Hi I just had a revision procedure that included neck lift to correct my platysma muscles. I originally had liposuction and a thread lift done to rejuvenate my lower part of my face. I didn't want anything invasive so opted for the thread lift with lipo under the chin and lightly underneath my jawline. After the healing was done it was obvious that the procedure did not obtain good results and exposed my platysma bands and had much indentations where the thread lift was placed under my jaw.
I had a partial face lift and neck lift 2 years ago. I still feel extreme tension/tightness at the sides of my neck, near my cervical nodes. I cannot palpate any node enlargement. I am also experiencing increasing parasthesia of my lips to the point of difficulty enunciating words. I have no lip drooping, but I experience some saliva drooling while speaking. My surgeon merely suggests more surgery.
For the last 7-8 months i have been getting sick frequently (every week) viruses, bacterial infections, chest infections, i i have been getting aching pain in my thighs, calfs, arms, neck, hips, back.
My firends have told me i may have fibromyalgia - I don't know anything about this
Could i have it?
Just thought I would let you all know for future reference if there are any sufferers in NZ, that I saw Dr Andrew Law yesterday, and found him to be excellent in every way. He has a good understanding of Chiari, Syrinx, Spina Bifida, amongst other things and was very helpful to me. He's very experienced (I did some homework!) and a really down to earth guy who takes a patient seriously.
I had neck lift surgery in April of 2012. Ever since the back of the right side of my head feels like I have a metal plate that has been placed inside. My right side of head feels numb but at the same time I am in so much pain. Part of the pain goes deep into the center of the back of my head. The other part of the pain is at the lower part of the back of my head right at my neck. I get very little sleep due to not being able to lay on my back and having to sleep on my left side.
We have had several members from NZ....not sure if ne are still active right now...we have had clintsmum, and a few others.....I can only recall her name right now...sorry, but if u use the search this community feature u should be able to put in the topic to locate older threads on the topic of location and see if they r still active....they may troll and see this too...
I had a face & neck lift 3.5 years ago and I am still experiencing swollen jaw area & tingling sensations in my cheek areas. Sometimes I feel like I am going to choke the chin/neck area is so tight. I exercise, massage, hot/cold compress, etc but nothing is relieving the swollen areas. Any ideas?
can not lift up my head only down intense spasm pain, can not turn left or right, aches when swallowing.

Withdrawal symptoms just last different times for different people. Just give it some time. You should feel better within 30 days or so. The fog may lift tomorrow, or it may take some time. It's just your body getting used to a clean life.
2 years ago I had a neck lift, with lipo under the chin and my upper and lower eyes done. I have had constant and often debilitating pain since the surgery. Burning like Chinese burns, no feeling to the sides of the face, tightness that is overwheelming. Slight swelling along the jawline RHS that is worse at different times.
I've had blood tests, xrays, ultrasound, second opinions from other plastics surgeons and doctors.
Hi Robyn...PM (private message) a member clintsmum....she is in NZ and is a big advocate for chiari awareness.
She is not real active on the forum, but does keep in contact if u send her a message.
He lives on the Gold Coast, Australia, Im in NZ and want to know what to suggest. He will try get a doctors apt but its kinda urgent and being a new NZ person working in Aust, it may cost him hundreds of $ to even see a doctor…can he get a treatment over the counter in Aust?

Hi... I had a protected sex with a girl in Massage Parlour in NZ. Here in NZ, parlours offer safe sex. So we have protected varginal sex for about 5 min. There was no kissing at all with the girl. Then I left the place. After that I have been fearing to get some STD's like HIV, Chlamydia etc from that single encounter.

One month ago I had a neck and half face lift. I am now have a large under the skin scar tissue development next to my mouth, it is preventing me from opening my mouth, I can not even eat a banana, floss my teeth,etc. My doctor said to massage the area, and come in the office for ultra sound treatments to help dissolve the scar tissue, several days later there is more scar tissue devloping in other areas. what is your take on this and what is your recomendation?
Right now, he did not feel the pain, he can move his neck, also his arm strength back on. But, the problem is he still can not lift up his shoulder higher than ears. Doctor said he his should should back on normal after three weeks and he did improve a lot compare the first when we went to see doctor. Doctor wonder why he still can not lift up his shoulder. When i tried to lift up his shoulder, i can feel his shoulder is so heavy (he did not feel pain, just can not lift high).
