neurontin bladder

Can anyone tell me if they have had urinary retention while taking Neurontin? I will feel the need to go, then sit on the toilet for up to 3 minutes before I can begin to urinate. I have only been taking Neurontin now for a few weeks.

Margot, what do you drink in any giving day? water- orange juice-milk ext. I took some pro-biotic and was drinking orange juice in the morning and dammed if I didn't get some bad nausea 3 days in a row so I cut out the orange juice and pro-biotic in the morning and it stopped. I had drank orange juice in the morning for the longest time without problems.

ive been on tramadol for about 3 years now it started with gall bladder pain and then i got hooked and faked pain to get scripts..im over being on this drug its addictive and it controls my life, i have been without for a couple of days at a time but get bad withdraws, mainly the restless legs at night and i cant sleep, im groggy during the day and really short tempered and just cant concentrate...

I have been on the neurontin for over 3 months now so i dont really think it could be a side effect from that. Anyone got any advise?

It was from having degenerative disk disease and it had nerves in between the bone on bone vertabre. The urologist said my bladder is prolapsing not a lot but some. I had bladder suspension surgery done several years back. My back Dr and the urologist both want me to go to a pain mgmt clinic (which I do not want to do) to see if they can get the pain under control. That is just treating the symptoms but not fixing the problem. The pain is so bad it wakes me up at night.

Hi I was just wondering what a relapse feels like, these last few weeks have been really bad for me, with severe vertigo and my entire left arm which goes numb for no reason as well as annoying tinnitus, and a little problem of bladder control at night, does this sound like a relapse or something, I was also on a months course of ARV's due to a needle stick injury and it has been playing merry havock with me and I'm wondering if that caused the symptoms to become worse, if anyone has any

By thursday the lumps reappeared under my legs and by saturday I couldnt walk again (with use of my walker) and by sunday I had bladder retention again. Could it be that m antibitotics were gone so my body went back to the way it was before? Not that I thought it was related at the time but I felt all in all pretty ok while on the antibiotics. I could walk without pain, wasnt as fatigued etc... I thought I was feelin better because my dose of neurontin had been increased.

Will Neurontin show up on a drug test? Took one last night and will possibly be taking a drug test tomorrow morning? Does anyone know for sure? Thanks a bunch!

Please be careful with using Neurontin... my husband who is addicted to opiates has become addicted to the Neurontin as well. It may sound silly, and I don't have a ton of knowledge on drugs and such, but you can find and read countless forums with people talking about how they abuse the drug, and the horrible withdrawals they go through when running out of it.

My doctor is starting me on Neurontin. Has anyone had any luck with it or had any side effects?

I mentioned neurontin awhile back. There was a news episode where a clinic was using it as part of a detox plan. I went from taking around 200 mg of hydro to cold turkey. I've been through withdrawals without it so I know exactly how much the suck! I used neurontin and was able to go on with life. I still had the chills and some anxiety, but you was bearable. It really helped me the most with sleep. The only side effect I had from it was a tinge of a headache and a little fuzzy headed.

I'm just curious if anyone is hearing that Neurontin is being abused? I was given this for nerve pain but couldn't tolerate it as it caused serious slurring of my words to the point people thought I was intoxicated. I also had trouble word-finding on it. But I didn't think it was something anyone abused. (Though I slurred my words, I didn't feel high or intoxicated with it; I sort of felt locked in ... I knew in my head what word I wanted but couldn't get it out.

Has anyone had an experience with neurontin? It was prescribed for burning hands and feet and I feel very wierd and crazy..and dizzy.

Hello I have a question about neurontin. I recently stopped taking tramadol after 13 years. I had a very difficult time doing so. I stopped Dec 6. My doctor put me on neurontin but I think I am now having withdrawal symptoms from neurontin. I have been taking about 900 mg a day since September. It gives me a lot of side effects such as drowsiness and the inability to think quickly.

Do you feel that this is related to stopping Neurontin ??? Also, are Neurontin and Lyrica the same drug? I have been hearing this, but have not found anything to support this in my google search. Do you have any opinions about the use of Neurontin for opiate withdrawal? Nauty..........

I nedd to let you know taht there are NO Doctors on this Forum ONLY CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other with their own expertise and experience that they have gained from their own Pain issues. I'm sorry that you aren't getting any relief from your Neurontin.

The basic question is - How long should it take to feel relief from taking Neurontin? I have been taking 3000Mg a day for about 3 weeks now and still haven't noticed any difference. A little background. I have been doctoring since April 1st for pins & needles/numbness/tightening/pain/tingling in both hands. Also, my arms and chest feel as if I have an extremely tight shirt on. The MRI revealed a spinal cord lesion at C3.

My doctor has suggested I try neurontin (or I guess the generic version). I'm not very fond of taking medicine (I know, I'll have to get over that real quick if I get diagnosed LOL). I will most likely try this. I think my sleep is being interrupted after a few hours sleep because I'm uncomfortable. Not in pain so much, but sore and achey.

Anybody ever have serious eye trouble with neurontin? When I take it one pupil is larger than the other and pulses. Of course, my doc says this is not a side effect. I saw the eye doc today and he wasn't pleased. I have to have a test on Monday to hopefully prove it is the drug and not something horrid. I know it is the drug as I dropped it and my eyes went back to normal. I know now I have to drop it slowly or I will possibly get a seizure. Anybody who has had this, please write!

Well, I finally got my prescription filled and it is Neurontin. has anyone taken this?? I looked it up, but would love to hear from anyone who has taken it before I take it tonight. Reading about it kind of freaked me out....

I did stop the neurontin 3 days ago and in the meantime have picked up the worst cold I have had in years. At least my pupils seem to be about the same size now and I can finally focus much better. The other symptoms seem to be going away as well. Now, if I can beat this cold so I can get to the gym and start exercising maybe I can get the endorphins working and get rid of the pain I seem to be stuck with.

Looking for people's experiences with Neurontin 1) in general and 2) specifically if its helpful for withdrawal. Anyone taking neurontin for anxiety? I was started on it almost 3 weeks ago...I was started out only on 100mg at bedtime, now I"m taking 200mg. Has anyone had any horrible side effects? After the 200mg I feel sort of drugged and really sleepy (although it didn't help me sleep, odd.) Just wondering what your experiences are.
