Sorry to be back and I hope I can get a quick answer. Before my 3 month test I was taking acne gel which I leave on at night, on it's own I know it makes no difference. However it states it must be used within 2 months, I think I first opened it 4-5 months ago. Would this have an affect on the test?
Anyone get acne after startung thyroid medication? Im on armour thyroid... 30mg. I started it august 6th and broke out within a week but that breakout subsided till a few weeks later i started breaking out again...i concieved 3 weeks after starting the meds so thought it was pregnancy. Then when increasing my dosage in the second trimedter my acnr got way worse. Skin so oily and cystic big ones! Then it calmed down when i decreased back down to 30mg...
Pt is a 23 yo Caucasian male presenting with a rash over the entirety of his back with blotchy concentration on the lateral area over the latissimus dorsi and solid concentration over the shoulder area. The rash is red in nature, does not itch, is not raised. The severity comes and goes without known cause, but remains constantly. Presentation began 2 months ago and has increased in severity since.
Pt has no known food or drug allergies.

My acne worsened after I started thyroid hormones and covered my upper back/neck (nodular acne). This is because my natural thyroid gland production slowed down in response to taking thyroxine. About 4 or 5 weeks later I was free of acne so my thyroid blood levels were optimal once again. Thyroid hormone helps with the conversion of beta-carotene to vitamin A. Vitamin A deficiency is one cause of acne.
You can try the proactive body wash. It really does work I've never had back acne but when i was younger i had face acne. My mom bought me the proactive and it cleared up. My little sis had back acne we got her the body wash and it reduced back acne. I've seen it work maybe it'll work for you as well.
I never really had acne on my face let alone my back but now I'm beginning to break out on the back or my shoulders. What kind of products are safe/effective in treating that sort of acne. Not overly concerned just wanna control it if possible.
Back and shoulder acne are quite difficult to treat compared to acne on other parts of the body. Thoroughly wash your body everyday, especially the back and shoulder part using a back brush and frequently change your bed sheet, as it is conducive for bacterial growth. Engage in a diet that is low in sugar and fat but is rich in vitamins. This prevents acne by preventing the buildup of excess oil on the skin. Also refrain from touching or squeezing your shoulder acne.

about. However I was curious if this could also cause acne? I never was one to get acne on my face nor front side though I did on my rear as well as my back. He scheduled a blood test for me that he said tested for CBC (Complete Blood Count), Liver function and Kidney function because he wanted me to go on acne medication that required these tests (Isotretinoin). He also gave me some antibiotics to clear up sinus. I asked him if he thought this might be lymphoma and he said it is very unlikely since I have an obvious infection on my face (severe acne) plus the fact I have sinus infection.
I had back acne since my 20's.They get worse in summer and little better in winter.I am 25 now.Since last year this seems to spread to the back of my arm as given in the image I've posted in my profile.I have seen many docs,accutane didn't suite me.The appearance on these pimple/acnes are black and raised.They remain like that for years.I've changed my diet and that seems to help a little.But I am concerned what are those really? Nothing really seems to help and its not easy to apply meds to back acne. I want to try accutane since nothing else really helps, because it works on the whole body and finally because its the only medication that could possibly put my acne into complete remission. I get the feeling that my derm won't prescribe it to me, although I'm gonna ask him this week, and wanted to know if I began self medicating myself how much should I take, when, and with what kind of meal.
I have been having this random cluster of red acne like spots on the upper middle of my back. I'm not sure if it's acne or a rash from my laundry detergent? I've been using benzoyl peroxide acne cream but it's still there. It used to be raised a little like acne but now its all flat.

isotretinoin also known as Accutane, can be prescribed by a doctor, or contraceptive pills with cyproterone for females with virilization or drospirenone.
