It can be substantially more if drugs like Procrit and/or Neupogen are required to maintain red and white cell counts; about 25-30% of patients require some form of rescue drug like that.
Good luck with your appointment; do you know what genotype you have yet? This will help determine the efficacy and duration of treatment. Have you had a biopsy yet, or do you know if one is required?
Oooh, this is interesting, Susie; I wonder if something has changed recently. I know some patient assistance programs in the past have stated they’ll deny assistance to insured, but on appeal they often will. Traditionally, both Roche and Schering Plough have provided assistance to uninsured as well as underinsured.

This is my understanding of the patient assistance programs for Incivek. The list price, which no patient will have to end up paying, is $49,200 for 12 weeks. HOWEVER, the patient assistance programs, are more than generous. Typical Co-pay for the three prescriptions that will be needed will be between $50 and $250 each.

could anyone give me ideas as to where or who i would contact to get some patient assistance for acute hep c treatment? I am not working, cannot wait on s.s. disability. I try to do some construction work when available, but it is really rough.

Without the patient assistance program I probably wouldn't be SVR - when my insurance refused to let me extend, they coudln't have made it easier and didn't even make me feel bad about needing them to help.
Assistance for neupogen, a rescue med for low white blood cells, is available to those with low income from the Safety Net Foundation 1-888 762-6436.
