Avatar f tn Is three weeks of antibiotics long enough?? I did some research on the internet and it said almost everywhere that 1-2 months of anticbiotics is required, otherwise the rash will come back or not disappear at all. Also I was wondering why my dermatologist prescribed an acne cream. The rash is still as red as ever. If it's not acne but perioral dermatitis, why an acne cream? Is there anything else I can do in terms of my lifestyle that might help the condition? e.g.
Avatar m tn Bumps are caused by bacteria. After you shower apply some Germ X and some Body acne medication and Neo-sporin works well too. If you walk a lot , carry some baby powder with you to reduce the friction of your legs rubbing together. University Medical makes a good Acne medication also. Also diaper rash treatment could help too. any of the thing mention from the the previous post and mine should work!! Carry sum germ X with you!!!!
Avatar n tn Can I use this one lotion with 0.5 salicylic acid in it.
Avatar m tn You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. If the symptoms persist then topical and oral antibiotics may be needed for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist.
Avatar n tn My pcp put me on spironolactone (generic Aldactone). The medication is a high blood pressure medication that can be used for adult acne in women. It raises the estrogen, to clear up the acne. It works great for me. I take 50 mg twice a day. The dermatologist wanted to put me on spironolactone before. I refused to take it, because I don't have high blood pressure. The medication that I am taking for acne is also a mild diuretic (water pill) making you urinate more often.
Avatar f tn I also had an IUD that was causing severe cystic acne, and I wondered if that could have been part of the problem. I had the IUD removed, cystic acne (which I had for years) was gone within 10 days, blood work was drawn soon after that. I wondered if my hormones were in flux because I had just had the IUD removed.
Avatar n tn Pat it dry and do not rub it. Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. Back and shoulder acne are quite difficult to treat compared to acne on other parts of the body.
Avatar f tn I'm a 46-year old female in good health and have recently developed a horrible rash that is only on my face. The rash started on a Saturday evening and by Sunday my whole face was red, with raised itchy welts covering most of my face. No new lotions, soaps, foods, meds, etc.. I did put on a fast-acting self-tanning lotion the Wed. before the rash began, but I didn't use the lotion on my face and I washed my hands thoroughly.
Avatar f tn t use any topical medication as it is b.s.! I can tell you one thing, if you are over 30 and still have acne...there is probably a hormonal imbalance. Think about balancing youself from within. Diet and excersize increase my blood circulation and improve my skin drastically. I've noticed that after I cut out grease, fat and complex carbs and start excersizing, my full blown acne goes away and only resurfaces after menstrual cycle, but even that...

Avatar n tn I have an itchy acne like rash on my chest. The rash is made up of acne like sores on the hair follicles, but unlike acne, they itch, and they are generally small without an acne like whitehead. When squezzed there is only a little puss and blood. The rash is generally confined to one small area, although it seems to have spread a bit lately. I first tried treating it by cleansing the area and putting some mild cortisone cream on it.
Avatar n tn I used to have really bad acne until a couple weeks ago; I started drinking more water and all of the bumps went away. But now, my face is constantly red and I have these red, flat, blotchy spots everywhere. Some days are worse than others, it's like it will flare up sometimes. My mom and I researched it and were convinced it was rosacea, but I went to a dermatologist and she said it was acne scars and put me on all of this treatment.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Apprilon (a doxycycline modified release capsule) last month, as I have had marginal success with antibiotics over the years (twice, to be exact). When I googled this medication I found it is usually used to treat acne only associated with rosacea, and does not help in areas of bacterial infection, but inflammation.. I'm thinking my doc screwed up. Any chance Apprilon caused this whitehead rash?
Avatar m tn I have problem with my scalp, it started a 4 months ago. I have acne all over my scalp, maybe around 5 to 6 of them at any time. Its itchy, red skin, inflammation around the area for a few days until i apply ketoconozole cream. I hav tried taking kotoconazole tablet (400mg /day) and fluconozole on a weekly basis. I try going to a hot spring (natural) which believe to have to cure. so far Its getting better but i still feel something on my scalp, which is not normal. 1.
6946979 tn?1392759506 Anyone else have/had problems with dry skin/acne? Before my pregnancy i never had acne breakouts and my face has become dry and flaky. Any suggestions on helping it?
384896 tn?1335294331 Well, does it look like tiny zits? red ones? Cause it could be baby acne which goes away on it's own and don't pop them... Her pours are working on their own, this happens to all kids at some point before their 1. If it was exzema it's be patches of dry and flakey stuff. I believe you probably know what it lookd like though, but really sounds like acne. You can put some Eucerin Cream/Lotion on it.
Avatar f tn t even think it was baby acne anymore! but it turned out it was acne it was just so so bad they actually put neostatin(the diaper rash cream) on it, sorry I know that's not spelled right. we even went and got aveno but it didn't work for brody but u can try it for ur baby! it took about 4 months to get better but he still breaks out some.he has really sensitive skin!
2021910 tn?1339896686 my son will be 4 weeks tomorrow but he seems to be breaking out like little pimples is there anything to help it go away also on his forhead his skin seems dry I put baby magic lotion on it..is that gonna help?

1354275 tn?1277123508 I have Graves Disease and was recently reduced from 20mg a day of Neo-mercazole to 5mg. I was told to stop taking it for 2-days and to start back on 5mg a day. Apparently my blood test results were just below normal. Is this unusually low for a dosage. The reason I ask is because I'm having heart palpitations, anxiety, tremors and I'm feeling weak and exhausted all over again. I was feeling great on the 20mg and now I feel terrible.
Avatar f tn Fearing that those would leave me marks I went to dermatologist and was prescribed acne clear gel, hidrate lotion and adaferin gel. I have been using acne gel and hidrate lotion from one month my acne settled well. But from last 3 days I am getting very bad white flakes on face. My face is tight and some time applying lotion burns my face. White flakes have appeared first time on my face. I am very scared does this resembles dermatitis? I also have little bit itching on face.
