Common Questions and Answers about Neck lift liposuction hard knots or lumps post surgery

neck

Avatar n tn Two months ago I needed a second surgery due to an unusual fold in my neck and some blisters and hard knots under the skin of my neck. Since that surgery I have been getting steroid injections into the hard knots/scars. I now have a depressed pocket, the size of a penny and several rock hard knots under the neck skin. I also have two medium-sized bulges at the bottom of my neck that seem to be filled with fluid.
Avatar f tn You are like the only other person I have found that had what also happened to me. (Hence my med help name) I had a neck lift but it included to lipo in thr neck region.I did not need much as I had a good jaw line no jowls yet but just the beginnings of the 2 neck bands that my Dr said he could correct and made it sound simple. I got a neck seroma.
Avatar f tn 2 years ago I had a neck lift, with lipo under the chin and my upper and lower eyes done. I have had constant and often debilitating pain since the surgery. Burning like Chinese burns, no feeling to the sides of the face, tightness that is overwheelming. Slight swelling along the jawline RHS that is worse at different times. I've had blood tests, xrays, ultrasound, second opinions from other plastics surgeons and doctors.
Avatar n tn I am not a candidate for liposuction (too thin). Could you tell me what is found as a result of surgery in the upper buttock area? Thank you again.
Avatar f tn Had a blood donation on Aug 19th, 2010, one of many times, and it was a very painful experience. The nurse said it would subside in 5 to 10 mins. The next day a large lump formed on the back of my elbow and the whole joint area was burning and prickly feeling. This continued for several days, went to see my Dr, and she said it was probably a small collection of blood, that was pressing on the ulnar nerve in my arm. It would dissapate and the pain would go away.

20904314 tn?1607606988 Liposuction is a surgical procedure that uses a suction technique to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. Liposuction also shapes (contours) these areas.
Avatar f tn Whereabouts is the lump? You do have muscles in your scalp, and just like your back or shoulders, can get 'knots' in them. That would explain the shooting pain when you press it. I get a pretty big lump at the back of my head sometimes due to my neck being out of place, and sometimes smaller lumps near my temples, and it does shoot pain through my head if I press.
Avatar f tn I had my surgery exactly 6 weeks ago today (surgery 9/7/11) All went well in the hospital. Interested in knowing if others have done well the first few days/week and then at home extremely tired, weak, headaches, neck and shoulders feel like they are pulling/stretching, back of head tight and lumps along the incision. Interested in any information on others day to day changes, week to week, etc.
Avatar n tn I fell in the hands of a cheater type surgeon, who only to remove the nasaloboial folds along my nose n lips conducted 4 facelift surgeries in less than 4 years, a liposuction of face, lured me to get an eyelid surgery, bla bla. He manipulated and exploited my sentiments, mislead me and grabbed handsome amounts out. He left me with humps and depressions all over my face as a result of all his stupid surgeries.
Avatar n tn Your swelling post tummy tuck could be due to any number of reasons, including disruption of the muscle fascia sutures, residual fat from either weight gain or limited fat removal at the time of surgery, or fluid retention. It would be impossible to determine the exact cause without an examination.
Avatar n tn You need to seek a surgeon who is highly experienced with liposuction and does not rely only on Smartlipo for your procedure. Revision of liposuction with additional liposuction and possible fat grafting may be required to improve your appearance. Redo procedures can be successful in the right hands.
715004 tn?1309077280 The Dr. examined me and told me that my neck, shoulders and back had so many knots in them that it was as if someone had fired a shotgun at it and everywhere the pellets hit a knot formed and grew. One he lovingly called Mount Everest. He told me, given my history these have been here for MANY years. In addition, my atlas is rotated and "kicked back", too.
Avatar f tn t solve the problem because I want to remove it just in case it turns to be something that could negatively affect me later, such as a tumor or cancer... or to surgically remove it. I came across some scholarly articles that discuss removing accessory breast tissue via ultrasound/liposuction, as well as liposuction but with a larger 3mm canula, which would both leave a very small scar.
Avatar n tn Hello, I'm 21 years old and about 4 days ago i started feeling some pain in my right armpit. After feeling it, there wasn't much to feel but over the past 4 days it has developed into 3 hard painful lumps under the skin, no discoloration, slightly larger in size than a pea, and increasing in size and pain everyday. Pain feels like a bruise. It's even hard for me to use my right arm to lift things or just lift my arm for that matter.
Avatar n tn My shins are bad my jaw line too, tender to touch, I also seem to have a couple of hard pea like lumps in my neck that have made themselves at home for probably 5 years, the docs are not concerned, my neck and shoulders are lumpy (larger) and extremly painful but this I put down to tension knots, I don't have any answers but I can let you know you're not on your own with them!
Avatar f tn I had neck lift surgery in April of 2012. Ever since the back of the right side of my head feels like I have a metal plate that has been placed inside. My right side of head feels numb but at the same time I am in so much pain. Part of the pain goes deep into the center of the back of my head. The other part of the pain is at the lower part of the back of my head right at my neck. I get very little sleep due to not being able to lay on my back and having to sleep on my left side.
1194772 tn?1309578232 I have had these painful knots in my neck and in the trapezius area for a couple years but it just getting worse. I have tried everything to take the pain away from steroid injections, botox, PT, massage, acupuncture and muscle relaxants. Lately with all my worries about MS the stress is making the spasms worse. I don't know if this is any way related to my possible MS diagnosis.
Avatar m tn I have noticed that our bulldog has 3 golf ball size lumps under his neck and 2 on his back legs. They are very hard knots. They are spreading fast. It is cancer due to all the things I have read. On top of this he also has allergies and is going blind. Last night I noticed that the back of his legs was retaining fluid. What can I do to keep him comfortable? He still eats and drinks just not alot.
Avatar n tn I had a partial face lift and neck lift 2 years ago. I still feel extreme tension/tightness at the sides of my neck, near my cervical nodes. I cannot palpate any node enlargement. I am also experiencing increasing parasthesia of my lips to the point of difficulty enunciating words. I have no lip drooping, but I experience some saliva drooling while speaking. My surgeon merely suggests more surgery.
Avatar n tn Any hard knots that develop on the body should be seen by a doctor. Not to scare you too much--but just enough--bad things like rheumatological disease and even cancer are associated with hard lumps that do not go away. Make an appt with your GP.
1418560 tn?1282274689 If the lumps increases in size, becomes painful, changes color, bleeds, changes shape or consistency or more similar lumps appear then consult a doctor. Regarding the EMG and herniated discs, you do have a problem there and it could be causing low back aches with pain down the legs. If you cannot afford surgery and other treatments now, then you can go to a physiotherapist or a chiropractor and learn some exercises for the back and legs that will help take off the pressure on the nerves.
Avatar f tn Last year I had a minimally invasive chin lift procedure which has left some knotty scar tissue spots under/around ear lobes and 2 hard knots behind middle of both ears. They are still quite RED, are very sore to touch and itch constantly, especially when I lie down. Can these be removed/cleaned up and smoothed out so they look/feel better and the pain goes away?
Avatar m tn I was involved in a car accident the beginning of March, this yr. I hit a patch of black ice on a overpass & hit a concrete guardrail, doing minimal damage to my vehicle, but extremely injured myself. I sustained 3 bulging disc @ c4-5, c5-6, c6-7, a rupture @c5-6, 2 annular tears & sprained rotator cupp. I went to see my chiropractor the day after, which was a monday & he took xrays, which showed whiplash of my cervical spine.
Avatar f tn 4 nights ago I woke up and was unable to lift my head, left arm or left leg - they had 'fallen asleep' and required a number of minutes of forced shaking to result in pins and needles feeling before recovering full feeling. 3 nights ago the same thing happened but only in my left arm from the shoulder down. Then 3 days ago I noticed a red blotchy rash all over my arms, chest and stomach. It did not itch at the time and died down after a couple of hours.
