that you should request to see a neurologist. You might have benign postural vertigo, or vestibulitis or Meniere's disease, or any of a number of other conditions that can cause dizziness/vertigo. There are medications that can help with the symptoms. Ask for a consultation with a neurology specialist. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I have now had burning and soreness of the vulva and vaginal area for over six months, and I was tested for everything you could imagine as well as herpes. After every test came back negative, I was finally diagnosed with Vulvodynia and Vulvar Vestibulitis. Please look both of these conditions up, as just because you have previously had a diagnosis of herpes, it does not mean that your symptoms are due to it.
459075 tn?1224121598 I have been on the neurontin for over 3 months now so i dont really think it could be a side effect from that. Anyone got any advise?

Avatar f tn I went to dermatalogist for a yearly check-up and asked about a recurring sore just inside my nostril. I do have rosacea. She thought it was a clogged pore but when she and the nurse took a look with a pen light, they noticed a bright red rash inside my nose. They referred me to an ENT doctor. I do not have symptoms of pain, itching other than the recurring sore. When I showed the sore to my GP a couple of years ago, he told me it looked like a skin tag and he said he would freeze it off.
1391312 tn?1421086993 so I call the GYN going out of my mind and says to give it some for the premarin to work 3 weeks, my god...then he says well maybe it could be VVS I put the link above and wants me to try low dose Amitriptyline---I have strong percocets that aren't helping, he thinks that will---I guess I'm on my own to figure this one out,,,,doctors!
1551327 tn?1514045867 Gapapentin and neurontin are same. What pharmacist told me they are ok for month or so. But long term definitely addictive. Its for nerve pain. Personally i found out they messed my head up like crazy and caused massive weight gain. Just ask pharmacist.
Avatar f tn I am so sorry for your pain. I have taken Neurontin and it really did nothing for my pain but there are also some people that it has changed their lifes so it really depends on the person. A few people on here take it and it works great for them so I am hoping they will reply to your post. Plus the side effects for me was really bad, I couldn't handle them, my nerve dr wanted me to take 1800mg a day and there was no way I could handle the side effects of that high of a dose.
Avatar f tn Looking for people's experiences with Neurontin 1) in general and 2) specifically if its helpful for withdrawal. The poll is for people's experiences using Neurontin during withdrawal - not necessarily FOR withdrawal but just if you used during. lso let me know if you feel like it, what it actually helped with. If you have other experiences with it, please comment on this post and let me know. I was prescribed it weeks ago for facial pain, but I havent filled it.
Avatar f tn s not a controlled substance. Neurontin can work great for sciatic pain so hopefully it helps you get some relief.
630344 tn?1280104983 I'm taking the generic form, just recently resumed but have used it in the past. Neurontin is Rx-ed for nerve pain as an "off label" use, that it, treating nerve pain is not the function for which it was designed so it's not listed as a use on the manufacturer's label. It is actually an anti-seizure med, but it was found to also reduce neuropathy in patients. It is my understanding that Lyrica works much in the same way, and is a newer medication by the same company.
