Neurontin and ultram

Common Questions and Answers about Neurontin and ultram

neurontin

Avatar f tn It is a lot less expensive than Ultram ER, just a little less convienet because you are taking more pills and need to do it as close to every six hours as feasible. Ultram ER reacted with another med I was taking, causing what began to look like Seratonin Syndrome.
Avatar f tn I did get a script once for Ultracet but it was not as good for my pain. Do you feel that Ultram is helpful with this condition and also, is it a bad thing that I am not on any other kind of drug such as Neurontin or Lyrica for this condition. Thanks.
372880 tn?1332879487 I am incapable of taking pain meds responsibly...The last 3 weeks I have taken opana and a few ultram. I searched every closet, old purse, drawers ect, Nothing like a little desperation. I now have nothing except a RX for ultram that I refuse to fill....So tomorrow I start over, scared and desperate, defeated once again, a ride i fear i will NEVER be able to exit. The BEAST is alive in me. Help me please...
Avatar f tn The Neurontin just makes me feel normal, I really am not craving a Percocet and that in itself is amazing. And since Neurontin is a nerve medicine, I thought I would be too sleepy but I don't feel anything at all on it, just normal. I know how horrible withdrawal is, I just couldn't face it without something to help and I just had to share this info with everyone out there suffering. Please let me know if it does help you.
Avatar n tn I have heard that ultram is good for that but then you are addicted to the ultram. I also heard neurontin is helpful and that topomax is similar so I wondered if anyone had tried topomax for withdrawal.
Avatar n tn Was prescribed hydrocodone. One thing led to another and 2 years, 100 thousand dollars and countless broken dreams later I am walking out of rehab after a 90 day stay. I tried methadone, suboxone, tapering, controlling.... it didn't work, rehab did though. I guess I'm just one of those addicts with no control at all over my disease. Anyways, Now I'm out of treatment I need something for depression and anxiety. SSRI's do not work, they give me akathesia.
Avatar f tn I have been using Ultram-100mg. tablets since January. My rhuematologist put me on it, 2 tablets -four times a day just this past week. We've grown from 2 a day to 8, I never miss a pill (I take 18 pills in all per day.)The Ultram helps better than not being on anything for the pain. I was on Lyrica and then Neurontin and the side effects were terrible. I've also done the Lorecet, Percocet and Vicadin.
719785 tn?1232901518 they increased it to 60 mg and added ultram. It just made me more forgetful, clumsy and tired. I guess my question is... Is this normal and are there any other treatments that actually work. The pain makes me very irritable and the lack of sleep/rest isn't helping either.
9704730 tn?1405741284 I know at the beginning the neurontin took away the worst symptoms of insomnia and creepy crawling skin that kept me from sitting still. I am not sure if that would still be there without the neurontin. I am also very afraid to stay on the neurontin. I don't want to have a withdrawal from that.
378810 tn?1201987233 I lost 40 lbs 3 years ago and have kept it off until like 8 months ago when pain doc started trying neurontin and lyrica for chronic myofascial pain..which did not work...and kept putting on weight. Now back on lyrica for nerve pain in TN but not really helping. What other drugs work that don't make you gain weight?? Okay sorry, just a downer day..or week..any input would be great on meds that work for TN..God Bless you all.
Avatar f tn I take Wellbutrin XL 300 mg once a day and Tramadol 50 mg. every six hours. I have not noticed any side effects at all using these two together. Also don't notice any difference in pain. Now I'm also taking Neurontin and Naproxen on top of it....now I have some side effects! Take care and I hope you feel better.
376940 tn?1241682007 How risky is it to take Effexor XR and Ultram together? My pharmacist alerted me to the fact that it was risky. I have just been diagnosed with Multi Level Degenerative Disc Hypertrophy and am having a difficult time with managing my pain, but don't want to take the Ultram if it's dangerous. What would you recommend for treating pain while taking Effexor XR? Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn I am currently on Neurontin (gabapentin), and wanting to switch to Lyrica. I have heard great things about it. I suffer from nerve pain from scoliosis and am on painkillers too. I am hoping the switching to lyrica will help with the amount of painkillers I need to take in the run of a day. A friend of mine suffers from Fibromyalgia and started taking Lyrica over a month ago and has had wonderful results. Best of luck trying out the Lyrica!
1689696 tn?1305819097 The docs office just called and I was told to stop taking the ultram and was told to take ibuprofen until Monday. Hopefully the cortisone shot helps I'm tired of being in pain she said the shot takes about a week to work so i guess I'm just in pain I'm so frustrated!! Thanks for your answer.
Avatar f tn Then my medical doc dismissed me from his care, saying I was a drug seeker. That was not true. I had called and asked for Xanax with refills, and Buspar. He saw those calls on my chart and jumped to conclusion. Also told me he doesn't prescribe pain meds. I told him I was not asking for anything but refills on my Xanax. He gave me one bottle of X.and told me to find another Dr. The only one I knew that I could get into see, cannot prescribe Xanax.
Avatar f tn I have chronic pain from fibromyalgia and I have been taking ultram for it ... well I have been taking it so long I got addicted anyways I ran out and cant get it filled for a few days yet and I'm in the process of moving.. Ugh.. having WD symptoms while packing and moving boxes is a nightmare!
1059594 tn?1261323966 t seem as long as some of you, this has been 1 1/2 years now and I just feel worse than ever. My doctor is working with me I guess, I take Ultram, Ambien and Neurontin, which neither really do much of any good. I see him only ever 3 months or so, and he'll up the dose of Neurontin. I don't know what else to do, what else to say? I'm only 22, with this horrible pain. I know that a lot of you have came and past this point which I'm at, what changed? What did you do?
Avatar m tn How long did you have to stay on the neurontin to get through all the withdrawals and did you find your pain gone when you came off it? I have many issues with neurontin and can't be going anyplace if I take it, so it is not a good drug for a replacement for me pain medications. I had been on it for about 6 weeks (it did work for withdrawals) but when I stopped the pain was there in full force.
Avatar f tn I just read someone was getting off of vic and ultram. My doc just gave me Ultram I take oxy now and am trying to start a tapper off plan. Anyway I did not know ultram was also something you can get hooked on. He told me to take 4 50mgs a day. Also to take my oxy 5 times I take the 20'mgs. I am going to start to tapper tom a.m. I dont want to take the ultram if I can get hooked on it also. Please help!! I don't know weather to take it or not.
1472677 tn?1330175915 I was not aware that you were on Neurontin, Ultram, Vicodin and Valium for pain. That is one heck of a combination and I know it would surely make me sick to my stomach. There are risks going cold turkey off of most of those medications and I surely would not recommend that you attempt to do this alone, attempt cold turkey, and most importantly..do not attempt to go off of them all at once. Please speak with your prescribing doctor and get yourself on a plan with him.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 200 mg of Ultram for 6 months for herniated discs and leg pain. I was under the impression that they were a non-narcotic pain reliever and weren't addictive. However, I found out I'm pregnant last week so I discontinued the medication. This caused me to experience severe withdrawal symptoms along with the back pain. I was concerned the withdrawal would cause a miscarriage so I continued to take them at half the usual dose.
1059594 tn?1261323966 For others with peripheral neuropathy, how is your pain controlled? Does anything help? I take Neurontin 3,600 MG a day and 400 MG a day of Ultram. Neither really help much, I've told the doctor this, he keeps upping the Neurontin. I just don't know if it's possible to control my type of pain or what to use to control it. This will be my 5th appt with my Neuro next tuesday, what are some suggestions, how do I explain this to him again?
874521 tn?1424116797 achy, throbbing and weakness in my legs. I am on oxycontin which gives NO relief to this area, I also use neurontin and that does help with the sciatica but NOT the achy throbbing and weakness in the legs....this has esculated over a 10-12 yr period. I also now have walnut sized lumps in the thigh area that are very tender(also not new, just esculating). question is this FMS, do others have similar symptoms and are told its FMS?
Avatar m tn good drug and bad drug both are addictive. Hrdo gives more pain releif with less bad effects but both have them. Tramadol ultram is just no good.
Avatar f tn I took Ultram for a while and getting off of the medication was horrible....I have chills and sweating, restless legs and creepy crawlies...I could not concentrate and my heart was pounding in my chest for 4 days stright...It was the worst...If you can talk to your doctor before taking this medicine...espically the er ultram....It is highly addictive and despite what people say it is hard to get off of.
