751951 tn?1406632863 Weird, though, that balance and eye pain seem to run together for me a lot of the time, and tinnitus can be up and down in a similar time frame. The med switch described up above might be connected, but I was off balance before I missed that one dose yesterday. Hmmm. Well, I better fly. God bless, always.
Avatar n tn I've had tinnitus and benign essential tremor for over twenty years and have tried everything both alopathic and alternative. Finally after having a vasectomy and being given an opiate I realized that it calmed the noise in my head and stopped the tremor. Before that I was drinking heavily and my doctor prescribed hydrocodone which was compounded to avoid additives. I took that for about three years.
Avatar f tn Google Ativan and ringing in the ears, rondoo. The ringing is a w/d symptom and Ativan, being a short term benzo will keep you in perpetual withdrawal until your next dose. Keep a diary of when the ringing is at it's worst and I will bet it's time for your dose of Ativan. I have severe ringing after coming off Neurontin last Dec, but I had tinnitus to begin, probably from Xanax now that I'm thinking about it, although not to this extent.
Avatar m tn So, I asked to be switched to neurontin and he wrote out 300 mgs. three times daily for me. I took only two doses which made me disoriented, caused my mouth to get very dry, produced sores in my mouth, and the tinnitus I already had jumped higher. What do I do now? I plan to ask to be lowered to 100 mgs. of gabapentin to see if the side effects could be dealt with. I don't want to get back on lyrica. For fibromyalgia I also take xanax and hydrocodone.
551343 tn?1506830518 it doesnt hurt it is just annoying. I have the buzzing all the time in my left ear, and now this ongoing clicking. It comes and goes, 1 second, 5minutes on and off all day........arrggghhhh. Also not being very special right now in a lot of pain and spasms in my left toe again which is very painful. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Avatar f tn 2002) Advancing age may also be accompanied by inner ear damage and tinnitus. Many medications also can cause tinnitus (see list below). Generally this is thought to arise from their effect on the cochlea (inner ear).
Avatar f tn I. too, have tinnitus, but every now and then, I have trouble processing what I'm hearing, and have to ask people to repeat what they've just said to give myself a 2nd chance at understanding what I heard. Ren, that's interesting about the white noise- I tend to hear music or background conversations (that obviously aren't happening) in the presence of white noise. Is that weird or what? I wonder if I should ask my neuro about that?
Avatar n tn If Zoloft curbs stress and anxiety, and stress aggravates tinnitus, there may be just a cause and effect relationship, and not necessarily a medical relationship between the two. I'm sure other health factors could be involved as well.
Avatar n tn I have had a thyroid issue for 9 years and I have dealt with Tinnitus on and off throughout. Last night I woke up with major ringing in my left ear and I would say a 25% loss in hearing. I went to the doctor this morning they do believe it may be caused by the Thyroid since I am way off still on my labwork results. Also, I do notice and I don't know if this is part of it but when I drink alcohol I tend to get the ringing that night and last night I had a glass of wine while out.

7469840 tn?1409845836 My suggestion is forget about it and let time heal. Every heavy drug treatment has possible long term effects. But my tinnitus has retracted to a less noticeable hiss and happens less often. So I expect in time the tinnitus will go away.
Avatar n tn Does Tensor Tympani Muscle have any problem and causes hissing and roaring tinnitus in some cases because of muscle tension. And does it cause pressure fullness, ear pain, jaw pain? If i have problem with my inner ear, why should have pain in jaw? In my case jaw pain happens because of middle ear problems.
1446980 tn?1286838538 s the back of my jaws that hurt, just below the ears, causing them to hurt too. tinnitus is another constant companion and ear pressure seems to change like the wind some days. personally, i think it is all damage done from a lifetime of too many brains in too small a space. but that's just my humble opinion and what do i know. i'm not a dr....i'm only a patient.
Avatar n tn Try valsalva maneuver (take a deep breath and blow while pinching your nostrils shut and closing your mouth). Tinnitus can also be a psychological problem. Hence get a psychiatric assessment too. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn What you PROBABLY have is a bad case of tinnitus. Tinnitus is the ringing you're hearing and it is associated with loss of hearing, depression, and sleep disturbances. The pain is probably caused by hyperacusis, which is another condition that sometimes comes with tinnitus and makes you very sensitive to noise. There is no "cure" for tinnitus, but there are treatments. Eating healthy, exercising, keeping busy, and reducing stress can help.

Avatar f tn My psychiatrist is thinking about it for my anxiety, since nothing is working since a terrible and weird and untreated Paxil withdrawal four years ago. And to the poster, she says it's okay to take with klonopin, if that's any help, since I'm on klonopin and asked her about that.
Avatar f tn I worked for a non-profit for 7 years that serviced hard of hearing and deaf persons. Tinnitus was something we dealt with and it was non-reversible. HOWEVER. A number of the conditions we experience on treatment seem to reverse when the drugs stop. As in nygirl's situation, I hope the same for you. What I'm thinking is that it's yet another reason to keep hgb up in reasonable numbers. That's what I'm thinking, anyway.
469349 tn?1217606941 Hello I am 28 years old and this is what is going on. I have been sick on and off for the past 2 months, on March 5th my body gave up and my husband took me to the ER where they diagnosed me with pneumonia. Was put on antibiotics for 5 days and cough medication.
