neurontin

2033870 tn?1329481339 I have rapid cycling bipolar as well as post traumatic stress disorder. He has me on Xanax for anxiety, Zoloft and Neurontin for mood stabilizer. Can anyone tell me what they think of Neurontin and if it words? I am very intrigued to know if I am on a good medicine or if this isn't good. I don't go back to him for 3 weeks.
Avatar f tn Hi, The affordable alternatives to Lyrica are -Neurontin ,Topamax and Cymbalta. Since you have had no relief from Topamax, you can try the other two . if still you feel no better ,please consult your neurologist to suggest an alternative.Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
Avatar m tn Then, about 2 ½ years ago I had a near-psychotic meltdown, mostly about the devil and evil spirits, and was diagnosed with OCD and prescribed Anafranil and Zyprexa, which helped with the irrational thinking and obsessive thoughts a little. Between now and then, I have been diagnosed with OCD, Social anxiety disorder, GAD, major depressive disorder, ADHD, and most recently, aspergers/high functioning autism.
1041243 tn?1375230520 A week ago my psychiatrist stopped my 200 mgs of zoloft and started me on luvox 50 mgs a day for the first two weeks then 100 mgs a day there after. A couple days later I started expiriencing major withdrawal symptoms, severe anxiety and panic (more so than usual), insomnia, and some slight agoraphobia (I don't like to leave the house, but I will if I need too) and even stronger ocd symptoms.
299889 tn?1257339377 xanax is good. there is one option you can discuss with your pdoc, it's gabapentin (neurontin) it's very good for anxiety and is a mood stabilizer. my pdoc doesn't want it for me i don't know why, he said neurologists rather than psychiatrist who precribe it. but i read it's effective for anxiety.
Avatar m tn She does take medications on a daily basis, (zoloft, welbutrin, neurontin, B-12, and lamictal) for depression and anxiety. Some of the symptoms are possible side effects but, all of them? Please help!!
Avatar f tn Other antidepressants are also helpful, such as zoloft, and the treatment for both neuropathy and fibromyalgia is similar, and often, more than one medication is necessary to control the symptoms. Combinations of medications are not necessarily harmful if taken as prescribed, and if certain other things (such as excessive alcohol consumption) is consumed at the same time. Many people are on combinations similar to yours and find benefit without major side effects.
Avatar f tn They still feel it is a psychological issue and prescribe drugs for treatment of this. I have discontinued all drugs, other than 25 mg of zoloft and pain meds. for RSD. I am now using colloid silver to fight the bacteria and have better results with this than any prescription drug. **Check my journal regarding this** There are options for treating FMS. Since research shows that pathogens are involved, if they aren't treating them the drugs giving are only masking symptoms.
Avatar m tn I have been on 200 mg Zoloft, 200 mg lamictal, wellbutrin and 3 mg Xanax daily for 3 years. before welbutrin I was on abilify and it worked very well but it was unaffordable so doc changed it to welbutrin , which I never thought worked. I started feeling down and anxious and asked the dr to change me back to abilify since I had new ins that will cover it . Instead she weaned me off the Zoloft in only 9 days with instructions to start pristiq 50 mg daily after the nine days.
Avatar f tn hi there i have been on a variety of meds before, and I started on zoloft as a child. then I went to paxil, neurontin, and now i'm back to zoloft/wellbutrin. I noticed that I had terrible heartburn for about a week after I started taking zoloft. I think that's fairly common. I also think that you have to sort of experiment with what time of day is better for you... some people have more luck in the morning, some at night. It works better for me at night. I would just give it a chance.

458072 tn?1291415186 I almost feel like just going back to taking Zoloft, and forgetting I have hypo. I felt so much better! That was just 4 months ago! Stopping it and trying to fix my thyroid has just screwed up my whole life. I'm grumpy, grouchy, tired, exhausted, fatigued, and miserable. How's that for my vent today!
600041 tn?1356160129 I'm currently on .5mg clonazepam three times a day, 14 100mg of neurontin, and .5 xanax a day. (I am very slowly weaning off the xanax entirely so I can take it purely on an 'as needed' basis. My body currently hates me for this and is showing every addiction sign it can.) My doctor recently prescribed zoloft to help with my 'depression'. Firstly, I don't feel like depression is a major issue for me except on days when the anxiety gets overwhelming.
Avatar f tn My psychiatrist is thinking about it for my anxiety, since nothing is working since a terrible and weird and untreated Paxil withdrawal four years ago. And to the poster, she says it's okay to take with klonopin, if that's any help, since I'm on klonopin and asked her about that.
Avatar m tn m not sure about that because when i weaned..i did it very slowly and then to none..and had very few w/ds..
1359227 tn?1282522148 Dear Shorty, I have taken two types of gaba drugs, Neurontin and Lyrica, and they both killed my lumbar back pain that NO OTHER medicine touched, including a mild codeine medicine I take for my legs. The first one I took was Lyrica (sertraline) and OVERNIGHT my low back pain was gone. I really like that medicine. But at some point, it became so expensive (my private insurance didn't cover it as good as my current Medicare), that I had to go over to Neurontin.
Avatar m tn I have had to doctors tell me it is not addictive. I coul not take it, it made me sick. Talk to your doc.about it they should be able to tell you. Sometimes it is hard to trust what they are saying when it comes to drugs tho, at least that has been my experience. I try to research everything before I take it. I trust a pharmacist more than the doc. After all that is there speciality.
Avatar f tn I wanted off in early december after a TDR performed in nov so i tapered down started zoloft and flushed the rest of the percs. I began feeling so out of control i decided, being a RN from an er, to go to a rehab facility to help me out in detox. They kicked me out after the 3rd day saying i wasnt an addict and opiate withdrawal couldnt be the cause.. got MUCH worse.. bit the bullet and went to my own er where people know me.. i had seratonin syndrome.
549269 tn?1236130637 He said I can try just the effexor/zoloft and current neurontin, etc until I find something that works well. I will up the neurontin though and hope it helps with the pain I'm having all over. I am going to follow up with him September 5th and see how things go. I do plan on making an appointment with another neurologist for late september though in case nothing comes of it.
1298907 tn?1272886488 I tried neurontin. That was a horrible experience. It made me violently ill (nausea and vomiting) and kept my mind in a cloud. I'll never try that one again. As others have said, we all react to medications differently. This is just my experience with them. Hopefully your experience will be a good one.
1221035 tn?1301000508 I am taking a strong dosage of neurontin and I have the same effects as described. I can sit for up to 5-7 minutes before a flow begins. Not sure if it is the neurontin or a pain medication. I have nerve damage and need both medications.
Avatar f tn m currently taking celexa and it is doing a great job w/the depression. I take Neurontin for the pain and the generic of it is also inexpensive.
Avatar f tn Yes I became parinoid and and anxious I got off it immediatley and switched to kolonipin which works well for me
Avatar f tn I have been having really bad anxiety on and off. The Dr. gave me Zoloft and it seems to have helped with my anxiety. But as it is I have a very hard time getting restful sleep. When I do sleep I have ongoing dreams and my mind doesn't get any rest. Now with the Zoloft my sleep is much less restful. Any suggestions?
